In serving clients for a quarter of a century with Edward Jones, Troy has developed a very specialized process to understand what is most important to his clients, to understand the why behind what's important, to know who is most important in their lives. He then develops a plan that addresses each of those areas. Clients have loved his process, and for years there was more demand than he had capacity.

This last year, he's expanded his team and formed Edward Jones Nelson Wealth Management, which has given the team the capacity to make a difference in the lives of more people.

Nelson has been ranked on the Forbes Top 250 Wealth Advisors since 2021 and ranked 118th in 2023. For the last three years, he has been ranked first in North Dakota for Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors. Barron’s Top 1200 has named him the #1 ND Financial Advisor for 14 consecutive years.

In addition to running the largest Edward Jones branch in the country, Nelson gives his time, talent, and treasure back to the Bismarck-Mandan community. He volunteers and donates to Teen Challenge, Closet 701, and the Soup Kitchen. He serves on the Board of Directors for Pulse Outreach and leads numerous men's groups at his church.
