While attending South Dakota State University for construction management, Chris Rans walked onto a Sunkota jobsite on campus and asked the superintendent for a job. Less than 10 years later, he went on to purchase the company and became its sole owner.

Today, Chris carries on the legacy of Sunkota Construction, which boasts 27 years in business. Sunkota Construction takes the headaches and stress out of commercial building construction by working with owners, architects, and engineers to plan, design, and construct each project efficiently.

They embrace each project with a fresh, energetic perspective that leads to exceptional craftsmanship and satisfaction for each client.

Sunkota is also a family-friendly workplace, and Chris works hard to ensure both staff members and their families feel supported. He also encourages the team to give back to the community, including through their involvement in the Sioux Falls Chamber and support of the National Association of Women in Construction Greater Sioux Falls Chapter.
