Soft Mount

Recoil forces which occur when the weapon is fired can be a source of structural fatigue on the carrier aircraft and also reduce the accuracy of the gun.In FN Herstal’s pod, the machine gun is fitted on a soft mount that absorbs these recoil forces.

MIL-STD-1760 Digital adaptation box assembly

Safety and Cocking Device Take-off and landing take place in perfect safety, i.e. with no chambered cartridge (to avoid any cook-off risks), thanks to the electromechanical and remote control cocking device. The machine gun can always be recocked in flight without limitation.

Boresighting Device

An elevation and azimuthadjustment device enables to match line of sight with line of fire

Spent Links and Cases Collector

All the cases and links are collected in the removable collector (LCC). Available with spent links collector or spent links and cases collector depending on model.

Ammunition Box

The 250-round (FN® D-HMP250 and FN® D-RMP) or 400-round (FN® D-HMP400) box is reversible and allows feeding from the left or right side.Its design guarantees a smooth movement of the belt with no risk of jamming or fouling due to aircraft maneuvers or acceleration.
