David Clark
Dave began his real estate career by starting an independent family real estate business with his father in Gippsland, Victoria in 1991. He completed his Diploma of Real Estate Practice in Victoria in 1995 and, soon after, was a finalist in the REIV Auctioneers competition. Recognising Dave’s passion for the Auction system and his unique style of Auctioneering, Ray White approached him to become their Chief Auctioneer and trainer. Dave held this position until mid 1999, when he decided to return to Gippsland to open a second branch of his family’s real estate business – now known as First National Clark. In 2000, Dave relocated to Brisbane to chase new challenges, joining the Delfin Lend Lease group where he was responsible managing sales operations throughout 8 projects across Queensland. Returning to real estate sales in 2006, Dave bought a struggling LJ Hooker business in Brisbane’s inner western suburbs and soon tripled the business’ value, both in sales and rentals. This rapid growth was noticed by immediate competitors and in 2008 Dave was approached by one of them to sell the business. In 2011, Dave has, in a manner of speaking, returned to the “family business”, accepting the National Regional Manager role with First National. Having vast experience in “hands on” operation of real estate business management, Dave understands the needs of regional members vary from those of the city and the challenges faced are also unique.
