Chris Jericho By Focus Omaha

Many of us have fantasies from the time we’re young about what we want to do when we grow up. Our dreams tend to change as our journey in life leads us in different directions. But not so for Chris Jericho. From the time he was young he wanted to be a wrestler and a rock star, and he’s managed to live the life he always dreamed of.

Dancing with the Stars and he said, “I took a chance and did something I found interesting. I turned dancing down two times but a friend told me I should try it. It was great to do something outside of my comfort level. I don’t have to do anything for money at this point, but for the experience.” And while being in the WWE is much like celebrating the rock star lifestyle due to its larger than life characterizations, Jericho made a good point when he added, “You need to be larger than life in anything you do in entertainment. It’s all about connecting with the audience.”

Jericho stated, “We’ve traveled all over the world together. This isn’t Chris Jericho and his band of merry men. This is a five-point star.” And a five-point star they are. They rocked out a packed crowd at The Waiting Room this past Thursday along with Adelitas Way, Stone Broken, and The Stir. I can guarantee that the next time you have a chance to catch any one of these bands, you don’t want to wait too long to get your ticket.

And connect he has. Their song Judas-currently has over 22 million YouTube views. When Jericho was Jericho started playing in bands at asked if he expected this, he said, 13, and for those who are unaware “I don’t think you ever expect has always remained, at some level, in that. It’s our defining song for the music scene. When asked about the moment. It’s a year and Fozzy’s sound he mused, “If Metallica change later. It’s our Stairway to and Journey had a bastard child and it Heaven or Enter Sandman. I call was raised by AC/DC that’s what Fozzy it the Judas Effect. We knew it sounds like.” would happen, we just didn’t know when.” The key element to his success is not being afraid to take a chance. This was One might wonder if the band made clear when we asked Jericho members are ever distracted by about his experience in 2011 with Jericho’s fame, but not so much.

Battle of the Bands By Focus Omaha

Congratulations are due Virgin Mary Pistol Grip for being the first winners of our Battle of the Bands. All the bands that participated were more than deserving, so we offer a special

thanks to Through the Stone, The Party After, and Sherry Drive also because they all kicked a** and put on one heck of a show. When we talked about having to reorganize our big show on September 15th to two or three Holiday shows, they didn’t complain a bit and for that reason alone, they are all deserving of opening gigs. All of them will get their chance to open for major acts before the year is out. I also want to thank all our friends, followers, readers and sponsors for the tremendous amount of understanding and support that they have given us. We will make sure to put on some killer shows this fall/winter and hopefully everyone will be satisfied!

Today’s designation is part of a concerted effort to expose and disrupt ISIS-related financing activity around the globe, and follows numerous other U.S. government actions this year to target ISIS branches and networks in Somalia, West Africa, Tunisia, Egypt, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Treasury’s action furthers this Administration’s continued campaign to ensure that battlefield successes against ISIS are sustained.

Treasury Sanctions East African Facilitator of Intricate ISIS Financial Network Washington – The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) took action today targeting Waleed Ahmed Zein, a terrorist in East Africa who established an intricate worldwide financial network to facilitate funds transfers for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Zein has been named a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13224 for assisting in, sponsoring, or providing financial, material, or technological support for, or financial or other services to or in support of, ISIS. “Zein is a dangerous terrorist who established an intricate global network of financial facilitators for ISIS, using hawalas and intermediaries to evade police detection and fund their deadly ambitions,” said Sigal Mandelker, Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. “This administration is committed to targeting ISIS facilitators and their underground networks wherever they operate, in an effort to deny resources they need to carry out attacks.”

Zein has served as an important ISIS financial facilitator in East Africa in recent years. He established an intricate ISIS financial facilitation network spanning Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Eastern Africa. Between 2017 and early 2018, Zein moved over $150,000 through his complex network. He deposited large sums of money into a personal account, claiming that the money came from a vehicle and spare auto parts company owned by a family member. Zein also used an associate to conduct similar transactions including receiving money from around the world, primarily via hawala systems. Funds were then sent to ISIS fighters in Syria, Libya, and Central Africa. Zein and his associates received instructions, money, and account information from an intermediary in an attempt to evade police surveillance. Zein was ultimately arrested by Kenyan security services in July 2018. As a result of today’s action, all property and interests in property of Zein that are in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons must be blocked and reported to OFAC. OFAC’s regulations generally prohibit all dealings by U.S. persons or within (or transiting) the United States that involve any property or interests in property of blocked or designated persons.

Moving With Kids By Focus Omaha

Buying and moving into a new home is already a complicated process, but moving with children adds an entirely different set of requirements and stresses. The National Association of Realtors®’ 2018 Moving with Kids report, https://www.nar.realtor/ research-and-statistics/researchreports/moving-with-kids, explores the unique needs of homebuyers and sellers with children under 18.

navigate every emotional and financial factor to ensure families find their dream home.” When choosing a home, buyers with children tend to purchase larger homes than their child-free counterparts. The average buyer with children under 18 purchases a 2,100-square-foot home with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, while the average buyer with no children chooses a 1,750-square-foot home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Both groups prefer a single-family, detached house. Unsurprisingly, schools play a critical factor in the purchasing decisions of buyers with children. Fifty percent of buyers with children say the quality of a neighborhood’s school district is important, compared to 11 percent of buyers without children. Convenience and proximity to schools is also a crucial consideration to buyers with children, with 45 percent saying it is an important factor. Just six percent of buyers without children agreed.

“Buying a house is rarely just a financial transaction, especially when children are involved,” said NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall, a sixth-generation Realtor® from Columbia, Missouri, and CEO of RE/ MAX Boone Realty. “Parents are choosing the home they will raise their kids in, the schools their sons and daughters will attend and the More than a quarter of all buyers with neighborhood where they will play and children, 27 percent, said childcare make friends. Sellers with children want their agents to sell their home within a specific timeframe (22 percent), more so than sellers without children (20 percent). However, sellers both with and without children expect their agents to provide a broad range of services and manage most aspects of their home sale, 80 and 79 percent respectively.
