In this hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long-lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces! Romantic entanglements ensue, especially when Leo falls madly in love with the old lady’s vivacious niece, Meg, who’s engaged to the local minister.

The 1979 version outlines three friends who are bored and feeling old, while this version is exhibits three friends who consider crime as a necessity when they reach a financial misfortune.
Going in Style By Teka Marie Going in Style is a modern day remake of the 1979 [same-titled] version directed by Martin Brest, starring George Burns. Joe (Michael Caine), Albert (Alan Arkin), and Willie (Morgan Freeman) are three lifelong pals living from one social security check to the next until they decide they have had enough when their situations reach a tipping point. Desperately trying to keep the bills paid and spend more time with family, they decide to take matters into their own hands and rob a bank. But not just any bank, they plan to take down the bank that has frozen their pensions and forced them into financial hardships. After a failed grocerystore attempt trial run, these three seniors realize they don’t have what it takes to successfully pull off the heist. Joe reaches out to Murphy (Peter Serafinowicz), his granddaughter’s (Joey King) deadbeat dad, in search of a criminal mastermind to help get these fogeys into bank-robbing shape.
Freeman, Arkin and Caine work together effortlessly prove that at no matter what age, an actor is never robbed (pun intended) of his comedic energy. They also give you the impression they might actually be friends...making them a delight to see on the big screen. This film illustrates a lifelong friendship (of three seniors) while telling a charming story of how they take back their financial freedom with the help of Jesus (John Ortiz) before the bank forecloses on Joe’s home. Additionally, both Brooklyn and Jesus provide good balance as supporting characters when it comes to the relationships outside of the three best buds.
The storyline is dry on the surface, and they may not be solving the problem in the most noble way, but there is a great deal of chemistry between these three established actors. Not to mention, a director without a starring role. There is comic relief in dealing with some real-life issues that people do actually face as they reach retirement age. We may not have a great deal of seventy-five-year-olds planning bank heists, but just like Joe, Al and Willie, they are faced with similar dilemmas. Whether you’ve seen the original or not (most of us haven’t), Going is Style is definitely an amusing and refreshing film. (4 out of 5 Stars)
Zack Braff (director) takes his notes directly from the source material providing moviegoers with 90-minutes of good old fashioned movie fun. Going in Style is an entertaining and witty, feel-good film for any generation. This was also the perfect opportunity for Braff to gain some much needed momentum in the filmmaking industry. While there may not be a second installment to this film, Braff set the bar high for his next movie.

5 Pieces to Master Vacation Style By Cass Butler It’s that time of year again. If I think hard about it, is it ever NOT that time of year? Vacations are always a good idea and always on someone’s itinerary, they simply seem to accelerate during our warmer months. Whether you’re planning a stateside trip or two, heading South or North of our borders, or planning an international excursion, I’ve got 5 pieces to master your vacation style with ease.
look to an evening look. A swap of the shoes, the addition of some cute baubles like a simple necklace or earrings, and you’ve got the makings of a great look for your getaway - no matter the agenda. Another of the 5 pieces to master your vacation style is a pair (or two) of cute yet comfy slide sandals. They are all the darlings of the season, touting more comfort than the restrictive ankle strap sandals or thong sandals. They make great vacation sandals because they look good with everything. You can wear them with your versatile dresses, your cropped denim shorts, sundresses, bathing suits/coverups...really, you can do whatever you like! They come as basic or as embellished as you want them to be. Get you some in your life.
What is a vacation without proper swimwear? Even if your vacation does not involve a beach, many hotels have nice indoor and outdoor pools One of the key pieces is a versatile to hang out and unwind. Swimsuits dress that allows you to transition from day to night effortlessly. Whether are like handbags, it doesn’t hurt to have a few to rotate. There are some it’s a girl’s getaway, couple’s vacay flattering styles to add to your current or a family trip, a dress that will collection. I am partial to statementserve multiple purposes is key. Play with textures and materials like soft cotton, poly-blends twist-front designs and the one-piece swimsuits with front or side cutouts or denim, to find the best ones for are equally appealing. All of the your vacation style. Bodycon jersey swimsuits lend themselves to incidentdresses are also a key, favorite piece to mastering vacation style. They pack free vacation wear. A stylish statement bag or carryall is a musthave to tote around all of your essentials. Your travel charger, sunscreen, bottled water, sunglasses, camera and even light snacks such as fruit or nuts are some of the things I find myself needing when I am out on my daily excursions. A carryall is incredibly handy on vacations. Toss it on your shoulder, across your shoulder...and keep it moving. The last piece to master your vacation style is dope head gear, like a Panama hat. Nothing screams “summer” or “vacation vibes” better than a Panama hat. Not only will you look like the fashion maven you are, you will potentially also gain some functionality from this hat. In the event you are venturing someplace
where the sun is shining abundantly, a Panama hat is constructed to offer a bit of face and neck protection from the sun. Of course there are other pieces you can incorporate to keep your style on point while enjoying your spring and summer vacations. I love my cut-off shorts with tanks or my swimsuit, but I realize not everyone enjoys wearing them. Come and hang throughout the week online at www.theluxestyle.com and on Instagram @luxestyles.

Nebraska running back sent chills up the collective spines of opposing defenses. Some say the problem is play calling – others say talent. Regardless of the cause, a solution may be at hand. Mikale Wilbon seems to be separating himself from the rest of the running backs on the roster. This would be welcome news, because Nebraska fans love their rushing attack. It has seemed in recent years that just when a back started to get rolling, he was subbed for and the rushing attack faded. Maybe on Saturday, the Huskers will establish Wilbon as “The Man.” That alone would do much to establish hope in the hearts of the Husker faithful. But, if NU was not known as “I-Back U,” it was known as “Lineman U.” Suffice it to say – NU’s recent offensive lines won’t be confused with the mid1990’s “Pipeline.”
Yes, there is hope, but these guys need to start moving people off the line of scrimmage. Oh, and if NU hopes to throw the ball, there is a serious need for improvement there. True, we have seen some good possession receivers there in recent years. But De’Mornay Pierson-El and Stanley Morgan Jr. need to be standout players. Defense wins championships. But not if the defense has to play 45 minutes a game and those 3-2 and 6-5 wins are extremely rare in college football. Nebraska has been in desperate need of a facelift. Lately the defense has been less than a dominating force to be reckoned with. Enter Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco. After playing at Iowa in the 90’s, he’s expressed his excitement about returning to the Big Ten. Don’t let the boyish grin and charm fool you. Coach Diaco brings an intensity and yes; passion, to the field that was clearly lacking in his predecessor Mark Banker. The obvious storyline for the Red-White Spring Game is to watch how he’s implementing the new 3-4 defensive style and where he’s going to be shifting personnel. It’s been widely discussed that Joshua Kalu is being moved to boundary safety, and the emphasis has been placed more on skill than seniority. We can expect some surprises as the Huskers attempt to find a speedy secondary which will be a key to implementing the new defensive scheme.

By Mike Herek Do you picture yourself owning a new home, starting a business, or retiring comfortably? These are a few of the financial goals that may be important to you, and each comes with a price tag attached. That’s where financial planning comes in. Financial planning is a process that can help you target your goals by evaluating your whole financial picture, then outlining strategies that are tailored to your individual needs and available resources. Why is financial planning important? A comprehensive financial plan serves as a framework for organizing the pieces of your financial picture. With a financial plan in place, you’ll be better able to focus on your goals and understand what it will take to reach them. One of the main benefits of having a financial plan is that it can help
Some members of the team you balance competing financial priorities. A financial plan will clearly show you how your financial goals are related--for example, how saving for your children’s college education might impact your ability to save for retirement. Then you can use the information you’ve gleaned to decide how to prioritize your goals, implement specific strategies, and choose suitable products or services. Best of all, you’ll know that your financial life is headed in the right direction. The financial planning process Creating and implementing a comprehensive financial plan generally involves working with financial professionals to: • Develop a clear picture of your current financial situation by reviewing your income, assets, and liabilities, and evaluating your insurance coverage, your investment portfolio, your tax exposure, and your

The financial planning process can involve a number of professionals. Financial planners typically play a central role in the process, focusing on your overall financial plan, and often coordinating the activities of other professionals who have expertise in specific areas. Accountants or tax attorneys provide advice on federal and state tax issues. Estate planning attorneys help you plan your estate and give advice on transferring and managing your assets before and after your death. Insurance professionals evaluate insurance needs and recommend appropriate products and strategies. Investment advisors provide advice about investment options and asset allocation, and can help you plan a strategy to manage your investment portfolio.
The most important member of the team, however, is you. Your needs and objectives drive the team, and once you’ve carefully considered any recommendations, all decisions lie in your hands. Why can’t I do it myself? You can, if you have enough time and knowledge, but developing a comprehensive financial plan may require expertise in several areas. A financial professional can give you objective information and help you weigh your alternatives, saving you time and ensuring that all angles of your financial picture are covered. Staying on track The financial planning process doesn’t end once your initial plan has been created. Your plan should generally be reviewed at least once a year to make sure that it’s up-to-date. It’s also possible that you’ll need to modify your plan due to changes in your personal circumstances or the economy. Here are some of the events that might trigger a review of your financial plan: • Your goals or time horizons change • You experience a life-changing event such as marriage, the birth of a child, health problems, or a job loss • You have a specific or immediate financial planning need (e.g., drafting a will, managing a distribution from a retirement account, paying long-term
care expenses) • Your income or expenses substantially increase or decrease

But no matter what type of help you need, a financial professional will work hard to make the process as easy as possible, and will gladly answer all of your questions. Zika By Eddie Torrez Chances are the subject of the Zika virus has slipped your mind. After all, not a lot of folks have been dealing with mosquito bites out here on the prairie the last few months. And, Nebraska has experienced only a handful of cases, all of which involved people who traveled to areas where the Zika virus is being actively transmitted. Still, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is making a new effort to remind people to avoid the Zika virus, especially pregnant women or those who are trying to get pregnant. Last year more than 1,200 women in the United States who were pregnant also were afflicted with the Zika virus. Almost all of those cases were related to travel. From that, 50 children were born with birth defects, most notably microcephaly, which causes a smaller head and other developmental challenges.
Men who may have traveled to areas where Zika is circulation are asked to refrain from sex with their pregnant partners or use condoms. Consulting a health care professional is also wise. It should be considered that the Western Hemisphere is new to dealing with Zika virus, and a lot is still being learned. Also, remember, it is a virus and viruses change. The best way to protect your child from Zika virus is to avoid mosquito bites. While it is unlikely that any mosquitoes carrying the Zika virus will be found in Nebraska, you never say never. The CDC has estimated the cost of caring for a child who is born with the serious birth defects that can be caused by Zika virus at $10 million over the course of the child’s life. Fight the bite – learn more and protect yourself – and the next generation. For up to date info, got to www.cdc.gov and look for the Zika page.

Mark Patrick– Hip Hop from the Heartland By Andy Roberts If you just picked up on Omaha hip hop artist Mark Patrick in December, when his Pen and Pad LP came out, you are behind the curve. Patrick is a lifelong Omahan, and it was here that he became inspired by hip hop music. He recalls poetry as one of his first loves, drawn in by the work
of Shel Silverstein, the amusing poet and songwriter who created numerous children’s books who was an early inspiration.
Originally he was part of the duo Next Weapons, but in early 2015 he began the solo “It just drew me in,” he said. “We’re mainly business partners,” Patrick said. “We’re separate solo artists.” The solo career is proceeding nicely. Patrick was nominated for Best Hip Hop Artist and Best New Artist for this year’s Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards. Pen and Pad was released in December and is available online through numerous sources. The album features collaborations with several
local artists. He also has a mixtape in the works and a second album, Omaha, to be out near the end of the year. His inspiration comes from many sources, but, as the music that inspired him, it often tells a story. “Depends what I’m writing about or what’s going on at that time,” Patrick said, “It just starts flowing out of me. “What I consistently write about is my life,” he said. “That’s probably my niche . . . It’s more therapeutic to write for me than anything.” Patrick, who feels he has come into his own as an artist during the last two years, hopes to expand his career beyond the city’s borders.
“I would love to gain a national following,” he said, and is working with other artists to accomplish that. “I don’t know how to do that other than hustle as hard as I can,” he said. “I would love to gain as many ears as possible.” Patrick told Focus he enjoys performing in any situation or venue, but the ideal situation is one where everyone can soak in the lyrics, his heart, and his passion. “Reverb is my favorite. It’s very personal,” Patrick said of the Benson club. That was the site of his album release party, and is where he will host a series called “The New Wave” in the weeks to come. Creighton Baseball

Can anyone hear the chant, “Husker… Power?” The Nebraska baseball team has definitely heated up! After an early week tune-up at Creighton and a near melt-down against UNO, the Huskers handled the Terrapins (which, for those of you who don’t know, are turtles) who came out slow and sluggish, true to their namesake, against the red hot Cornhuskers. This is the second conference series win and the fifth in a row for NU dating back to last year.
CU Baseball 4-11 The Creighton Bluejays should have been smiling on Sunday. After a week that started with what seems to be their regular beat down by Nebraska, a 14-6 loss in Lincoln that included giving up a 10-run second inning, the Jays took two of three games and won their weekend series with No. 14 St. Johns.

Reportedly, official-looking “25 mph” signs that Anas “stumbled for a second” until he he presumably financed himself. could correct himself. “I’m so sorry,” Residents along those two miles of Franklin have long complained, but the he attempted to clarify. “My wife! city kept rejecting pleas for a lowered I love you so much from my heart.” [Virginian-Pilot, 3-6-2017] [Daily limit. Leading Economic Indicators It turns out that Layne Hardin’s sperm is worth only $1,900 -- and not the $870,000 a jury had awarded him after finding that former girlfriend Tobie Devall had, without Hardin’s permission, obtained a vial of it without authorization and inseminated herself to produce her son, now age 6. Initially Hardin tried to gain partial custody of the boy, but Devall continually rebuffed him, provoking the lawsuit (which
also named the sperm bank Texas Andrology a defendant) and the challenge in Houston’s First Court of Appeal. [Houston Chronicle, 1-252017] Most Competent Criminal An astonished woman unnamed in news reports called police in Coleshill, England, in February to report that a car exactly like her silver Ford Kuga was parked at Melbicks garden center -- with the very same license plate as hers. Police figured out that a silver Ford Kuga had been stolen nearby in 2016, and to disguise that it was stolen, the thief had looked for an identical, not-stolen Ford Kuga and then replicated its license plate, allowing the thief to drive the stolen car without suspicion. [Birmingham Mail, 2-5-2017] Least Competent Criminals (1) Thieves once again attempted a fruitless smash-and-grab of an ATM at Mike and Reggie’s Beverages in Maple Heights, Ohio, in March -- despite the owner’s having left the ATM’s door wide open with a sign reading “ATM emptied nightly.” Police are investigating. (2) Boca Raton, Florida, jeweler “Bobby” Yampolsky said he was suspicious that the “customer” who asked to examine diamonds worth $6 million carried no tools of the examination trade. After the lady made several obvious attempts to distract Yampolsky, he ended the charade by locking her in his vault and calling the police, who arrested her after discovering she had a package of fake diamonds in her purse that she likely intended to switch. [WJW-TV (Cleveland), 3-23-2017] [South Florida Sun-Sentinel, 3-31-2017] Great Art! At what was billed as part of a cancer fundraising event at the AvantGarden in Houston in February, performance artist Michael Clemmons and a partner, working as the act Sonic Rabbit Hole, had the elegant idea that one give the other an enema on stage, but there was a “spraying” accident. Viewers were led to believe the procedure was authentic, but the artists swore later that the sprayed contents were just a protein shake. “What I did is not all that (extreme),” protested Clemmons. “I don’t understand why I’m getting the attention for this.” [KPRC-TV (Houston), 2-20-2017]
The Passing Parade Two convicted murderers imprisoned in Nepal married each other in February, though it will be at least 14 years before they can consummate. Dilli Koirala, 33 (serving 20 years for killing his wife), and Mimkosha Bista, 30 (with another four years to go for killing her husband), will be allowed to meet (just to talk) twice a month until Koirala’s term ends. (A lawyer involved in the case said the marriage, though odd, was perhaps the last chance either would have to meet a suitable match.) [Republica (Kathmandu), 2-242017]

A News of the Weird Classic (July 2013) “(Supermodels) is the one exception (to U.S. immigration law) that we all scratch our heads about,” said a Brookings Institution policy analyst in May (2013). Foreign-born sports stars and entertainers are fast-tracked with American work permits under one system, but supermodels were excluded from that and must thus compete (successfully, it turns out) with physicists and nuclear engineers to earn visas among the slots available only to “skilled workers with college
