Hannah Ker These are satellite images from the surrounding Montreal region. They are what’s called a “false colour composite”, with the bright pink areas representing healthy vegetation. Rather than combining reflectance from the red, green, and blue portions of the electromagnetic spectrum, these images were generated by combining radiation from the near infrared, green, and blue parts of the spectrum. Looking at the Earth from this perspective allows us to see our surroundings in ways that we don’t normally consider and reveals beauty where we don’t expect it. Hayley Mortin These works are an homage to the awkward family vacation. Often, in our preteen years especially, the tension that exists between us and our parents while on vacation is conveniently left out of the picture. Arguments and quarrels about what to do, where to eat and the general ill-sense of identity are hilarious in my adult retrospect. However, at the time, they can make what is supposed to be a fun-filled vacation a stressful and cacophonous affair. I work primarily in collage because my mind is all over the place and I like getting my ideas on a page before they vanish completely. Anastasia Sylenko i enjoy exploring the fertile ground between dreams and real life, and the way the internal creates the external (and vice versa).

Emily Chee I wanted to make something that was rocking and rolling, and I feel like it turned out pretty funky! :)

Elli Slavitch I’m a third-year McGill student, and I draw to escape from the chaos of academia. Because it is easy to feel isolated and anxious and exhausted at university. I hope my art will lift your spirits, as it does mine.

Christine Luc I was born in the 90s but I always find myself admiring the 80s whether it’s the movies, the music or the iconic color palette. I try to incorporate those elements that I love with things from the present such as the Internet. Sometimes I don’t really know what my art means but I think it’s okay to be clueless about yourself. Gib Daitzchman So you guys rejected me last semester, but I’m very optimistic about this piece titled “perseverance”. I hope you enjoy!
