LAUGH ’TIL IT HURTS

DAVE CHAPPELLE Emmy-nominated comedian Dave Chappelle blasted onto the pop radar with his much, much-loved sketch comedy show, The Dave Chappelle Show. Prior to his domination of TV, Chappelle cut his teeth on many a standup stage, with memorable turns in films like Robin Hood: Men in Tights and the 420 classic, Half Baked. Unhappy with the direction his hit show was going, in ’05 Chappelle left it, focusing on family and returning to his skills of live performance, including a record 2007 appearance lasting six hours and 12 minutes. We don’t know if the 43-year-old comedic genius will top that for his four shows here, but we’re sure it’ll be time well spent! 7 & 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 and Thursday, Feb. 9, The Florida Theatre, Downtown, $65 each show; cell phones strictly forbidden in venue; anyone caught with a cell phone will be ejected from show, floridatheatre.com.
