ROBERT EARL KEEN For the last 30 years, Texasborn singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen has both thrilled and baffled music critics, since he likes to throw curveballs that defy accepted views about country, rock and all in between. But Keen isn’t writing for music scribes; judging by his mercurial ways, he probably isn’t writing for the fans, either. With 20 albums under his belt (nary a stinker in the bunch), Keen has tight ties with Lyle Lovett and was a one-time hombre of Townes Van Zandt. The 61-year-old Keen has covered myriad musicians from Jimmie Rodgers to Richard Thompson. Locals have two nights to check out this truly singular talent with his equally boss band; don’t miss out. 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12, with opener Ben de la Cour, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, $46.50-$56.50 each night, pvconcerthall.com.
