What is Dance Marathon? Fontbonne University Miracle Network Dance Marathon (FBUDM) is a year-round student organization at Fontbonne University and a member of the Miracle Network Dance Marathon family, consisting of more than 400 schools across the nation supporting Children’s Miracle Hospitals. We strive to raise money and awareness for the many children battling life-threatening illnesses through a variety of events during the year. All of the money that we raise stays local and benefits sick and injured kids right here in St. Louis. We gladly support both Children’s Hospitals in the Greater St. Louis Area - SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. With our help, they host more than 475,000 treatment visits in the St. Louis Area every year! Our year culminates with our largest event, a 12-hour long Dance Marathon to celebrate the impact we’ve made in our community. Students participate during the full 12-hours and refrain from sitting to show their dedication to the families and hospitals we support. Not only is the event full of fun, dancing, games, food and prizes, but students have the opportunity to meet and hear the stories of local children that have been treated at the Greater St. Louis Area Children’s Hospitals. Everyone involved experiences a life-changing event as they gain perspective of the challenges that the children we support face every day. We come together FOR THE KIDS!

Children’s Miracle Network Children’s Miracle Network raises funds and awareness for the 170 children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it is needed the most. When a donation is given, it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $4 Billion, most of it $1 at a time. Every child deserves the hope and healing of children’s hospitals. With the help of a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in their community, children of all ages and backgrounds can receive treatment for every imaginable disease and injury - from asthma and broken bones to cancer and heart defects. Children’s hospitals are also on the front lines of research, education and outreach programs that keep millions of kids out of the hospital each year.

Why We Need Your Help Brayden

2017 CMN STL Miracle Ambassador Every December, Brayden celebrates his re-birthday - the day he received his bone marrow transplant. It’s a day Brayden and his family celebrate how grateful they are that he is now cancer free. Brayden spent 130 days at St. Louis Children’s Hospital receiving chemotherapy and having a bone marrow transplant. Brayden says he remembers asking for french fries after he woke from being sedated for five weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, but he says his doctor told him he had to start with a popsicle. Later that week, he got his fries! Children’s Miracle Network funds help operate the inpatient and outpatient child life programs and equipment that Brayden benefited from during treatments.

While Brayden is a little shy when he first meets people, he is an energetic and happy kid that loves to laugh. With treatment behind him and in remission, Brayden celebrates life every day. Brayden’s favorite thing to do is ride his motorcycle. Get him talking about his riding and he comes out of his shell.
