What is Fontbonne Day? One day each year, Fontbonne closes its doors and sends phone calls to voicemail — the entire campus community is out in St. Louis, doing what needs to be done: building, washing, scrubbing, planting and serving at more than 25 different locations in need. Join us — we could use an extra set of hands!

campus & more

It's Your CAMPUS The Fontbonne campus is historic and modern, beautiful and well-equipped — from a library that’s linked to collections around the world to the state-of-the-art Anheuser-Busch Hall. And the campus layout is compact and easy to navigate.

On warm spring days, you’ll find students sprawled out in Medaille Meadow, swinging in hammocks, studying at tables and soaking up sunshine.

“Smart” classrooms fitted with built-in computer and audiovisual technology are located all around campus, even in our dietetics kitchens.

The Griffin’s Nest gives commuter students a place to store a sack lunch or even cook a hot meal.

Our Dunham Student Activity Center includes athletic and recreational facilities, with features such as a fitness center, elevated running track, aerobics room, snack bar, fireplace and an outdoor elevated patio — perfect for sunny afternoons.

Keara jumped into the Fontbonne experience, and now she's involved with a variety of organizations and activities, including the Fontbonne Ambassadors. Why does she like helping prospective students? What does she tell them about her university? Find out by watching Keara’s video.

Explore & ENJOY

Fontbonne is located in Clayton, Missouri, a beautiful suburb just 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis, a quick drive from Lambert International Airport and a short jaunt to any one of the city’s unique neighborhoods. Five state parks and hundreds of neighborhood parks make St. Louis one of the greenest regions in the nation and a beautiful place to visit. Our campus is just minutes from Forest Park — larger than New York’s Central Park — containing many of St. Louis’ nationally recognized (and FREE!) museums. Explore the park’s running or biking trails, rent a paddleboat to splash around in the Grand Basin or enjoy the summer movie series on Art Hill. * Saint Louis Art Museum

* Saint Louis Zoo

* Saint Louis Science Center * Missouri History Museum * The Muny

Downtown, there’s the City Museum, which defies description, but lets you explore, climb and shimmy through underground caves and towering structures. And three professional sports teams — Cardinals baseball, Rams football and Blues hockey — play in downtown St. Louis venues. It gets pretty exciting ... St. Louis sports fans are some of the most passionate in the nation.

Good to Know ... St. Louis was ranked in 2012 as the "happiest city for job-seeking college graduates." The list ranked cities based on career happiness, average cost-of-living-adjusted salary, relationships, environment, resources and more. Good news for Fontbonne students!
