Discussion Questions
1. The beggar, an archetype of society's poor and marginalized, sat daily outside the temple during Jesus's time. Who in our community is in constant need of healing and restoration? How can our church address both their spiritual and physical needs?
2. The beggar thought he knew the extent of what he could ask for (alms) but was surprised to receive more. What happens when we limit God's ability to bless us?
3. The healing of the crippled beggar marked the beginning of a new era, where God's love was extended beyond Israel to the least and the lost. How can we extend God's love to those outside our faith community, regardless of background or beliefs?
