UPDATE FROM MISSIONS COMMITTEE
MISSION EMPHASIS SUNDAY 2024
We live in a world where acts of kindness and charity are celebrated because we all want to make the world a better place. During these 2 weeks, our wish is for everyone to find personal answers and inspiration to the question “Is doing good, good enough?” So, this Mission Emphasis Weeks, let us open our hearts to listen to what is taught in the bible and see with our eyes the transforming work of God through the work of various ministries.
OUR MISSIONARIES
Pray for our missionaries, for good health, wisdom and perseverance in their respective ministries: QingWen (Cru), David Lang (SBC). Yi Wei (Cru), Xiu Hui (FES), John Amalraj (Interserve India), Chung Lee (Navigators), Simon Neo (Breakthrough Missions), Siok Ching (TTC).
In line with our priority to expose our youths and young adults to the work of Chistian ministries, we are supporting Wong Siong Min’s intership at SUTD Christian Fellowship. Freshly graduated from SUTD, she decided to serve for 1 year at SUTD CF instead of joining the workforce. Siong Min will share her internship journey and facilitate 2 workshops with the english and mandarin youths during these 2 weeks.
MISSION FIELDS
Batam – Pray for more FMC members to support and partner Jifeng and Grace in their mission work in Batam.
Cambodia – We continue our support for COS-Y and Joy Methodist Hostel (JMH) partnering MMS. After more than 10 years, we are seeing these ministries bearing fruits. JMH is now supervised by local couple Sokha and Heng Marea who had previously stayed and met each other in the hostel. One of the alumni, Phearun is back in his village running a growing kids’ ministry amongst his community. The JMH youths and alumni are also actively serving in Prek Toal Methodist Church.
India – FMC continues to support RSP , an indigenous mission organisation, since 2003 with prayer, financial support, short term mission trips which lately entail teaching retreats. We are holding a zoom retreat in September and planning a trip next year.
MISSIONS BUDGET
We praise and thank God for FMC members for faithfully giving and supporting our work. We met last financial year needs. Please continue to support Missions!

Discussion Questions
1. Which is more difficult for you to do: feeding the poor or sharing the gospel? Give reasons.
2. How can you show compassion and care for the needy in your community?
3. What can you or your group do to minister to the poor as well as share the gospel overseas?
