DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Why do you think Peter was initially able to embrace Gentile believers, only to change his mind so quickly when other Jewish believers appeared? Possibly especially Jewish believers from Jerusalem (Acts 15:1)?
What do you think of Barnabus’ reaction? Would he have not behaved this way if Peter had stayed firm?
2. Paul confronted Peter publicly on his unwillingness to eat with the gentiles believers. Do you think that a public or private confrontation was more appropriate?
Why?
How does a private or public confrontation benefit a) the Jewish believers, and b) the Gentile believers?
3. How different is a life “crucified with Christ” to a person who is not yet a believer?
What are some key differences?
How have you been living your “crucified life with Christ”?
Evaluate and share an area that needs possible re-working again in your life.
4. Do you think that legalism is a problem in your church today? Why or why not?
How can we possibly reduce legalism in our church today and yet continue to be accountable and to encourage each other in our walk with Christ (Heb 10:24-25)
