Lettuce Entertain You to Open Restaurant in Bal Harbour, Fla.

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is excited to bring Aba to Bal Harbour Shops in early summer 2022. From “Top Chef” alum CJ Jacobson and executive partner Marc Jacobs, Aba is a Mediterranean restaurant with a California-influence, known for its mezze-style menu.

This will be the third location for Aba, with the first in Chicago’s Fulton Market and the second in Austin, Texas. Aba at Bal Harbour Shops will mark the first Florida restaurant for Lettuce. Bal Harbour is a village in Miami-Dade County. “As we celebrate our 50th year in business, we are thrilled to be opening our first restaurant in Florida, especially in a place like Bal Harbour Shops, an iconic destination and community in South Florida,” says R.J. Melman, president, Lettuce Entertain You. The menu will incorporate flavors and inspiration from Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and Greece combined with Jacobson’s roots in California. Athenian Greek Cuisine has taken over the space that was formerly Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant at 8255 Georgia St. in Merrillville, Ind. The 9,000-square-foot space includes a small retail market area with Greek specialties and a bakery with delicious collection of authentic Greek pastries and breads.

Gus Bisoulis, who is a young 80 years old, has been in the restaurant business for many years. He says it was his lifelong dream to run a restaurant like this. Bisoulis, along with Andreas Andreou (in photo at bottom), have transformed the space into this beautiful Greek restaurant with the blue and white colors of Greece. The décor is light and airy. The menu offers traditional Greek cuisine. You will find skordalia (a Greek garlic spread), salads, pastitsio and moussaka, Athenian pork chops, lamb chops, roast leg of lamb, kebabs and fresh seafood. They have four types of gyros: original, chicken, pork belly and hand stacked steak and lamb. They are open for lunch and dinner and also offer catering.
