GOURMET EXPERIENCES FROM FIELD TO FORK
2 012 PRO G R A M M E
Food Safari: unique cookery courses and food events that go further than a traditional cookery school, giving you the opportunity to see the origins of truly great food. Meet and learn from the experts – share their passion and knowledge for farming, foraging, fishing, butchery or bakery. Get exclusive behind the scenes access to farms and artisan food producers – go behind the scenes and visit farms, smokehouses, bakeries and butcheries that are never normally open to the public. Learn new skills and discover new recipes – turn your hands to something new in our workshops and cookery demonstrations from shucking oysters to making sausages, from identifying edible wild mushrooms to filleting fish. Enjoy gourmet food and drink – all our events culminate in a gourmet feast.
Food Safari’s packed programme of courses and events goes one step further than a traditional cookery school. From a beautifully converted barn in the Suffolk countryside, not far from the coast, we run butchery workshops, wild food forays, fishing trips, cookery courses and visits to artisan producers – from bakers and brewers to cheese makers and smokehouses. On a Food Safari you will be inspired by people who are passionate and dedicated to producing great food and drink. Food Safaris make a fun day out with family or friends, and you’ll always learn something new – such as how to make sausages or skin a rabbit. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the gourmet meals, but I hope you will also start to think about food and drink in a new way! I hope to meet you on one of our events very soon!
