Hurricane Emergency Preparedness

Page 1

The East Coast has recently been dealt a hard blow from Hurricane Sandy leaving thousands of people with major wind and flood damage, and more are still without power weeks after the storm.

Hurricane Sandy became the perfect

storm as it developed far off shore and had a course that curved up the coast up to the north.

When Hurricane Sandy made landfall, it was

high tide washing more sea water up and far into the coast.

Making things more difficult, the

northern coast isn’t familiar with hurricanes unlike the Gulf Coast, catching citizens off guard.

Hurricanes are predicted in advance,

giving you an advantage against the impeding hurricane.
