SUMMER BRIDGE CURRICULUM
TRANSITION
The transition to college can be difficult, especially with the added responsibilities that come with being a student-athlete. Summer Bridge allows them to ease into their college experience while meeting others who are facing the same challenges. Additionally, students are introduced to various campus resources and staff that will help them throughout their time as a Husker.
EDUCATION
As a Life Skills staff, we are committed to the total person development of each student-athlete. Summer Bridge educates and emphasizes the importance of critical life skills such as: healthy behaviors and relationships, financial literacy, diversity and inclusion, goal setting, social media, personal branding, and career exploration.
FOUNDATION
Our mission is to equip studentathletes to be successful in all areas of life. Through community outreach, group activities, and guest speakers, student-athletes are given the tools to navigate college with confidence. Providing students with a foundation of knowledge and resources allows them to focus on school, sport, and growth during their first semester as a Husker.
SUCCESS
Summer Bridge programming prepares student-athletes to be successful during and after college. While Summer Bridge only lasts a few weeks, the students learn how to utilize resources that will aid them in attaining their personal and professional goals for the rest of their lives.

N-VEST
DEVELOPMENT - SERVICE - LEADERSHIP The goal of N-Vest is to aid in the transition, retention, graduation and preparation of underrepresented student-athletes. In addition, it equips student-athletes with visible role models who are a reflection of their diverse upbringing. Members receive a community mentor to help with their development. Alternative goals include creating a community in which student-athletes feel comfortable enough to develop relationships with one another and local community professionals, while learning the importance of mentorship, career and personal development strategies, and the role of being a good mentee.
