The aFFiliation
The aFFILIATION is a music group formed by Jamaicain Hohnke, Amanda J, and DJ Rifik. Jamaicain Hohnke is the emcee, and the leader of the group. He moved down from Michigan to Florida 2 years ago with Amanda J to pursue a music career and met DJ Rifik while he was spinning at Pelican Larrys. Jamaicain was impressed with the type of music Rifik was spinning, (old school hip hop) and gave Rifik a demo cd to play at the club. Rifik played a track off of that cd that first night, and the club went wild for it. Jamaicain continued to grind in Florida, and eventually became a staple at open mics throughout Naples and Fort Myers. By getting his name out there and meeting the right people, He began making connections and recording at three different studios. While Jamaicain was grinding and writing music constantly, Rifik was working as well, and overcoming a life threatening injury. After going through numerous surgeries on his foot and painful rehab, Rifik was ready to hop back full force into the music game. After being approached by Jamaicain again at Pelican Larrys, this time holding a cd with some new songs recorded in Florida on it, Rifik and Jamaicain both decided to go all in and combine forces on an all out assault on the music game.
are flying out to Los Angeles on April 8th to compete in the 2Racks rap Contest at The Dragonfly. The purpose of the aFFILIATION is to make music not available in this area. We are combining true, gritty, lyrical songs with dance type club beats and performing it with an energy not seen before. We have recently finished building our own home studio at DJ Rifiks house, and are in the process of not only making our own music, but setting up our own independent label as well so we can start recording other artists. A few things separate us from the pack. One, you have never seen a 6 foot 4 white guy named Jamaicain Hohnke that can rap better than anyone u know.... Jamaicain's onstage presence and lyrical delivery is intense, and bolstered by his onstage partner, Amanda J. Combining beauty and elegance with a rough hip hop feel, Amanda J's voice can be heard throughout the AFFILIATIONs music. Combine all this with the hottest DJ in Southwest Florida, and you have a recipe for a hip hop group never seen before. The goals of the aFFILIATION are many. Short term we are focused on winning in Los Angeles this month and making the next step to International travel. We are also working on our first official radio single, and first full album, due out this fall. Long term we are planning on having the first independent hip hop distribution label to come out of Naples.
Jamaicain was working on a mixtape called "Next 2 Blow", and he came up with the idea of making it a group album instead of a normal mixtape. His idea was to combine Rifik's club mentality and dance style to his gritty, raunchy lyrical style and make hip hop not heard before. As an added bonus, Jamaicain added several touches also rarely seen in underground hip hop projects. First, he had it recorded at 225 Studios, then he spent time at his dj's studio mixing it all together, and then finally had it mastered at 225 studios. Add in to the fact that the mixtape features production from Psycho Joe, lyrics from Complex, Ender, Psycho Joe, Jessie Hohnke, and Amanda J, and some of the hottest beats around, and you have "Next 2 Blow". The aFFILIATION became official on December 3rd, when at the Next 2 Blow release party, Jamaicain, Amanda J and DJ Rifik performed for a sell out crowd at Pelican Larry's and forever changed Naples attitude towards hip hop. The aFFILIATION continued to grow, and began making their presence known as Jamaicain won "Most Slept On" artist at www.jamaicainhohnke.com The Limelight Showcase Series in Fort Myers, and continued to perform throughout Naples, Fort Myers, Naples, Article submitted by and Cape Coral. Jamaicain Hohnke The aFFILIATION is currently nominatedfor 16 Ford Entertainment Awards and 8

Fab First Lady Niki

So how did you fall into the Radio field? Well my mom told me about the opportunity (105.5The Beat launched a quest for a female cohost for the Freakshow, their morning talk show) and said for me to try for it! And when she says "for me" really there’s no saying No...its more a directive than request. So I went for the job and here I am years later lovin it! If you had not applied or gotten the job, what would you be doing? I would've finished hair school and become a hairdresser. Ok soo, Where does the name Fab First Lady come from? The host, Flyin Brian gave me that name within the first few weeks of the Freak Show and it stuck!
Are there any cons to being a popular radio personality? Sometimes people feel like they KNOW me, but they just know the personality on air. I hate that I can't (phisically) touch every listener that has love for me. What really goes into making the shows. Well 1st A clear mind is needed sometimes You're feeling like s**t but you cant let it project on air to the audience. Then Tons & Tons of research , contacts and constant absorption of knowledge. Did I say research? Mornings are conversational for me , afternoon is more throughout and planned before I crack the Mic!
How does it feel to be voted #1 Female Radio personality in your listening area year after year? It feels really good to be accepted by my city, my region, community and listening audience. Doing radio you don't know if people appreciate your opinion and what you are doing on air. Then to find that people do and they think you're #1 at it is Awesome...like really Awesome. Does your on-air persona “Fab1st Niki” differs from the real life Niki? Overall I am Me, but you're only getting small bits and pieces of me at a time. It's the same yet different. Give me a Memorable moment.. Within the first few years we (The Freak Show) were on air, we beat out The Howard Stern Show in ratings (number of listeners). Like The Howard Stern Show! What is it that you love the most about your job! Yeah that was nice. I enjoy meeting people the most about my job, the regular everyday people. Don't get me wrong I love meeting famous What other things are you involved in, what pulls @ your people, but it's the regular people that listen and support me! heart strings? Find her at: The 239 Winner’s Circle LLC which is a group of woman that have gotten together to do charitable events and volunteering www.Firstladyniki.com Twitter.com/FirstLadyNiki in the SWFL area. Who are some people that you did The 1st show was back in 1994, had my events for? 1st party ever @Naples Jaycees (now Artist wise plies 6 shows, Lini 15 shows, torn down) Teen Nite. The 1st concert Trick daddy 3 shows, Mystikal 2 shows, was in 2000 Ying Yang Twins @Ricochet Jagged Edge, Betty Wright, Trina, Iceberg, in Ft.Myers Juvenile, Ying Yang Twins, Adina Howard, since oct 1994, 16 & 1/2 years
Which show was the most memorable?
Pastor Troy, I mean the list goes on & Wow, most memorable, tough to choose, on..I've pretty much met everyone in the so many probably Mystikal in 2002-2003 game besides Eminem @Neptunes in Ft.Myers What do you think is the most essential Which one had the biggest turn out?
Biggest turnout concert wise, tie between 1st Mystikal show & recent Jagged Edge concert @ Ultra in Naples- 1100 or me DJ Wise Harbsorside xmas 2006-2007. I think 2000ppl, but most ppl I've ever DJ’d in front of is 10,000 for 50Cent & Trina in West Palm 2004 How did you get started?
I got started back in 1994 wit 2 other
everyone wants to be a DJ & promoter, also no clubs wanted to mess with hiphop back then, now every club is basically surviving off hip-hop nights, its totally flip flopped, there was no hip-hop on the radio, no internet, no cell phones, everythang was literally hand to hand promo back in 94, but everyone partied no fights, no shootings, Florida bass music was on fire, music was alot better than today, totally different. Then I actually was DJing off cds & cassette tapes honestly lol, now its all computer-laptop, I also had records & turntables, alot more convenient now than back then, alot more opportunities have opened now with clubs & venues back then i was new to the game, no everybody knows me, other than that its still the same seen alot of promoters & djs come & go over the years Has there ever been a time where something went wrong and you had to improvise?
lol of course sometimes i get wasted & forget to turn a microphone on or somepart in planning an event? thin, ill just play another song until I figmost important, i would say the timing, proper promotion, & right entertainment ure it out lol, equipment wise back in the for target crowd, right venue for event is day when DJs had to bring their own speakers to the club or parties all the important as well How have things changed according to time, wires shorted out, amps blew, how you do things now verses when equipment cuttin off in the middle of paryou first started? ties, just gotta keep on DJing lol it hapAlot of things, in 1994 only djs were me & pens lol maybe 3 other guys no promoters, now 14
Who are some of the people that you work with?
Right now I cant lie, I have the best DREAMTEAM I've had in my 16years probably, the band has changed many times over the years but I've always been the lead singer, right now my brother HYPNOTIZE is back on the team, we fell out for a couple years, LIL TRAV is the only one that been riding continuously sense 2001, I partnered up wit ED DELLY from EM Ent, formerly DOWNLOW RECORDS & the rest is history, as far as industry ppl, I mess with all artist from local, to regional to national on a daily basis, plus every record label known to man, it would take me to long to name them all honestly, but that's THE DREAMTEAM RADIO roster as of today, 2011 Are their any upcoming events that people should look out for?
Of course the PLIES shows, EASTER SUNDAY@ The Lee Civic center in Ft.Myers, I'm trying to break the record for biggest hiphop concert ever in SW FLA & become the best or most hiphop promoter of all time in SW Fla, right now the record stands @ 4000ppl, & has only happened twice, once in 1991 for MC Hammer & Boys 2Men @ Lee Civic Center & secondly 105.5's 1st concert with OJ Simpson, Fabulous etc back in 2001, so its time in 2011 for PLIES, the hometown artist, coming home, all ages @the biggest venue in SW Fla, LEE Civic Center, which holds 8000 ppl, we have the official after party@ Coyotes in Port Charlotte in which Plies is performing also. We also have Ginuwine coming saturday May 14th to Coyotes, & big concerts lined up every month, just hit me up on facebook.com/ dreamteamradio to stay up on what big events are going on in SW FLA

Steve Riley
Meet Faces Artist Management Faces Inc Records Tell what it was like to work as a intern at Bad Boy Records, what was that experience like? My Bad Boy Records intern experience was amazing, and I only in the past few years really understood why it was, I interned at Bad Boy at a time when Bad Boy was just getting its feet wet in a major way and its buzz was growing crazy with Notorious B.I.G. I worked on the street-team promoting the single “Juicy”, I also worked as the intern Publicist for Bab Boy’s other recording artist “Craig Mack” and helped break the hit single “Flava in Ya Ear”. That record put Bad Boy Records on the map as we know it today. In your 10 years in this industry, would you say things are different now then they were 10 years ago? how so? Things are very different in the industry today, 10 years ago as an artist you could get signed to a major label just off a hot
demo, now you have to have a track record independently through record/digital sales, you have to have a fan base, and a major buzz with your name either in the streets or online and even then its not a guarantee you will get a deal. In the past decade, what has been your most memorable experience? I wouldn't say it was my most memorable experience to date, but its something I will never forget and that was being in L.A. when Biggie got killed. I will never forget that night as long as I live. You've worked on numerous shows, which one, so far has been your favorite to work on and why? I would say my most memorable good experience was being a part of the team who worked on the HBO Reality series “The Wire” I negotiated the deal for 1.5 million for the producers of the musical score “Darkroom Productions” What made you want to start your own label? I started my own label because I felt it was my time to go to the next level in my career. I wasn't moving to the next level I wanted to as an artist manager, I wanted a bigger piece of the pie, not just a manager percentage. 16
How many artists are currently under your label? Do you have plans to add more to the roster? I currently have 1 artist signed to my label, Florida’s next to blow, Fort Myers’ own “Big Goon”, but I also consult for numerous independent artists and labels. My plans are to sign a female R&B/Pop singer or male R&B singer by next year. What differentiate your label from others out there? What separates my label from others out there is my vast experience and knowledge of the music business, there is nothing that I haven't experience or seen on a first hand basis, so that gives me an edge in this fast paced entertainment industry. It feel s good to get that recognition especially from the home team. I usually gotta travel just to get notified but Its bout time we finally got an official award show for the crib. What aspect of this life do you enjoy the most? Being a father cuz at the end of the day its who I am when I come home. The fame and fortune don’t mean shit
What differentiate this new material from the last mixtape? My latest material is a little more serious as oppose to always being something upbeat or for the club this time I cater a alot when does the new mixtape drop and where can we find you more to people on their grind trying to make ends meet on a online? day to day basis. Its more empowering this time, Motivational Later this summer and you will be able to find it at livemixtapes.com and datpiff.com Tell us about life in the industry, do you enjoy the popularity? Popularity is cool, but its not about the fame . We know you recently became a father, tell us about about this life experience... Greatest feeling in the world and its more reason to grind even harder. You've also added Producer and singer to your resume recently, did you always produce? What made you want to or finally decide to explore those other skills? Most anticipated: sweetie What is something your fans should look forward to? Most definitely my mixtape “Sweetie Da Beast”. It’s highly anticipated. I’m also trying to get a video in line for “Foolin It”, which was actually the first song I ever recorded.
I heard that you write your own music. What inspired you to write songs like Foolin It, Beast, and Tickled Pretty? Wow, well, “Foolin It” is super personal. It was something I was going thru at the Moment so it was an extremely fresh subject matter. Beast and Foolin it was a Mixture if things I was going through and also things my friends were going Through. One of them said “Do a song about niggas having a good woman at Home, yet he fucking with these off brand hoes on the side”. So in Beast that’s where that “Fuckin’ Wit’ dem bottom feeders, lil Daddy U off glass” comes from.
What is it that you think makes your music so easy for people to relate to it? I take suggestions. Not only that, I don't sugar coat. It is what it Is. Everyone has a story to tell that’s similar to someone else’s.

I don't consider myself as a step mom... they are all my kids there's noo STEP in it. A few years ago my husband was shot and killed. From England to the Sunshine state‌. How old were you when you moved from England? I was 8years old when I moved here to the US from England How did you decide on pursuing modeling? What was the deciding factor on that? One of my good friends who also models Fauziah J'adore had been pushing me to do it so i decided you only live once why not it wouldn't hurt to at least try. Also my older cousin and brother modeled for a while so I wasn't anything new to me.
and priority so I've been able to have some free time lately so i have been able to pursue others things. What are some of the things/projects you've accomplished as a model so far? Well everything is still pretty new to me I'm doing a music video real soon with a local artist in Orlando so I am excited about that other wise I have mainly been trying to work on my portfolio. What aspect of modeling are you pursuing? Runway? Eye candy print modeling? etc.... Well I would loveee to do runway but I have to be realistic I am not runway height so I have been doing the Eye Candy but I'm more interested in commercial and beauty. What would be your dream modeling job? Well Id love to just work with Iman or Selita Ebanks. To be able to work with them I would be stoked . Any models you use as inspiration? Who and why? um Selita, Iman, and Tyra I think because they are women that have been able to break the color barrier in the modeling world with certain things. You rarely get to see women of color in such a position in this market and their demeanor and determination I find inspirational. How do you balance a college education and your modeling career? Well its a lot because i also work full time so i am constantly on the go and sometimes I have to be reminded to slow down and just relax. otherwise i just keep going an going. So I try to keep the modeling on the weekend so that during the week i can study and focus on school, it is and has been hard however. Is modeling your first focus or is that a back up plan to what you're pursuing in college? Oh no I will be honest modeling is not my first focus and I'm not saying I don't want it but in all reality i have to be practical and with my family school comes first. When you first started modeling, name 3 things that were different then what you had in mind. Um i cant really say too much was different I got to be around the industry so I got to see and hear a lot so I do not have answer to that at this time. What is the biggest misconception about the modeling world? Everyone is not a size 0 or 2...i think everyone thinks all models are small and skinny like that's not always the case I know I'm not a size 0. But models come in all shapes and sizes everyone seems to forget that no one has the same look...yes the small European look my over rule a lot but at the end of the day they are not everyone . Where can we get more info on you and your work? You can find me on twitter or Model Mayhem and Ethnicity talent.
How long have you been modeling? Ive actually only just started modeling school is my main focus

MuzikPro Entertainment: A Powerhouse
How was MuzikPro Entertainment created? Its crazy how I stumbled upon the name "Muzikpro" I remember at one point I thought I couldn't even rap or rhyme anything (2yrs ago). I was in Virginia living with my sister after a long term of school. Down the road, a friend of ours (Rashad) came and moved there with us. He was all about music, he's an awesome singer. He showed me a few things on Mixcraft which was the program we used to record our music. As time passed I noticed I started getting better and loving the craft. We was making a song called "Do Our Thang" I loved that song so much, I decided to see how far I cant take it. As songs were consistently being made I thought of us as "Music Professionals" I had already been in school for Media Art & Animation (Graphics) so professional fit me perfect. Everybody in Manassas that heard our songs thought it was good. So I shorten the name and Muzikpro was created.
the company to allow investment partners, founders and employees the opportunity to financially capitalize on MPE's profitability. Deliver services such as MUSIC PRODUCTION, SOUND RECORDING, ALBUM COVERS, WEBSITES, FLYERS, POSTERS, BIZCARDS, PROMO MATERIAL, ETC. We love the entertainment business. As we give you a piece of us we hope to get a piece of you from all our visual art to all our Music. All from scratch the label itself, we're trying to build fans and get a respectable spot in the entertainment world.
How many divisions/departments in MuzikPro, what is the purpose of each division? MPE is put together by two different branches that form the company as one: MuzikPro Entertainment is a small music label with several up and coming artists. (Slick The Apostle, Double L, Miguel, Cheddah Man & Sweet T) . With different styles that can always be placed into one. Also providing services for all Media Art Tell us a little bit about Muzikpro's and Music Production Microphone Junkies is a music label with its own genre and goals and purpose Our goal and purpose is to serve the best style. The Microphone Junkies currently music and media that anyone has seen or consist of ENVY and FREDDY KRUGER. heard. For your entertainment. Position This is also where all other audio services 30
beyond music are provided such as voice over’s, post-production, sound design, etc How many members in each division and what are their skills/roles Well in the Muzikpro department its (Slick The Apostle, Double L, Miguel, Cheddah Man & Sweet T) I am the President, Producer, graphic artist, media development and recording artist I provide the vision for MPE’s future. Leading the company towards its goals and success. The other members have key rolls (Double L) who is a beast when it comes to R&B also a producer. (Sweet T) who brings that female spice to the team and my Business and Marketing developer. (Cheddah Man & Miguel) has a unique flow which makes Muzikpro unique in alot of different ways. The Microphone Junkies currently consist of ENVY and FREDDY KRUGER. Nathan “ENVY” Vazquez Audio Engineer, Producer, and Recording artist under Microphone Junkies. Freddy “Freddy Kruger” Vazquez Recording artist & Graphic Artist. This is also where all other audio services beyond music are provided such as voice over’s, post-production, sound design, etc. Also providing services for all Media Art and Music Production
I understand that everyone in Muzikpro has education to back up their skill sets, was that the main qualification to being part of this company? What are some other eligibility criterias? Yes that's very true everyone has a acceptable education some more than others. That's not really the focus on becoming apart of Muzikpro. Most of us were all friends first so, it made it alot easier to accept the team. Basically to be apart of the team you gotta be willing to work hard to help the label itself. At the same time bring something to Muzikpro that will benefit everyone and self. Rather it be thru your music, promotion, media, business, etc. Keep in mind were called "Muzikpro" so Id expect everyone to be professional at everything they do.
How do you keep competition amongst the group at a safe level? or do you? Yea we do have a competitive instinct amongst each other. Only to make us better So far we have not had a problem with anyone trying to out shine the next man. We all on the same road. So when one comes hard at what he/she do the others match that and comes harder only to improve the label in its works. Where can we get more info/contact MuzicPro & the Microphone Junkies? www.muzikproent.com is our home website there you will find all
Are you looking for new members or is this a closed group? Yes Muzikpro is still an open group and looking for new talent Being that everyone is doing something different, how do you prioritize and keep focus on the music? I think its because all of us know our role. Sometimes we step out the box and get on each others level. Maybe ill do some graphics but the company & music is my role. We could be more organized with more members. At this time we got our place and if we stick to what we do best I think we will be ok. Usually we don't have a problem in that area When you guys are not working together, are you all friends? Yes. I've known everyone apart of muzikpro for 2yrs and more. I really believe in building a friendship/relationship with the members before you can truly understand each others needs, wants and benefits towards the company

Xhale Hookah 2 U
possible keep me from having to go to work for someone else? What upgrades could Ft Myers use? What could I turn my city on to? And it hit me “hookah”! Now not to say that NO ONE in By Esta Reid The origin of Hookah smoking can be dated millennia back and Ft Myers knows about Hookah because about a handful actually does but what could I do to step it up? So I thought I could its initial traces have been found in the North Western provinces of India alongside the border of Pakistan. It made its way buy a couple of hookah pipes, take them into the local clubs and share my pleasure. I figured it’s way better than cigarettes in the state of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The Hookahs of the ancient times were very simple, rugged and archaic in design. The (which I used to smoke) better than Black & Milds (which I never smoked) and legal, unlike Marijuana. initial Hookahs were crafted out of a coconut shell base. The Hookah headed for Persian Kingdom and made its way towards Pakistan, Afghanistan, many parts of Asia and Arab parts of Northern Africa. While on the way to Persia, Hookah smokers came across a new concept of Tombeik, which refers to a dark tobacco that is predominantly cultivated in modern day Iran. Tombeik is washed and packed in the large heads designed in the old style. Hot coal is then applied to the wet Tombeik and this lends a strong flavor to the tobacco. These primitive style heads of Hookah were more popularly known as "ghelune" amongst the Persians. The Hookahs designed at the time of Persian Empire are still crafted with hand using pieces of wood. By the nineteenth century, many women in Persia indulged in Hookah smoking considering it to be a great pastime activity. When Hookah found its way in Turkey, it gained momentum at a very fast pace. It became an icon of fashion and a symbol of high status. It transformed completely in terms of its style and design. It became quite complex in designing and attained its final shape that we find today. New additions were made like the introduction of brass and glass in the designing of Hookah water pipe. To enhance the aesthetic appeal, mosaics and elaborate paintings were added. Hookah saw tremendous popularity in its growth in the Turk society. It went to the extent of finding its way in the bars. The Hookah bar tender was given the same status as that of a chef, due to the extensive preparations required in setting the Hookah. The tradition of smoking Hookah went a step ahead and headed towards Lebanon and Syria, where it was named Nargile. Later, it migrated to Egypt and Morocco, where it got the name Shisha. In Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates., it is popularly known as Hubble bubble. In the contemporary times, Hookah bars are seen as a social place, where people discuss on varied issues such as politics and several local events. On that note, I was first introduced to hookah by my sister Darcy Nicole. As a matter of fact she bought me my first hookah pipe. On one of my visits to Atlanta, hanging out in the clubs, I noticed you can order hookah the same as you can order a drink! I was loving it! So you know how they say “despite times call for desperate measures”? on my quest to become self-sufficient, I began thinking, what could I do that would be fun, on my grown and sexy tip and something I love that could

Princess Johnson

I shared my idea with my girl, Ft Myers very own Princess Johnson who thought my idea was the absolute shit. And that was the beginning of Xhale as we were originally known. Because of Princess’ hectic schedule it was really hard to work because this is definitely not a one man (woman) gig. So like I said before, “despite times call for desperate measures”. We needed another partner, Hence, Leah Hernandez. Leah, what can I say about Leah short of she’s a Boss. We started out just me and Princess as Xhale now it’s me, Princess and Leah and now we’re, Xhale~Hookah 2 U. Where the Hookah 2 U part came from, I really couldn’t tell you but it was catchy and it stuck. Business, as in all new businesses starting out, is slow. We expected it. Like twin told me, it’s all about sticking with it. We’re working hard on schooling Ft Myers on the grown and sexy of Hookah. Now Naples on the other hand is a whole other story. Let me just say I love Naples. The look, the money and there’s not much schooling to do there. The people of Naples know more of Hookah than my town folk but it’s all good! We’re still going to stick it out with them though. It helps to have supporters in your corner like Twin owner of TwinCutz Enterprises, Tommy and Tony, owners of Twothreenine & G18 Entertainment, Jason Blend, Gabby , Jessica , Steve Woods, Bravo, Treasure Chest, Caridad, Joelle and of course my lil Zoe, Lady Chelle Queen of the World just to name a few. To be clear on exactly what it is the ladies of Xhale~ Hookah 2 U do and are about, in
a nut shell, we are a Hookah catering company. We cater to the Grown and Sexy. We service all types of events from clubs to private parties. So if you want your next party to be grown, sexy and out of the box give us a call. Twitter.com/HookahRista Facebook.com/pages/xhale~Hookah2u

Find your niche and exploit it…! By Janie Jennings Today’s market is wide open for the indie artist and label. Majors are no longer interested in spins and social media numbers for a deal. They no longer rely on BDS, Mediabase, Soundscan to make a deal sweeter. They must see real numbers that translate to sales. If your hype is built on false pretense, then your career will only be full of hot air. Be your focus DJing, rapping, singing, spoken word or even comedy, your brand awareness is the key. Are you exploiting your brand to the fullest in order to generate sales? Artists and labels must learn this part of the business and not just focus on the creative and performance side. Understanding your brand and that your music has a value is the foundation of your business. This is what the focus must be, the bottom line! Latest numbers are showing that 1% of all records released are generating 82% of the revenue in the industry (digitalmusicnews.com). This is a multi-billion dollar industry, so that means there is plenty of money out there for the EARNING. Indies today must use various avenues to generate multiple revenue streams. Your brand can sell anything from T-shirts to lighters to condoms, bottle openers, memory sticks, and key chains. No just downloads and CDs. The more outlets you have to build a brand, the more money and business you are able to generate. Unfortunately in our genre, we look at the money as a way out verses a way to build. Each of you has a focus or gimmick to your brand and an image that must be promoted to the masses. You will spend time and money creating, producing, developing, marketing and advertising your products. You must promote hard for others to learn, associate and like what you do. You believe in your niche enough that when others attempt to knock you down, you get back up and keep moving forward. Believing in your Niche allows you to push harder in the exploitation process. If you use social media, google ads, websites, posters, flyers, radio, and strong consumer marketing, you have created a plan and purpose. All of it must make sense and generate revenue. In today’s market, we do not have to wait for product to be available to consumers as we did in the past. Back in “those days” we would have a four to six month set up of a CD release so that product was sitting on the shelves at
retail. Today we MUST still take the same preparations. And those preparations still take a minimum of 120 days. Taking the time to set a plan to exploit your niche is of the utmost importance. Below are items that should be included in your plan. This is not a guide or a checklist, but only an introduction. Graphics – Photos, image, clothing, hair, makeup, ect – Must look professional and unique to you.
Bio – make sure your biography sells you. Tell your story and make it interesting.
Grass roots marketing – flyers, posters, stickers, T-shirts, ect
Viral Marketing – Social Networks, viral videos, blogs, website and online magazines
Publicity – Print, radio interviews, T.V. interviews
Tour – Promo runs – schools, lifestyle, car washes, rim shops. Beauty/barber shops, ect
DJ’s /Coalitions/Pools– email blasts, meet and greets, mp3 servicing, retreats, conventions
Mixtapes – physic al and digital placement
As you can see, NO WHERE in this list does radio play exists. During your set up stages, you do not need radio you need a story. To create and build your story it will take you no less than six months of grind and hard work. But in the end you will have created your niche and people will begin to look for it. Don’t get frustrated when you have to come back again with a second or third record. Keep up the work and you will find it will consistently build a fan base. Fans buy brands and music. All you have to do is give them something worth their time and money. Make them believe your Brand is worth their … time and money! Janie Jennings Industryworks@gmail.com @industryworks

If you lack the motivation of going to the gym and find it boring try a different approach to wellness. The benefits to a complete wellness regimen is endless opposed to only a fitness regimen. A fitness regimen is more just concerned with the exercise and how physically fit a person is and naming that as being "well". While complete wellness goes a little bit deeper. Complete wellness refers to social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health that extend beyond the absence of disease and disability. Wellness is a movement toward a greater awareness of and satisfaction from all aspects of life. This would include fitness, good nutrition, positive relationships, stress management, life purpose and so on. Complete wellness is what every individual should strive for because it focuses on being complete as a whole, mind, body, and soul. By: Shaina Eiland Certified Personal Trainer

Chris Brown– F.A.M.E. Love him or HATE him Chris Brown is back and he's sounding better then ever!!!!! F.A.M.E has me blasting every song minus the one featuring Justin Bieber (I can't stand his a*s). But other then that this album is crazy! I'm loving F.A.M.E, I gotta say Chris Breezy put in 100% in it, I def recommend this CD. Ladies he is goin in hardbody, fellas gotta cop this CD (might get you some a*s if you play it around the ladies lol) This is the type of CD where the only way to feel it is to listen to it! —————— Trina– Diamonds are Forever TRINA The Baddest Bitch is back with her new mixtape DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (Hosted by Ill Will & DJ Holiday) a 16 tracks plus a bonus remix track. Some of the tracks I'm feeling are BLACK BIRD Ft. Teairra Marie, CONVERT ME, CAN I Ft. Mya, AMAZIN Ft. Black Dada and GHETTO REMIX Ft. Maino, Brisco & Assasin. The tracks that I wasn't feeling to much are Diamonds Are Forever Into & Waist So Skinny (I only like Rick Ross part on this song.) One song that really has me feeling questionable & laughing at the lyrics is GHETTO Ft. T-Pain. With lyrics like: "You in the BENZ in da projects/Lights in yo mama name", "Dope game, Bond man,Bond money, bondmans/That's how you spend funds man", "Section eight, WIC checks, eviction notice/Getting served, child support, hood homes", "You claimin other people's kids" & what had me cracking the fu*k up was "Lace front, long lashes/Looking for a trap star" lmmfao I don't know if I like this song cause I know people like this & I can relate to some of the things OR if i hate it cause some ghetto sh*t we shouldn't be blasted out loud smh lmao.....Either way I recommend the download of Trina's DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER ——————— Plies– I Fuck With The DJ For those livin under a rock, Plies is a Florida based rapper bringing us that 239 flow & style. He released 3 albums under SLIP-N-SLIDE Records (The Real Testimony, Definition Of Real & DA REAList). Later on releasing Goon Affiliated under SLIP-N-SLIDE/ ATLANTIC Records. Plies also have a
number of mixtapes (Bottom To The Top, Streetz Iz Talkin, Shell & Marijuana, 1 Dynasty Music Presents: PLIES) thats just to name a few. Plies now bring us his new 11 track I FU*K WITH THE DJ Mixtape. Every track is bringin something different to the table, his first single is PD (Preacher's Daughter) Ft. Gucci Mane. The song that pulled me in was THE GHETTO, it has an ill hook & the beat is sick, one of my favorite tracks on the mixtape. LET'S GET IT, IN DA BUILDING & PD are also tracks I like. However DOWN BITCH Ft.Lady this track was doing good up until Lady's part fu*ked it up for me.......I'll pass on this song! Other then that I recommend the download of I FU*K WITH THE DJ. —————— Fella– Over Dose New OVA DOSE MIXTAPE by Fella. Head boppin tracks ON ONE, IN MY SYSTEM, & BIG MONEY are my favorites off the mixtape. I recommend the download, its different not on some pop rap, Each track have that hood style feel. He has a song called STAMINA Ft. Pleasure P and a song called I'M ON IT Ft Jeremih. Another track that I love is MISS YOU it's a dedication to those we have lost. This track is def a must, makes me think of my friend that past away (R.I.P Trip). OVA DOSE has that ride in the car/club flow def gets my thumbs up! ————— 239Turk-Respect Me This Mixtape has 18 tracks, I let every track play to get a feel of the music, the flow & to see which song did it for me. Fat & Dang Dizzle and Want From Me Ft. Dirty Red, Lil Rufus & Fat Gotta give 239TURK his props for goin in on these tracks. He has a different type of flow & style then what I'm into, but for the songs that did catch me he rep 100%.

I recall doing an interview with a reality show star on my sex talk radio show The Sensual Cipher and she said she didn’t like “giving head”. When I asked her why, she said because she didn’t like the taste, she was basically sucking on flesh. We laughed about it but I then tried to tell her things she could do to get over that “flesh” taste as I’m about to tell you.
At the end of the day, get creative but don’t let your hang ups with oral sex get in the way! As with everything in life, there are “work arounds” in the bedroom. Use them to your advantage and create a signature “technique” to wow in the bedroom. Boredom in the bedroom leads to boredom in the relationship. Now I could go on and on about this topic but I can’t give you all my game….Yet! Just keep in mind that in order to enhance your sex life, you Ordinarily I get emails on the insecurities women have sometimes need to add some things to your erotic arsewhen it comes down to their lover tasting them. They are nal. concerned about not only the smell but also the taste. In contrast to men, whose main concern is the taste of their semen, not necessarily the taste of their penis. Yes ladies I know there is a whole aisle dedicated to us but that doesn’t mean that it’s necessary. A lot of feminine washes & sprays have been found to lead to infection.
