Tell us a little bit about you:
What is your favorite subject to write/talk about?
I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale FL and even though I was considered a late bloomed when it came to sex. I say that because I probably was the last virgin in the class of 2001 at my high school (laughs). Anyone that knows me, knew me as a rapper. Yes I was the girl with all the guys in the ciphers at the lunch table & by the bus area. People are floored when they come back in contact with me.
My favorite subject to write about would definitely be relationships... namely how we communicate in them. If you can't communicate outside of the bedroom how can you communicate to have mind blowing sex? As far as my favorite thing to talk about it would have to be not so common ways you can empower yourself sexually & how to do things like bondage, anal sex and other sexual practices properly
When did you first realize you were interested on Human sexuality. Studying it?
How do you manage to keep your talks sexual yet classy?
Sexuality always intrigued me because its a part of how the sexes relate to each other and perceive each other. When I was in high school I thought about being a psychiatrist so I could be a sex therapist but changed my mind & studied business instead. I ended up coming back to sexuality seriously when I decided I wanted to go into the sex toy industry in 2006.
Hmm good question. I decided when I first started doing this that I wasn't going to beat around the bush and hold people's hand when it came to sexuality. My approach is authenticity. I connect with my audience/clients/well wishers. I'm a classy but candid & explicit person. Sex isn't dirty, its natural so I talk about it just as I'm talking about nail polish... with no pressure.
How did you get the name Hip Hop Sexpert?
How long have you been doing this and what's next for you in this field?
The name Hip Hop Sexpert came about in a weird way. While doing toy events they started to be more like seminars rather than about sex toys. Women & men had a lot of questions, and I had answers. My clients started calling me a sexpert and with the help of a friend of mine who was my mentor & has been in the industry managing artists since the 90s I added Hip Hop in front of my name so that my market would be able to recognize I am THEIR sexpert. I speak their language, wear their clothes, got their hustle... I am on par with their culture because its my culture. How did you get started in this field? I became a Passion Party consultant so in order to make my cake I had to study and know my stuff. This is where I was able to really connect with clients locally but I took it to another level in May 2009 when I started The Sensual Cypher sex talk radio show.
This month actually is my 5 year anniversary of my grind. I will be launching my group coaching sessions that cater towards singles to assist them in discovering if they are ready for love in June as well as hosting sex life rehabilitation webinars online because I have well wisher all over the world & people need what I have for give turn-on unbiased truth. The Four Levels of Exhaustion ebook will be released this fall as well as The Initiation & Game is for Those Who Listen Winter 2011/2012. Asset Relationship Center will be opening in June as well as the focal point for everything relationship centered. Tell us about the very first video you ever made...were you nervous? What was the subject? Lol wow the first video I made was a twitvid called Protein Facial talking about all the different benefited to having cum on your face. Hell yes I was nervous but I'm so glad I did it lol. It made me pretty popular with the Fellas as well. 13
How about the first article you ever wrote?

Born in Haiti and raised in New York and then Miami, R&B singer Qwote got his big break when he began working with rapper Trina. Their first collaboration, "Phone Sexx," appeared on Trina's 2008 album Still da Baddest. Later that year, Trina made a guest shot on Qwote's own single "Don't Wanna Fight," released by the Slip 'N' Slide label. Fast forward to know and you can't listen to your radio without hearing his newest single "Throw Your Hands Up" a Caribbean flow featuring Pit Bull that gives you vision of being on the beach with a straw hat and an umbrella in your drink. Ladychelle, sat down with the voice of Miami, to get to know him up close and personal. First, tell us briefly who Qwote is How did you come about with the nickname "Qwote"? The name was given to me from the local barbers around the block growing up. I was known for quoting statements...I later took it and gave it a more profound meaning....."Nothing but the truth". This is exactly what I write about, nothing but the truth
Being part of such a legendary label, does that add more pressure to your normal grind? Absolutely, but I don't think about too much. I grind hard because I love what I do and I know I am an asset to the label. This is a new era and new beginning for slipnslide in pop and I'm happy to be the first to launch it Your current single, "Throw Your Hands up" is doing really good right now, tell us how you came about to doing this remake? First of all the original version with Don Omar and Lucenzo is incredible, so when I heard it I knew I had to go in on it. I wanted to keep the energy the same. I did change the words but still kept the vibe of it. I knew I had to remake this record. It was a no brainer! You've worked with some of the hottest artists out of Florida. Is there anyone you've yet to link with that you would like to collab with? Yes I would like to work with Ricky Rozey Ross We know you were born in Haiti and raised in New York and now you're the voice of Miami. How did those three major locations affect you or your music? Well as for being Haitian, I was raised around a lot of Caribbean music so that surely influenced my music. New York was were my passion began and Miami is where the "doors" opened for me.
Tell us a little bit about your Haitian Heritage. What does being Haitian mean to you? When I think of my Haitian heritage I think of strong people fighting to be free and live life. What motivates you as person and as an artist to go as hard as you do? Other peoples stories of how they've achieved their goals despite their adversaries. Also my endless love and passion for music!
How to you balance your artist life and your personal life? I do that by always remembering to tell myself this is entertainment, the trash still need to be taken out every Monday and Friday by me. Lol

This is the record God that got me a major deal. I will always love that record for that. 22
Speaking of memories, what is your most memorable experience from your music career? Lmao..now I can laugh about it but then I couldn't. I did a show in club Crucial in Bankhead Atlanta (the rapper T.I. Club) and came out with my intro song which was rapper Shawty Lo song ,"Dey Know". Well little did I know the two were beefing. As soon as the song came on I swear I felt every ice in everyone's cup thrown at me. Man was I mad. Even got into a fight. It was just a disaster. I learned at least two things that night: do your homework before every show and damn T.I. got some dedicated fans. Lmao! What advice would you give to an up and coming artist fresh into the industry? Stay away from the negativity, focus on your craft, gather a great team, and don't worry about failing, its part of winning.

J. L. Ford was born in Orlando then raised in Webster, Florida. All before the age of 18, J. L. Ford was given away for adoption, raised in poverty, toiled in unbearable Florida fields to help put food on the table, subjected to bullying, joined a gang, faced death twice, failed high school twice, and even lost a child to abortion. Realizing his life could be more and mean more, he joined the army and was immediately sent to Germany before twice being deployed to Iraq. There, he faced loneliness while back home, he lost a beloved aunt, a dear Uncle, and a beautiful little brother. He has experienced the full spectrum of human emotion: pain, deceit, abandonment, loss, loneliness, insecurity, hopelessness, and the list does certainly go on. After the first heartbreak (as a result of cheating), J. L. Ford began avidly studying relationships, reading books and attending lectures on end regarding the subject. Rather than dwell on the negative, he saw an opportunity for self-reflection and growth. His experiences made him exceptionally adept at understanding how to help others make it through their own personal storms. To this day, you will never see him without a smile or lacking words to build, teach and encourage everyone he comes into contact with.
why womanizers act the way they do. Unlike conventional coaches, J.L.Ford focuses on developing introspective, positive patterns of thinking prior to investing in a relationship with another, affording people the tools to place themselves in a position wherein bankruptcy is far from a possibility. It's not what J.L.Ford has been through that makes his story one of such inspiration, but what he has gained from it. He learned to love the biological mother that he has never known because she gave him a chance at life. Through death he learned the value of life. Through the missed chance at being a father, he learned to move from past regret to welcome the future. He turned failure and low expectations into the fuel needed to finish high school, become a decorated war veteran, and a college graduate. Today, through blogs, podcasts, writing, and public speaking, J. L. Ford uses his experiences, wisdom, and understanding to guide others to better decisions, deeper thinking, and therefore more enriched lives. "Smart is learning from our mistakes; wisdom is learning from those of others." –J. L. Ford
Taking this passion and turning it into a degree in Sociology and Author of "Why They Cheat & How They Get Away With It" Woman's Studies from the University of Central Florida, J. L. Beyond Your Back Yard. Today’s market is so exiting for Indie artists and labels. If you have followed my columns over the years, I have never been a big FAN of Major labels. The music industry is like any other business, create/find great product and build the brand. Consumers will follow and so will the big companies. The business today is really no different than 50-60 years ago when there were no Major labels and music was sold at the local Woolworths or Mom and Pop record shop. We are in an industry that no longer gives out “Stupid-Idiotic” deals for millions of dollars. Majors are letting go the BIG Dogs who take salaries that are not allowing the companies much less the artists to make money. So where does that leave you? All I can say is sky is the limit. Look far beyond your own back yard.
I have lived in many cities during my career in the Music Business. What is funny is that I hear the same thing over and over. “My city won’t support…” or “I have to go somewhere else in order to make it happen then come back here…” Well in many ways I agree. If you want something different, then you must do something different. Take a chance and explore new areas, create new opportunities, build outside of your comfort zone. Whose says that you cannot build a business for your sound in Brazil, Japan, and Argentina? Study the culture. Does your story or sound fit them? Can it make sense? If so, just get out and learn something new.
The portals to other countries allow you to extend beyond your block, neighborhood, town, city, county, even the US. Many times we Americans are so caught up in our own views and self that we cannot understand much less attempt to listen to the creative artistry and real life that is in front of us. We have to be “better” than the next person. We have to find that “stunt” or make “attention” fall on us in order to feel like we are successful. The reality is, we are successful with each step we take towards our goals in this business.
