Ya Girl So Urban Dj Samore How Long you been DJing Since 2007 when it kicked off big , damn the years be going by fast! What is your specialty? Mixtapes, radio, clubs etc.. main specialty, radio and mixtapes...I'm working my way to the clubs and shows...but I can do it What was your first Gig as a DJ and how did you land that? OWL Radio (FAU Radio Station) - I had my show and we had an event they needed a DJ to play music, well I was like okay lets get it done. So I did that, since I had my show on , that was a great way to promote my show and play music to see the people reactions to the records I play, my bad, I mean break. What current projects are you working on? My radio show, Urban Ent Radio Show, I'm building up the syndication of the radio stations to play the show which is a nice list right now, visit www.sourbanentertainment.com for current stations now broadcasting the show,I'm tighten it up now too look more attractive to the corporate people, my goal with the radio show is to be the female version of the Steve Harvey morning show, or The Breakfast Club in new York. Also, In 2011 I started "Da Urban Playlist" I think I'm going to keep this edition into 2012, because before that I drop "Da Urban Playlist", there was "R&B vs Hip Hop" in 2008 that kicked it off for me in the MixCD game; keepin it urban 2009 series, the female mixtape I just dropped drop one every year, this year Shanell from Young Money hosting. Coming up One Chance is hosting R&B Swag vol. 2
mixtape dropping in October, they are with T.Pain's Nappy Boy label. I don't know when this interview is dropping but Oct 3rd I'm going to start working on an exclusive project let's just say we bringing "R&B back to the streets". Aside from DJing/Radio Hosting, I have my own A&R management company and promotional services, Urban Ent Music Management & Urban Ent Promotions all under "The U.R.B.A.N. Company". What made you choose DJing as a profession? The love of music and entertainment; I cant sing nor rap but I love the music industry, and this was my gateway in. What is the BEST thing about being a DJ? Breaking new records! Making people feel good via the music I play and/or entertainment I bring via my radio show Urban Ent radio show. #theUEshow. What has been your most memorable moment so far in this industry? Interviewing people like Jagged Edge, Flo Rida, Gabrielle Union, Omarion and Marques Houston, I could go on! but live in the building with Jagged Edge on my radio show. What is your dream gig? The next big urban national syndicated radio show up there with Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner, even the 9
Breakfast Club in New York. What role do you personally play when it comes to breaking records? I am my radio show's music director and program producer, so I choose what songs are in the monthly playlist! Any record can be broke, if the record is not the best record, it can be broke! It's playing more than 1 time on the show, or more than 1 time at an event. Playing and Breaking records two different things, breaking the record you are exposing the record to more medians than just playing a record on a radio show or DJ set! Finish this phrase: The Game Needs me because come on I keeps it urban babby!!! URBAN = REALER THAN EVA DIGGG!
Lola Sims Public Relations What made you decide to go into Public Relations? I actually fell into it. Coming from a background in journalism I was writing for a lot of magazines from all over. I started to work with different artist on getting them in more magazines and realized what I was doing was actually Public Relations. At that point I realized I needed to learn more and began interning with as many Publicist as possible. I learned what worked and what didn't and it definitely shaped my career path. What sorts of education/ preparation did it take before you were able to launch yourself in that field? The biggest thing I had to learn how to do was write. Being able to convey in words a message that can either land your pitch on CNN or in the garbage is a skill that must be learned. If you know how to write you can provide content as well as help shape the image of your client. Plus writing Press Releases and Bios is a big part of the day to day work that keeps a project on track. Who was your very first client? The very first artist I worked with was Deuce Poppi who was signed to Slip N Slide. This is the project that allowed me to learn about the PR side of things. The first project I took on by myself was a video for Nashville artist West the Hustleman and that's when I knew I was
hooked. We got so many placement that it helped launch me into the field the right way. Back to your life in Public Relations, what makes a great publicist? A great Publicist is someone who believes in the project and is not just there for the monetary compensation. They have to be able to know what you want before you want it and also timely send out correspondence to make for the maximizing of coverage. If your not that well known then your publicist has to know people in order to get your point across. When choosing a publicist do your research. Ask to speak to past clients or references but most importantly make sure that your comfortable with that person since there has to be a good relationship for communicating purposes. What is the importance of a great PR person in an artists' team? Its highly important, when your ready. You have to be prepared with the quality tools needed to work a successful campaign. Things such as industry quality sound and professional photos help publicist to better pitch and market the artist. What should every artist know about this business? What's the secret to success in this business? 10
Things don't happen over night. This business is not for the lazy or those who are offended easily. You have to work two times harder than the next, have tough skin, and be open to criticism. I've seen a lot of people mess up situations because they weren't patient or didn't have the proper preparation. You only really get one shot to introduce yourself the right way so it has to be handled with care. Who are some of your clients now that we might recognize? One of our recent acquisitions include Mizay Ent, French Montana, Waka Flocka, Wooh Da Kid, One Thurd, and Bricksquad Monopoly Where can you be found? I can always be found on twitter @LolaSims but I can also be reached quite easily through email at LolaSims@gmail.com.
Delivering both glam and grime on tracks, Cartier Kitten is a force to be reckoned with. Discovered by Mizay Entertainment CEO, Debra Antney at a Florida Music Conference, this 19-year-old Delaware native is one Kitty that doesn’t play nice. With her lyrical claws already coming out to play on tracks like “Snake in the Grass” off of Waka Flocka Flame’s 2010 debut album Flockaveli, she’s continues to prove that she capable of holding her own. Bringing sexy, eloquence and originality back, Cartier Kitten will be well worth the wait. And for Cartier Kitten, it all sounds oh so purrfect.

Bang Boogie On The Mic
How did you get started in music? I started playing piano when I was a wittle toddler at 3 years old. That love of music was eventually transferred into a hip-hop infatuation at the age of 9, which is when I wrote my first rhyme. being from the South, I was all about that Cash Money, bling bling, the block is hot tip and formed my own group in elementary school with two other 4th graders. Started spittin' about chains and cars I never had and ever since then I've been hooked. How would you describe your music? My music is straight Soul-Hop. Get you some soul infused hip-hop, blend it with some Florida Steez, add a pinch of funk raps mixed well with marijuana, and you've created the perfect Bang Boogie concoction. Sip slow.
What's your motivation when it comes to this music game? The love is my motivation. My passion for it fuels the love, which in turn has my drive equivalent to the Indie 500. Even as grimey as this industry can be sometimes, it gives me life. And when your music comes from a good place, which mine does, you'll never lose. What makes you unique as an artist? Well since I have a vagina, 97% of the time I'm automatically thrown in a box. My goal is to break down those gender barriers that have been set up in hip-hop. My content is not filled with sexual explicit lyrics, nor do I degrade myself in any way. I like to think my bars are unisexual, they appeal to both male and female. Cut off that [female] segregation, I'm just a rapper. A really good rapper.
12
What part of doing music do you enjoy the most? There's really nothing like the feeling of making a really dope song, but the rush i get on stage is a drug worthy of Kurt Cobain's veins. I feel like Waka Flocka on redbull when I get out there. If I had dreads, I'd be shakin' them muhfuggas! On the real though, every part of doing music gives me a high. If you could collab with any artist, who would you choose and why? Definitely Kanye West. He's always been one of my biggest musical inspirations and honestly, I just wanna talk some ignorant shit with him. Maybe he'd let me whip that topless Maybach that was in the Otis video? I know he's bout that life. A girl can dream, right?
If you could compare your music style with any current mainstream artist, who would you compare your style to and why? I wouldn't . I'm focused on constructing my own lane so why stop for comparative commentary? I've been inspired by artists, but in no way am I comparable to them. They are who they are, and I am who I am, and my music reflects that. What are some of your goals in music? Other than being mentioned in your top 5 rapper list, my goal is to create equality in the music game for the female gender. Like I said before, let's dead that [female] word we throw so recklessly around. Women work just as hard as a man in this industry, sometimes even harder just to gain respect. And when respect is due, ya better PayUp! (see what I did there). Don't you dare call me a feminist though! I'm a humanist.
What made you choose to be an artists? Artistry chose me. The fire was already burning, I just rolled with it and here I am. Where can people get more info about you or check out your music? PayUpGame.com that's my team by the way. We're outchea! You can hit up datpiff.com/BangBoogie: Boogie Nights to listen to my latest EP Boogie Nights. Or if you really feel like being that dope ass fan, search bar Bang Boogie - Boogie Nights in iTunes and cop that! Lastly, thanks for this opportunity Lady Chelle! :)

Dollhouse Radio’s own:
Sexy India
Since the age of 10, India, had always dreamed about doing music. IN HER JUNIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL she got her break. She started a girls singing group, Harmony Innocent, with some HIGH School friends. They practiced everyday after school, weekends and every free moment they had. After becoming local favorites, the group met a producer . He had worked with many R&B heavyweights. he took on the girls and polished their craft and after a lot of hard work they received a record contract They release the single, "That's What I Like," which quickly climbed to the top 100 Billboard Charts. India was balancing her freshman year in college when the group started to fall apart. Harmony Innocent broke up two years later. INDIA IS FOCUSING ON HER MUSIC. again ... “when I was 7 I wrote ,I wrote my first
song and I knew then I wanted to do music or be something associated with the Ent . Industry. I would sit in front of the television dreaming of the day I would for sure be watched by everyone.... my great grandmother kept me and my sisters in church and that's where I found I had talent.... the first time I heard my song on the radio me and my group members were driving to go promote our album and while in the car it came on the radio and we went crazy... being only 17 that's was one of the greatest moments of my life .” What happened with the group? The reason for my group separating is like any other girl group.... we didn't get along we all had different personalities and point blank we were tired of each other ... 14
If you had a chance to reunite the group, would you? I think my group was something special we could've done even bigger things but when egos get in the way its all bad ... I don't think my ex group members would come back together its complicated lol You retired from the Adult industry before jumping back into doing music. How did you began your career as a porn star? I started doing porn in 98 ....it wasn't suppose to happen but it did ... I grew up a lot being apart of the adult industry , I retired because it was my time too ...I was in the biz 11years ... I wanted to pursue my other goals .
What are some of the differences/ similarities between being in the Music Industry versus the Adult Industry? I don't really see a big difference from porn and music biz .... they both are tough industries you have to be strong and don't care about what people say and think.
You're currently working on a book about your life. Tell us a little bit about the book. My memoir is very important , I let people into my life and I open up about things I never talked about
before ....my story is to inspire someone out there to be better than me ... don't go down my path learn from my mistakes .... I don't regret any of it but I do want the young female adults to know there is a better path to go ... porn isn't for the faint heart ‌ Artist/Author/Radio Host...how do you balance it all? I have a lot going on I'm also working on a secret project that I will update you on in a few weeks its going to be special sometimes I take a day off and try to relax but I cant I'm young I have to keep going ill rest when I'm old lol
How did your show come about? Tell us a little bit about Dollhouse Radio My radio show dollhouse came along in 2009 I started it because of my fans they missed me from porn and they gave me the idea to do a radio show so its them I thank because dollhouse radio is doing great!!! Which out of all your careers have you enjoyed the most so far? Music will always be my love but seriously i love entertainment its my life .......
What's next for you, where do you see your career in the next couple of years? What's next for me ??? Well I want to also pursue acting .... in college I minored in drama so that is on my to do list and maybe in a few years have a family
What is the biggest misconception that people have regarding the Adult Industry? Most people think most porn stars are hoes and we do anything ... I cant speak for everyone but I am very picky with who I choose to let in my personal life most people watch porn and think its all 100% real we are actresses and its our job I know it sounds funny but when the director yells cut its a wrap ... lol I think people need to get to know these girls and then they will see we are just like them normal!

All About
What was the first song u ever recorded and what inspired it? Wow that was at least 8-9 years ago lol...First song I ever did was called "Two Shots." It was a record about giving ppl two shots to get me...after that it was a wrap...I listen to it now and I'm like ughhhhhh lol its no where near as dope as I am now yet back then ppl were loving it...go figure How would u describe you music? My music isnt traditional "girlie music" I tend to make "upfront, in your face, reality" type music. I talk about everything I myself as well as other women go thru from heartbreak and bullshit relationships to hustling try-
Miz Smurff
ing to take care of a child by yourself. I just rep for the REAL women and the things we REALLY go thru. I feel like we've always been overlooked. Where did you get your stage name from? My best friend Eclipse gave my nickname as a kid cuz I'm so short. I've grown since then but I'm only 5 ft tall. How do you juggle your personal life and your music career? Personal life??? What personal life??? Nah, but seriously it used to be hard for me to do but now 16
I don't date civilians anymore. (a civilian is a person outside of the entertainment industry or that isn't an athlete or someone who's ever been in the public eye) Everybody has a preference and I have friends in the industry that won't date in the industry but I'm the opposite. I've had too many rough experiences with jealousy or ppl not understanding or supporting my career to where now I wont date a guy unless he has his own thing going on career wise. Its just easier for me. When I date a guy who's an athlete per se` he's just as busy as I am so he doesn't have time to trip over me being busy. He's just happy when we both have a moment and appreciates it as I do.
Whats been the most challenging part with being a female MC? The jealousy I get from guys. No one could've prepared me for it and I NEVER thought it would happen because I'm a woman and they're men. We're not even in the same lane. I get alot of guys who get upset because I go harder than they do. Or they want me to dummy down my features. Or even worse I get ones who are jealous of me because I get more accomplished than they do. They're to lazy to understand that I get more accomplished simply because I work harder. I do the work people don't. I rarely pay for shit. I don't pay people to get in the streets for me. I go to an area and get do it myself. Looking back on where you are now, verses where u started and the routes you took, what are some things you would have done differently? I don't think I would do anything differently. I think the only thing I would change is I wouldn't have taken a break. I caught a heavy dope charge back in '07 and afterwards I kinda went on a hiatus. Not to mention I was in a bad relationship where the person I was with wasn't supportive of my career. But even with that I don't think I would change anything. My journey just keeps me with great material for my music. What was the most valuable piece of information or advice you received? To do ME. I'm much different than any of the other femcees. So sometimes I get labels that wanna change me. But a wise person told me a while ago that as long as I con-
sistently continue to make great must people won't have a choice but to fuck with me. And they were correct=) What was it that made you want to become an artist? Its my passion. I've loved music since I was a kid. I can remember having EVERY Jay-Z cd that ever came out. I used to want to be "The female Jay" lol. Indie or Major? Why? Indie for as long as possible. I love that I have 100% creative control. My music is my baby. I wanna be able to present it from MY perspective for as long as possible. When and if a major does step in I want to be such a commodity that they HAVE to let me continue to do me. The music industry is very demanding, expensive, and time consuming. What keeps you going? I've sacrificed waaaaaaay to much to stop now. I can't afford the loss. When u decide to do this shit it 17
consumes you. To quit is to automatically fail and take a loss. Its just not an option for me. Plus I've got too may people riding on my success. its not just MY success. When I succeed, we ALL eat.

Born Fershgenet Melaku in Ethiopia, raised in Washington DC, Lola Monroe began writing music by age 12 and hustling by the age of 15 to provide for herself. Entering the modeling industry back in 2006, she then became a video model who worked with many music artists such as 50 Cents, Ludacris, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Lloyd Banks, Busta Rhymes and many more. She was featured in many magazines and became "Eye Candy of the Year" two years in a row. She also did some acting and has four mixtapes under her belt, "Boss Bitch's World", "The Art of Motivation", a collaboration mixtape with "Lil Boosie Untouchables" and Batteries Not Included. Lola Monroe continues to work hard for her love of music. Known as "Angel Lola Luv" how did you come up with the name "Lola Monroe"? Well, LoLa is a nickname I have had for years before I got into the entertainment industry. It derived from LoLa Falana. When I transitioned into pursuing my music career it was time for a name change that best represented me. Marilyn Monroe is someone that I have admired and related to for a long time. From her passion to conquer to the way our pictures resemble. People see my images and have always describe me as the black Marilyn Monroe. Our careers started off in similar ways and we both went from modeling to music to acting. I came up with LoLa Monroe which fit my persona and natural character perfectly.
You first made your acting debut in the Wendy Wiliams biopic "Queen of Media" then later in "Crazy like a Fox" and 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct. What things went through your head while experiencing your first taste in acting? I loved every moment. To be able to explore a new talent and turn it into a new found career move is an amazing thing. I will continue the acting aspect of my career while focusing my music What made you decided in 2009 to leave modeling and concentrate more in music? I actually started my transition and left that part of urban modeling in 2007. I always knew I would eventually make my full out transition so that I can pursue my love for music. I mentioned that in my many interviews as a model. Timing is everything. I was at my high and in high demand when I decided to totally stop and transition. When you are serious about something you have to be able to sacrifice certain things no matter the money that is being offered. Its all about being determined, disciplined and ambitious toward what you believe in. Who are some artists that have influenced you? Jay Z was one of my influences coming up. When I fully got into my music Los and amazing artist from Baltimore music became an inspiration to me. You've been writing music since you were 12 years old, when you hit the studio to record your first mixtape Boss Bitch's World, how did it feel to hear your music come alive? 19
I didn’t officially start writing music until a few years ago. When I was around the age 12 I wrote a lot of poems, around the age 14 I started to rewrite R&B songs as an escape from my problems and worries. It was an amazing feeling to be able to record and bring those emotions to life. I have always been my own critic so at the same time there was and is always a process where I listen and see how I can make my next mixtape or song better than the last. What seperates you from the other female artists in the game? A lot of things separate me, from where I come from, my story my demeanor to my movement. I feel like all the girls represent something different and that dope because the game needs diversity. How was the chemistry with Lil' Boosie while recording Untouchables? I was dope because we were both extremely focused on knocking out 1 whole mixtape in 3/4 days and that's what we did. It was all day and night of writing and recording in the studio. We also got to shoot a video with in that short time. We didn’t have time nor were find others to cast for the video so we played the roles and knocked it out. In the album Batteries Not Included, you have a single with Trina called Overtime, how was the vibe? and would you do it again? Oh yes. I love Trina. That's like my big sis. We always work great together. I featured on one of her singles prior to mine and we also collabed on the 'Run This Town” remix for my 2nd mixtape. When it was time for me to drop my single I recorded 'Overtime' and thought she would be perfect for it. I sent it over to her and she killed it for me. I also just recently did a verse for another record she will be dropping soon.
You created the Bosset Movement, you say its empowerment of women. What type of women fit this movement and what is your purpose for it? Every single type of woman that is a determined fighter and leader fits my Bosset Movement. This movement is not about what you posses materialistically its about what you posses mentally. It empowers those that have failed or fell to get back up and become Bosses of their own life. Take control and fight for what ever they want to do or become. It doesn’t just focus on women all though I push for girl power first. This movement is for all sexes no matter your sexuality. My gay fans asked me to come up with a name for them the
way I did for MyBossetes so I came up with Bossie-Boiz and they love it. I have so many Bossie-Boiz and Bossetes on twitter. I'm glad I can be that positive influences in their lives. You were nominated for Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the 2011 BET Awards, What ran through your heard when you heard the news? I was humbled by it. I appreciated the recognition of my determined grind and movement. What went through my mind automatically was “OK its time to go harder than ever” I feel like this is only the beginning and it was a great accomplishment but its nothing 20
compared to what I plan to accomplish. Its only the beginning. What are some new things we can expect from Lola Monroe? New music, music, music! I'm working on new production. I'll be dropping my 5thmixtape next titled “The Crown Aint Safe” hosted by DJ Ill Will. I'll be working on a lot of different business ventures like my new eye wear line called “L.M” I'll be deigning it with Stevie Boi creator of SB shades. He designs shades for a lot of different celebrities like Lady Gaga, Black Eye Peas, Beyonce, Kanye etc. I have a lot of different things I'll be doing. I'm excited about it all.
Music Executive : By: Jessica Jamz They say she has the magic touch. When she sets her sights on the launch of an artist, Debra Antney doesn't stop until she crosses the finish line of success. As the reigning CEO of the machine known to the world as Mizay Entertainment, Antney has help to mold and direct the careers of multi platinum artists whose names ring bells just as loudly in the streets as the do in suburban high schools. But that's the old story. Here at Mandatory Business is about what's now. So with her ever present son Waka Flocka symbolically overlooking the new crop of Mizay artists, "Auntie Deb", as she is known in the industries gives us some insight on just who is up next.
Debra Antney
Her crop of next up artists seems to tilt toward the fairer of the sexes and with the Mizay "formula" fueling the fire, your radio is soon to be ablaze with her appointed squad. Hip hop artists Cartier Kitten and Muffy hold it down for the emcees, award winning writer and "hardest working woman in R&B",Tarvoria gives the guys fever with her Boss Chick themed melodies and Lissa, 1/3 of the trio One Thurd serves fierceness and youthful beauty all while
"It's all about girl power right now", starts Antney. "I want the women to come back out strong and show people we can work together and get things done." As a former social worker, Antney has seen women and children at their most desperate. Sharing stories of sadness and triumph from her days in social services is one of the things that touches the sometimes stoic CEO to her core but it is also a motivating factor in her quest to uplift women around the country and the world. "I want all of my girls to know that they are strong, brilliant and talented. I teach them to be self sufficient and show them that in business and in life, being a women is a fight worth staying in the ring for". 21
keeping her lyrics 100% clean. With her current focus on creating more stars, expanding the Mizay Entertainment brand, and continuing her charitable outreach through strategic alignments within the community, Debra Antney is a woman that does it all. In the meantime be on the look out for her roster of hot female artists.
Dj Dimepiece The Mixin’ Vixen
Coming from California DJ Dimepiece headed out to Nashville, TN Fisk University to follow her college career. Always wanting to do radio DJ Dimepiece decided to become an intern at the University’s radio station, 88.1 WFSK then later on Blazin 106. She then landed positions in other radio stations that got her to Chicago to continue her career in radio and also becoming prominent DJ at 107.5 WGCI-FM, DJ Dimepiece did as well some DJing at some of the premiere clubs in the city.
What was that interested you in becoming a DJ? I never thought that I would be an actual DJ. I've always wanted to be Radio Personality since a young age. After studying Radio and hosting my own show on our college radio station is when I gained interest to become a DJ. We had turntables that we purchased to play vinyl during our shows,
and after getting encouragement from close friends, I begin to learn the craft and here I am! When you first started DJing were you nervous or did it come natural? I was actually nervous. My first DJ experience was unexpected. My mentor DJ Derek Jurand had me spin for a little while because he mentioned that he had to use the restroom. Well, I thought that he had to use the restroom until a few minutes turned into a half hour, then an hour. I later found out that he actually stepped away to let me DJ on my own, in front of a packed club. It was sort of a test from hours and hours of practice in the comfort of my own home...lol. Definitely needed that breakthrough to become the DJ that I am today.
22
What experiences did you learn while working at the different radio stations? I learned that if you want something, you must stay focused, always work on perfecting your craft and work extremely hard. Positions in radio can be very limited so while your there, you have to give it your all. What made you decide Chicago was the place for you? I personally thought that it was time for change. I have been in Cincinnati for quite some time and wanted to relocate to a larger market, such as Chicago. From past opportunities of spinning and visiting Chicago, I've always felt that residing there would make my mission of moving to the top complete. So I packed up my things, stepped out on faith and moved to Chicago with aspirations of landing a job in radio and the clubs in the city.
Dime Time Radio is where you host and mix, how does it make you feel to know so many people are listening? I love it! That's every radio personality's dream, is to have a large listening audience especially with all the competition out there, such as iPods, Radio phone apps, online streaming, CDs and Satellite radio just to name a few. I've worked very hard to build the "Dime Time Radio" brand, so it is rewarding to know that people enjoy tuning into my show regularly. Are there any projects in the making? Yes, I am currently working on a Mixtape with DJ 33 1/3. We have a DJ collective entitled, "The Favorites" and plan to release mixtapes regularly, as well as specialty events throughout the city and Mixshows.
To the young girls following your foot steps, what advise do you have for them? Make sure that whatever it is that you are pursuing, to be passionate about it and always work towards perfecting your craft. I promise you, if you do those two things, everything else such as money and more will follow. Not only you are winning in a male dominated profession, but you are also doing it while keeping it sexy. How do you balance it all? I always make sure that I am having fun. If you do that, then balancing everything is almost second nature. And as always, I'm a female first, then a DJ, so I ALWAYS have to keep it sexy! Can you tell us about some of your coalitions/Partners? I'm a Mixer and on air personality for 107.5 WGCI-FM.
In regards to coalitions and partners, I am a Core DJ, as well as an official DJ for the liqueur, Alize (Alize Mix Squad) and the electronic company, Monster Cable (Monster DJs). What's aspect of the game are you planning on tackling next? Right now, the sky is the limit for me. I can't really say for now, but just know that I've done Radio, TV, Print, Travel, put together events and that's only the beginning for me. I want more and will work towards making that a reality! What advice would you give women on maintaining their femininity and succeed in this game? To never comprise your integrity and always remain a "Lady" before anything but hold down your craft just like a man. That's what makes a double threat, so use it, but use it wisely!
{Always remain a "Lady" before anything but hold down your craft just like a man}

YDC Photography How did you get started as a photographer? Photography has always been in my life, from working at photography studios, to being in front of the camera, to my father having a passion for photography as well. I got started a few years back when I had this little Sony point and shoot camera, and I started photographing nature and scenic landscapes. After a few months of really being into taking pictures, my first Nikon DSLR was purchased. Once I had gotten my camera, it was sky’s the limit from there. I took the time to learn about the camera and all the possibilities that I could do, I will never stop learning. From that point on I never looked back. What was your biggest influence to being a photographer? My biggest influence would have to be my grandmother and my boyfriend. My grandmother is no longer with me, but when I photograph butterflies or dragonflies, it reminds of why I do what I love to do and makes me think of her and how she will always be with me and that I am making her proud. My other influence would be the love of my life. Without him I wouldn't be where I am today in this industry and he only influences me to push harder and never give up. Why photography as a profession? Photography, yes is my profession but it is also my passion. Why because it enables me to create ART. I am not much of an artist on the terms of drawing, coloring, or
painting. Photography lets me paint a picture and lets me create ART in a different way. Photography has let me capture those moments that will never be forgotten, and it lets me capture those times in nature we may never get to experience. Photography has kept me grounded.
What are your favorite subjects to shoot? My favorite subjects to photograph are Butterflies, Orchids, and People. What separates a great photographer and someone with a camera? What separates a photographer from someone with just a camera would be the fact, that someone with just another camera doesn't take the time to really learn all the endless possibilities their camera allows. A great photographer takes the time to learn and perfect their talent, humbles themselves, and also appreciates that a photograph is a work of ART. The photographer will be able to tell a story, show emotion, and of course you can't deny that the results of the image should speak for itself, as well as show some technical skill.
24
What is your dream shoot? My dream shoot would be to work with National Geographic and travel the world, documenting nature and other cultures. Or my other dream shoot would be to work a very large magazine publication photographing celebrities. What advice would you give any models/artists regarding photoshoots? For models, please come prepared to a photoshoot, no divas we are all here to work together, and remember to practice, practice, practice your posing. Artists just be yourself and never give up!
How you describe your style? My style is unique, I love vintage, black and whites, and modern styles of editing. What has been your favorite photoshoot so far in your career? So far my favorite shoot has been with several clients, the first being with Crystal she is a mother of two and wanted some pictures done, she came out stunning.
Then there is Jena, she is a mother of one and wanted her spirits to be uplifted while going through a tough time in her life. Her pictures were stunning and I am so glad that I could make her feel beautiful like the beautiful woman she is. The reactions I get from clients speak for themselves, and is a driving force to keep pushing.

What's next for you in your career? What's next...I hope to continue to grow and to keep developing as an artist as well as an established photographer. I hope to dive into photography full time, and never look back. I hope for doors to open and I hope to be successful in this career path I have chosen. Photography makes me happy and keeps me humbled.

Watch The Throne Review Jay-z and Kanye collab and come up with one of the most anticipated albums of the year, accruing 290,000 ITunes downloads in the first week of digital release. With all-star producer Swizz Beats (Welcome to the Jungle) in the mix and an unexpected cameo from Beyoncé (Lift Off), Hova and ‘Ye show that the “ROC” is certainly in the building. The champagne popping duo also show endurance through the entire album with very few features , silencing critics questioning the Jigga Mans ability to keep up with the ever changing styles and flows of today’s rap game. Kanye also pulls his own weight, with several producer credits and also stealing the spotlight from Jay in songs like Ni**as In Paris and New Day where Jay and ‘Ye make promises to their unborn children to provide a better childhood then they had. With that being said, the above mentioned tracks are the only tracks worth listening to on this album. The remaining tracks are full of mediocrity, giving the impression that the Roca-Fella team do just enough to make their album borderline . One would think, two heavy hitters in the game would come together and create a much needed classic to put the label back where it needs to be. All in All, the Roc Nation gives you just enough on this album to get by. Showing if they settle for “good enough” in future albums, they may indeed need to “Watch The Throne.” Review by D.J. Rolle

MAKEUP NO-NO’S!!! I have been blessed with my team to bring you makeup and fashion articles. We are here to fill you in on how to’s, but are also here to show you the how not to’s. In the fashion industry there are “don’t” and these are addressed throughout every magazine possible; therefore in this issue, we are going to hit the makeup no-no’s for the sake of saving everyone from embarrassing moments. Luckily, I have a good set of friends that have saved me from any, “oh, no he didn’t” moments in both makeup and fashion. I am paying it forward and helping save someone one day at a time. So, when you see Karen with her bright red lipstick and it’s smeared on her teeth…pull her to the side and say, “ Girl, you got some lipstick on your teeth, I thought to tell you because I hate when I get it on mine and no one tells me.” but right after you do so, compliment something nice…TRY TO FIND SOMETHING NICE! Lol this way, she isn’t offended.
1. The 90’s Pam Anderson lip liner look: We are going to hit the lip liner first. It isn’t meant to be worn to look like you placed a sharpie and perfectly outlined your lips with an obvious different shade. Don’t raise the peek of your lips, don’t draw bigger lips, don’t do outrageous dark color either! When it comes to makeup, blending is key! You can use a lip brush to feather in your lip liner to blend it inward.
Adding another coat of lipstick with a lip brush, also helps the blending. The heavier the coats the messier the look.
2. You love that chicken from popeye’s: Lip gloss is suppose to give a shine to your lips. It wasn’t meant to look like you just ate a plate of greasy food. As much as I love my popeye’s chicken, I don’t want to look like I eat it everyday. You lightly dab the center of your kisser and spread with your lips throughout. Remember to clean the edges of your lips.
3. Lego land eyebrows VS Bob Ross‘ seagals: lately, on the runway, we see the block brows. Just because it’s on the Runway or on an ad on Vogue, this doesn’t mean you can pull off the 32
lego blocks; especially when you pencil them, fill in with mascara, and add dark eye shadow! As bad as block brows are, so are segal brow. If you’re questioning what segal brows are, have you ever seen Bob Ross paint segals at a distant in the sky? If your brows are as thin as his segals, you are in violation. To avoid this, Line it up a straight brush or ruler so that it touches the outermost of your nose and the inside of your eye. This line will determine where your eyebrow should start. Mark that spot with an eyebrow pencil. Angle the straight edge so that it lines up with the outermost edge of your nose and the outermost edge of your iris. It's very important that you look straight ahead--both your face and your eyes should be looking directly forward at the mirror. Wherever the line intersects your eyebrow is where the peak of your arch should begin at the top border of the eyebrow. Mark that spot with your eyebrow pencil. Repeat for the other Angle the straight edge further so that it touches the outermost edge of your nose and also passes along the outermost edge of your eye. This tells you where the eyebrow should end. Mark this point with your eyebrow pencil. Using a matte eye shadow with an angle brow brush will make your brows look more natural. We will continue a few more fashion don’ts in next months issue :)

Love is NOT Pain. By Paige Diamond Once again we find ourselves in October….gosh where has the time gone? While October may be known by most as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, very few know that it is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I’ve worked with thousands of singles and couples dealing with their intimate relationships. Many of these relationships were low frequency relationships meaning the relationships were dysfunctional and didn’t mean either of them any good. I don’t think people really realize what domestic violence is so I wanted to shed a little light on the matter. For starters domestic violence doesn’t always come in the form of physical violence. The violence can be emotional, sexual, economical and mental in the form of but not limited to: demeaning someone, blatant disrespect and no concern for what the other feels or experiencing. Domestic violence is literally any pattern of behavior that is used to keep one in check that is abusive. They want to dictate how you feel, think and act. Some think this is a show of concern and they really just love them so much that they get possessive and jealous. Jealousy is a dis-ease, it’s not cute. If you promote jealousy in your relationships, whether you are the one who embraces the other person being jealous or you provoke the jealousy, you are only making the relationship more poisonous.
If any part of you feels terrorized, threatened, intimidated, inadequate, manipulated, hurt or victimized by your mate, you may want to step back and realize what the hell you are in. It’s not healthy. It’s not loving. It’s not supportive. It’s not appreciative. If you are in one of these relationships I urge you to have the courage to end it NOW. You may be reading this and say “Well I only feel like that sometime. They can be really sweet at times. It’s usually my fault as to why they act out.” If you’re trying to rationalize the behavior of the abuse, you are very well a victim of such violence. These behaviors are not okay at ANY TIME. I don’t care what you’ve done or what they’ve done, you are all adults. BE THAT! No one can make you do anything. It’s time to be accountable for your part in either being the abuser or allowing yourself to be the victim. When it all falls down, all you have is you! If you don’t honor yourself, how can you expect anyone else to do so? The cold part is, if you’ve had the gumption to call them out on their bullshit and say how it makes you feel, what you will not tolerate and what you expect, they’ll acknowledge it but sweep it under the rug- cutting you short and down playing what you are experiencing. It may change for a bit but then it is the same old two step. Intention is only genuine when it is followed through with action. 36
If there is no action following the intent, it’s just a lie. Get out of that situation, they aren’t worthy of you. Face the fact that they are who they are and you cannot accept them in that state. As I like to say- “I can’t change you but I sure as hell can change me. Either fall in line or fall back.” Take these words to heart. I’ve been there, on both sides. Please share your experiences with us. We need to break the silence and heal. Peace, Passion & Pleasure

Poetry/Spoken word You Are My Cigarrette
MENTAL HIGH
You are the type that my parents warned me about, they said, don't let peer pressure suck you into trying something that you will regret in the end, but you seemed harmless and everybody did you or wanted to do you , you were the definition of cool and if i was with you then I would be accepted in school
My mind is in love with words, expressing many thoughts. Letting loose without a care, leaving my mind & escaping my lips & roaming so freely.
Just my luck, you were looking my way, I was so surprised by the attention of your pretty eyes that I stuttered out a hhhhhello, it was love at first site, I took a puff of you the first night You became my addiction, all I needed was more of you, I swear that the world would be a better place if there were just more of you, when my money was acting funny, you were there, when my family would ignore me, you would care, you took the stress away, you were my God so I didn't have to pray
Full of life & real, all twisted with a hint of darkness my life once held. Connecting the new with the old, these words create bridges over the walls I can't climb over. My high? My high is mental, written thoughts or verbal, Whether sweet & respectful or full of profanity & hurtful. Expressing my words, never missing a beat. Each one is from a lesson learned or a story that was shared. Always having my pen bleed its ink on paper, letting out the things i feel. Not a day goes by without the inhale & exhale of my words, creating line by line....That's my MENTAL HIGH!
I didn’t know that was a gigantic mistake cause the samething that took my breath away was starting to take my breath away, you switched sides, now every puff I take of you is like suicide cause you are slowly killing me in the inside I know our connection is destruction but when things are well I swear they are meant to be, but most of the time things are bad, my hearts left bloody like a pad You are cancer to my bones, I don't think there is a cure, what happened to your innocence, when our relationship was young, you used to be pure You got my heart in the headlock, and you got a grip on my lungs ,cause every time I try to leave I can't breathe, you’re so attached to me, you are my necessity, but you are exactly what I don't need, every time I see you, I’m taking a puff, you are slowly killing me but I can't give you up, I'm addicted and I wish I could get enough, you are my cigarette -Drayontae AKA Fireman
