Note from the Publisher: Most memorable moment of last month, hands down, was attending the Magic Marcus Willis fight alongside Team Wicked. That was my very first boxing match ever and it was quite the experience to watch the home team win! So once again, CONGRATULATIONS Magic!!! But on to this issue, I’m so proud to be able to say this is our “Second Annual Model issue!” Congrats to Francesca Savage who won our cover contest. And congrats to all the models featured this month, you all are true beauties and it was interesting to read about all your endeavors besides modeling. Models don’t nearly get enough credit for all the hard work they put in.

Who is

Christian L Brown?

M

odel/actor Christian Brown was born July 19th 1987 in Washington Heights, NY, where he spent his childhood and still thinks of as “home.” Raised by his single mother, along with two older sisters, Christian grew up with an immense respect for women and for the sacrifice single parents make every day, always planning to one day provide for the family that has given him so much.

Diva, Poetik Design, Arter, WashHouse Jeans and Nike’s combat football line. As Christian continues to work to realize his dreams, he keeps in mind the Shakespeare quote that has so often epitomized his journey: “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we often might win, by fearing to attempt.

From his days at Rice High School, playing on the NYC and state Catholic High School Championship, nationally ranked basketball team, Christian refused to settle for anything short of greatness. Now, through hard work and an attitude that looks at every obstacle as a chance for opportunity. Christian made his first big screen appearance in the feature film Just Wright (2010), starring Queen Latifah, Common and Paula Patton. He got the chance to showcase his real-life basketball skill, playing alongside Common on the New Jersey Nets in the film. Christian also appeared in Jordan Coleman’s independent film, Payin’ the Price (2011), playing basketball coach Calvin. In addition, Christian played a role on ABC’s One Life to Live in an episode starring Kourtney Kardashian (behind the scenes footage also aired on an episode of E!’s Kourtney and Kim take New York), and HBO's hit series Entourage and HBO's new series, Girls. Most recently, Christian played one of the lead roles in Akademiks Clothing's second webisode commercial titled, Can money buy love? for their monthly series "Life Lessons." Christian’s modeling experience includes BET's rip the runway (2012), campaigns for Psyberia, DrJays.com, Akademiks Clothing, Job

TERRENCE PHILLIPS

A Style so Versatile... How did you get started in modeling? I got started modeling by my Mom, Dad & oldest sister they were all models before me and encouraged me to start.

York in the summer for a model showcase for some major modeling agencies from around the world, so I am really excited for those things.

What are your goals as a model? How long have you been modeling? I have been modeling for a couple months now. Just recently signed to a local agency and looking to be discovered by a major agency in NY, LA, or Miami.

What projects are you currently working on? Well I have a fashion show casting I will be attending in New York in April. And then I will be back in New

My goal is to be signed by a major modeling agency and do campaigns, runway shows & commercials for some big names and after a couple years start my own clothing line. I also want to use this platform to do a lot of benefits and charity work worldwide. And possibly do my own TV show ANTMM (America's Next Top Male Model) if someone else doesn't beat me to it hahahaha

How do you plan on achieving your career goals? I plan on achieving my goals by staying true to who I am and trusting in God to guide, then staying grounded with my family and friends and lastly networking with some great people that are very well known in the fashion industry.

What makes you stand out in this game? What makes me stand out is my belief in God, my versatility in my style, my eagerness to learn and staying humble.

What have been some of your most memorable experiences so far in modeling? My most memorable modeling experience was winning a model contest to walk in a fashion show for some fashion designers in Atlanta.

Who are some of the photographers you've worked with? I have worked with Alquiline Photography and Alpine Photographic all local photographers but really great ones!!!

Describe your personal style My person style.......hahahaha......honestly, my style is so diverse. Like one minute you might see me rocking out in some Vans, skinny jeans and a V-neck then the next minute see spruced up nice in some nice dress shoes, blazer, button down and a bowtie. I just wear whatever....if I think it's nice I will buy it and make it work lol.

What, in your opinion is the biggest misconception about the modeling industry? 1)That modeling is easy. Modeling is not easy you really have to do your homework and market yourself well. 2) Models are really dumb. A lot of models may have been recruited when but that doesn't make them dumb and some have already gotten there degrees during their modeling careers. (S/O to Tyra Banks who just graduated from Harvard Business School!!!)

What do you enjoy the most about this profession and why? The thing I enjoy most about this profession is being creative, meeting new people, wearing crazy clothes and making great photos.

Where can we get more info? You can like my Facebook fan page I just started: www.facebook.com/KingSolomonII You can also follow me on the Twitter: @TEJSSP_Legacy Or you can look me up on Wilhelmina Denver's website under: Terrence Phillips. http://profiles.wilhelminadenver.com/men/all/

How did you get started in modeling? I started modeling because I've always loved being in front of the camera, so I found out about model mayhem and started networking.

What, in your opinion is the biggest misconception about the modeling industry? The biggest misconception about the modeling industry is that some models will do anything and everything to get to their shine. Now, we all know that is not true How long have you been modeling? but some of us have morals and practice good work I've been modeling for about 2 years now on and off, in ethics; therefore it can sometimes be difficult. It's all between doing some promotional modeling and finish- about who you know! ing school. What do you enjoy the most about this profession What projects are you currently working on? and why? I stand out because of my versatile look; I can pass for various ethnic backgrounds and pull off any look. What have been some of your most memorable experiences so far in modeling? Some of my most memorable experiences so far have been traveling to Florida to shoot, the bikini contests I've done, and of course when my 7ft boa constrictor who bit the photographer during my very first shoot. The biggest misconception about the industry is that there is only one type of model(ing). Nice hands? Feet? You can get work. Gotta weird look? You can get work. There’s work for everyone who’s dedicated. Just find your niche and work hard!

What do you enjoy the most about this profession and why?

Ms & Sunshine

Chyna Doll

How did you get started in the industry?

What's your definition of "Sex Sells"?

Sunshine:I got started as a model. At the time, modeling was just an excuse to get over my low self-esteem. I also figured that as a model, I could be a role model and inspiration to other women, young and old. Modeling introduced me to the r&b artist Lou Writer. Out of support, I started working with his team assisting with marketing, promotions and pr even though I didn't really understand what I was doing. It wasn't until I met Marlando with Tawag Promotions that I began to do research to understand the work I was doing. Hardwork, dedication and networking lead me to radio.

ChynaDoll: Even though we dnt want to admit but its a mans world and us woman rule it but in every aspect a man will pay billions to see it and we are charging

ChynaDoll: I started modeling in 2008 and I met up with Greg Johnson that had a FM radio show and wanted me to be like a 411 person of the show. That didn't fall through. A month later I met DJ J3(Southern Muscle Radio) thru him I met Lashawn (Ms Sunshine) Lawson then Boyshorts and Stilettos was born 8-112010 then BSNS RADIO was born in May of 2011 and the rest is history and here I am Chyna Doll the Babi Co Owner of BSNS RADIO (@bsnsradio wwwmblogtalkradio/bsnsradio )

billions to produce it! What is the current state of Hip Hop in your opinion? Is Hip Hop dead? Sunshine: I would say that it's evolving with time, but its more so about what feels good right now at this moment opposed to something with meaning that could withstand time. I wouldn't say its dead...just asleep.

What makes a "Great Song?" Sunshine: We all love a record that will get us on the dance floor but a great song is one that the world can relate to...a song that is timeless, you can listen to it years later and it is still relevant‌

Being part of the music world as well as part of the modeling word, how are the two worlds similar and different? Do you consider yourself a model, or is modeling part of your image as a radio host? Sunshine: I would definitely say both. I've always perceived the idea of a model to be a beautiful person inside and out, not just in front of a camera. A person who has been through the lows of the low and triumped when everyone around him/her expected him/ her to fail. A person who was willing to share his/her story to encourage and inspire others. A person who is spiritual, courageous, outgoing, personable, intelligent, and not afraid to be human.Thats the type of model that I desire to be. Therefore, modeling is big part of my image as a radio host. It is also another way to reach those people I desire to inspire.

Does sex and the industry go hand in hand? ChynaDoll: I think sex plays apart (image wise) in everything. Everywhere u look either its sexy, sensual and sexual! Commercials are even got crazy with it! That's the World.

ChynaDoll: They're similar because you see artist and models on the cover of a magazine! U see them both in movies and also u see them in music videos. They both are apart of the entertainment business! To me what makes them different is what u label and brand yourself to be. What has been your most memorable moment in your career so far? ChynaDoll: She is gonna kill me lol well meeting Lashawn (Ms. Sunshine) cs if we didn't meet we prolly wouldn't be having this interview! I LOVE HER!

My Maybelline New York Favorite Picks…ARE YOU INKED? So I have been tempted to try the new Color Tattoo 24 HR Cream Gel Shadow. It advertises that it is longlasting, creates super saturated color, very vibrant, and it intensifies in drama. I found that I am liking them, especially the purple. I personally go for the natural tones and just intensify my lashes and liner. But I am looking when I do fashion shows, that I need the makeup to be intensified without having to reapply constantly for pictures. And as spring is approaching, well ’tis the season for color!!! I like the gold and bronze as well. I found that if you use a good primer on you lids, let the primer dry, then apply the 24HR tattoo shadow as a base, then get a similar good pigmented shadow, that your eyes will def make that intensified statement. I also found it is better if you apply the 24HR tattoo shadow with your finger and not any type of brush. it’s the same with any type of cream shadow. If you want

to do the natural colors because you don’t do “dramatic,” then you still can use these shadows. there is a variety of colors to choose from:

-Audacious Asphalt

-Bad To The Bronze

-Too Cool

-Painted Purple

-Fierce Tangy

-Pomegranate

-Tenacious Teal

-Edgy Emerald

-Bold Gold

-Tough As Taupe

Another great Maybelline pick for me is the Master Precise Ink Pen. Great for doing designs on the eyes and on the face for photo creativity. Gives Master Delivery with ultrathin 0.4mm brush, its Master Flow for smooth, even lines with no mess or excess, and Master Intensity from supersaturated ink pigments.
