SPRING CAREER FAIRS

SPRING CAREER FAIR

ARTS, MEDIA & GLOBAL BUSINESS

The Spring Career fair is our largest fair of the year. It is an all-industry career fair, held at our Rose Hill campus. This fair will expose you to a large volume of students of all grade levels and majors, such as STEM, business and finance, social sciences, etc. You will also have the opportunity to network with a vast number of entrepreneurial-minded student groups and leaders as well as student athletes. In 2018, this fair hosted 120 employers and 990 students. For the 2018-2019 academic year, this fair will take place on January 24th at the Rose Hill campus.

Fordham’s Arts, Media and Global Business Career Fair is tailored to Lincoln Center’s unique student population. The majority of the students you meet will be studying dance, theater, media studies, digital design, and others, as well as students from our Global Business program, which has concentrations in global finance; consumer insights/marketing; digital media and technology; and healthcare. In 2018, this fair hosted 74 employers and 463 students. For the 2018-2019 academic year, this fair will take place on February 13th at the Lincoln Center Campus.

S T E M F A I R

NON-PROFIT, GOV'T & EDUCATION FAIR

In partnership with the Center for Community and Engaged learning, Fordham’s non-profit and post graduate volunteer opportunity career fair brings together employers in the government, non-profit, and education industries to offer opportunities to Fordham students seeking to improve the common good. These opportunities range from volunteer service opportunities, to civil servant roles, teaching positions, and more. This fair typically hosts over 60 employers in these respective industries. For the 2018-2019 academic year, this fair will take place on February 28th at the Rose Hill campus.

FEBRUARY 28TH

This targeted fair is designed to create networking opportunities for all of our undergraduate and graduate students interested in the life sciences, technology/computer science, engineering, and mathematics from our Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses. Fordham’s STEM population exceeds 50% of all liberal arts undergrads and these majors are amongst the most popular on campus. This fair is tailored towards STEM students, but it is open to all students studying both liberal arts and business. In 2018 this fair hosted 33 employers and 212 students. For the 2018-2019 academic year, this fair will take place on March 27th, 2019.

EVENTS ON CAMPUS To connect with us, please contact our Employer Relations specialists Stephen Esposito (sesposito10@fordham.edu) and Beatrice Rice (brice4@fordham.edu).

TABLING

Tablings take place in the McGinley Center lobby. Though info sessions are popular amongst employers, tabling is a great way to build presence and establish your brand on campus. To ensure your business gains optimal visibility, we suggest tabling during lunch hours, which attracts a higher number of students. Be sure to bring handouts, swag, and if you’ll be on campus again at a later date for a Career Fair or OCR day, be sure to remind the students of that as well. TABLING AT ROSE HILL: MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS BETWEEN 1:00-3:00PM TABLING AT LINCOLN CENTER: WEDNESDAYS BETWEEN 3:00- 5:00PM AND THURSDAYS BETWEEN 12:00-2:00PM

INFORMATION SESSIONS

Information Sessions are typically offered in the evening, after students finish classes. While some companies choose to offer presentations that provide an overview of their internship programs and company structure, we find that successful presentations have a learning component. Students are looking for ways to apply their coursework to real scenarios and are more likely to attend an event where they learn a marketable skill about a particular industry. In order to request an information session, log in to Handshake and complete a “new event” request. Once completed, your event will be added to our events calendar and marketed to our student body. INFORMATION SESSIONS AT ROSE HILL: MONDAYS- THURSDAYS 5:30-7:00PM INFORMATION SESSIONS AT LINCOLN CENTER: THURSDAYS 5:30-7:00PM

ADDITIONAL EVENTS

Events on campus are by no means limited to info sessions and tabling. Other events have included panels, employer office hours and large-scale campus events. These events can also be scheduled through Handshake.

ON CAMPUS RECRUITING Academic Year 2018-2019 Signature Partners may begin requesting dates on April 30, 2018 All other employers may begin requesting dates on June 1, 2018

Utilizing On Campus Recruiting (OCR) and On Campus interviews is a great option for employers planning on interviewing more than just a few Fordham students for a full-time position or internship program. In order to request an OCR date, log in to Handshake and choose “Create New On Campus Interview Schedule” from the Shortcuts menu on the right. Employers trying on-campus recruiting for the first time are encouraged to schedule tabling and info sessions as well as participation in career fairs as part of a holistic recruiting strategy. Please contact Carolyn Funke (cfunke1@fordhamedu) for more information and questions about OCR.

EMPLOYMENT OFFERS &ACCEPTANCE POLICY On Campus Recruiting Interviews (OCR), is designed to give employers the opportunity to interview a large number of Fordham candidates conveniently, and in one day. We handle the logistics so that you can focus on the students. On-campus interview days begin at 9:30AM with last interviews ending at 4:30PM. We are happy to accommodate early start time and late interviews upon request to our Signature Partners. Partners should send their requests for early start/late finish at least 2 weeks before the scheduled interview day. In the event that you choose to manage your own interview scheduling, a copy of the finalized schedule should be sent to the office of Career Services 48 hours before the first interview. You can request your OCR dates; by logging in to Handshake and choosing “Interviews” from the Shortcuts menu on the right. In order to give students sufficient time to complete their searches, we ask employers to abide by the following offer schedule for the 2018-2019 academic year. Employers must honor all offers extended. No conditions should be placed on these offers. Exploding offers and special incentives such as diminishing bonuses and location preference should not be offered in exchange for early offer acceptance, as pressure on students to accept early makes it difficult for us to enforce our policies against students reneging on job offers. Below are our policies on offer deadlines.
