Year in Review 2022 - 2023
Note from the Director The 2022-2023 academic year was one of innovation and high impact programming. We focused on student outcomes, emphasized living the mission, and worked closely with University and strategic partners to integrate career readiness into the Fordham experience. As a result, students enhanced their career education, enjoyed new connections and opportunities, and imagined cura personalis as it relates to career success. This year, we returned to in-person career fairs, campus interviews, employer site visits, panels, workshops, and events. We coupled this with options for virtual and hybrid counseling, programming, and professional development features and presentations to increase access, respond to the market, and connect with an increasingly global employer and alumni network. Student engagement reached an all-time high at 15,000+ for career advisement and events. We welcomed 500+ employers for on-campus recruiting opportunities, featured 119,000+ job and internship postings on Handshake, and expanded our signature, strategic, and alumni career networks and partnerships. Our partnerships with academic and administrative departments also flourished this year. We successfully launched a one-credit career exploration course at Fordham College Rose Hill and emphasized career education during department-led seminars and enrichment programs. We are also proud to report 229% growth in our Equity & Inclusion programs, one standout being the addition of our first Career Closet Pop-up Event. We continue to focus on students' unique talents, and Fordham’s Jesuit values, that attract employers from around the world. The First Destination Outcomes for the class of 2022 graduates reflects these achievements. Fordham graduates demonstrate exceptional success in the market with a 96% landed rate and an 86% knowledge rate. We continued to tailor our support to each student and to strive towards our mission, while enhancing the educational experience and overall strategic plan. We are excited to share our progress and key accomplishments with you. Career Integration Connections & Experiences
Career Education & Academic Partners From Core to Career: launched two onecredit Career Exploration Courses Collaborated with the Dean's Office on a Career Road Map for undeclared and transfer students, and to co-host FCLC to the World of Business, Finding Your Summer Internship, and Career Readiness for International Students events Presented to seminars and enrichment programs, including Communications & Media Studies, International Studies, the Fashion Minor, Public Media MA, Graduate Biological Sciences, Leadership Vision and Strategy, and the 32nd & 33nd Careers in Applied Psychology Forums Compiled 50+ internship and full-time opportunities for the Philosophy Department Hosted a networking event for 30+ students with the NYCDOT and the Visual Arts Program as part of the Street Design Exhibition at LC Partnered with Professional and Continuing Studies on LinkedIn presentations for 50+ students, and offered extended counseling hours for non-traditional schedules Partnered with Graduate Schools of Education (GSE) and Arts & Sciences (GSAS) to develop professional readiness for CVs, personal statements, online presence, and academic and non-academic career transitions, engaging 270+ students Launched the London Campus Internship Program, engaging 40+ students
