near Garstang – the epicentre of Lancashire Cheese production. “Within just a couple of miles you’ve got five of the area’s biggest producers: Dewlay, Singletons, Butlers, Carron Lodge and Mrs Kirkham’s,” explains Katie. We make a beeline for the latter, where the recently opened farm shop is doing a brisk trade.
