Welcome to Station Park for today’s Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League One clash with Spartans. I would like to welcome Grant and Hibernian’s backroom team, players and supporters to Forfar this Easter Sunday for our first meeting of the season. We have had a quick turnaround from the midweek game against Spartans, where although the result didn’t go our way, myself and the coaching team were delighted with the performance. Players from Jeff Rioch’s SWFL2 side stepped up to compete and we are pleased with their contribution. The overall team performance was encouraging, but naturally we are disappointed with the score. I would like to congratulate Erin Cattanach and Robyn Smith on their recent success with the Scottish Students National Team. Robyn grabbed herself a goal and an assist while Erin netted in a penalty shoot out win as they won the Home Nations Tournament. We are looking forward to this afternoon’s game and we go into this with the same mindset and will to win like any other game. Enjoy today’s game,
Stevie
Good afternoon and welcome to Station Park where we host Hibernian in the SBSSWPL1. Let’s be honest, we’ve not seen the best of us yet, even though we have had good performances the scores do not match the performance level and at this high standard you can’t afford that to happen or teams will punish you. We play Hibs today and know it’s going to be a hard game but one we are looking forward to. We have positives to take from Wednesday’s game and hope to bring that and more into today’s performance..
We hope you enjoy today’s game and thank you for your support. Nicola

The hosts started off well and had the first opportunity after three minutes when McGinley sent her shot just past the post. Spartans were awarded a chance six minutes later as White fouled on the edge of the box; McAlonie curled home a brilliant free kick past McNicoll.
Farmington looked to come back from this early blow with Stewart sending an effort into the grateful arms of Harrison. McDonald-Nguah split the home defence in the 13th minute with a ball that allowed Mason to go one on one with McNicoll & the attacker probably should have done better as she blasted wide. She almost went one better eleven minutes later when a long range strike was palmed over by McNicoll. McNicoll was called into action again when she punched away a McDonald-Nguah lob. Stewart and McGinley linked up well in the 39th minute as the former sent the latter in on goal but Harrison did well to block the shot. Bruce tried her luck from distance a minute later but couldn’t find the target; the last action in the half fell to McDonald-Nguah as she headed wide after meeting a cross. Both sides were matching each other well in the first half with only a stunning goal the difference between the sides. The second half was much the same as both sides battled hard in the sunset at Station Park. Stevie Baxter made an early change as Beth Shillitto made her first appearance at a Premier League level since March 2018 replacing Lotte Deubel. Johnstone thought she had added a second for Spartans from the edge of the box in the 66th minute as she beat McNicoll but her shot hit the crossbar. McPherson tested Harrison shortly after from 25 yards as Farmington hunted for an equaliser but it was the visitors who were to seal all three points with a controversial penalty. With sixteen minutes remaining McNicoll beat away a Beth McKay shot and when Frew attempted to control the ball, Katie Hassett got a challenge in and won the ball cleanly. Despite this, referee David Fearn awarded a penalty to the visitors. McDonald-Nguah stepped up and slotted home Spartans’s second, sending McNicoll the wrong way. The visitors shut up shop after this with the closest anyone came to something resembling a shot was Stewart’s free kick that was easily held by Harrison. As time wore on Stevie Baxter handed a Premier League debut to Ashleigh Smith for the final ten minutes, replacing McPherson.
