: y a D e r i h Yorks f o t h g i N A Arts! PROGRAMME BY FORGE ZINE

Yorkshire Day: A Night Of Arts 2022 Welcome back! It's been a year since our debut event - and what a year it has been! We have published 4 new zines, including our beautiful Spring and Summer 2022 editions. If you haven't got copies yet, you can have a flick through them at our bookstand. In February, we hosted another lovely Night of Arts at The Crescent York in celebration of Valentine's Day. If you weren't able to make it, don't worry - we've got another exciting showcase for you tonight. If this is your first Forge event, you're in for a treat. This time, we are welcoming even more new acts to the stage, including forays into musical theatre and dance. Tonight is all set to be a spectacular night of live poetry and theatre - finishing off with some music to get you up on your feet!

About Us

@forgezine

Forge Zine was founded in May 2019 by a group of Creative Writing students at York St John University. We wanted to create more opportunities for writers like us to get published, other than the dull and stuffy literary journals we too regularly encountered. What started as a small campus project has become an international . quarterly publication. We release issues quarterly, aligned with the solstices and equinoxes, publishing a variety of artistic works from creative people all over the world.

E. Hartley Smith - Event Organiser Elle is the Founder and Chief Editor of Forge Zine. Having completed her Creative Writing BA at York St John University, her love shifted more from writing towards publishing and events management. She developed the concept for Forge Zine in 2019 and decided it was time to attempt hosting an event. Yorkshire Day 2021 was our first Night of Arts, followed by another successful creative showcase on Valentine's Day 2022. A lowkey adrenaline junkie and lover of the seaside, Elle has lived in Amsterdam and cannot wait to get back there, exploring more of this beautiful world we live in (in the most ecofriendly way possible).

Louise Machen - Poetry Louise Machen is a Mancunian poet and a graduate of The Centre for New Writing at of Manchester. He received a 2:1 in Performing Arts at the University of Lincoln and co-founded the Sheffieldbased theatre company Hallmark Theatre with JoJo Hall in 2020. Together they hosted their first charity fundraiser event for the National Autistic Society in April 2022. Recently, Tom has taken a more industrial route, trading stage and screen for smoke and steam. But tonight he has dusted off his outfit and is back to reliving his musical theatre dreams. He hopes you will all enjoy.
