Salgado Architect, Spain A formally strong proposal for a statement building on the south-eastern end of the site which then leaves the rest of the pier free as a public space for the city. The accommodation isstacked vertically with terraces wrapped around the edges of the auditorium and exhibition spaces. The presentation of this building as part of a plan for the whole harbour site reinforced the clarity of the proposal.

AIA, NCARB, RIBA, RIAI, COAM Raul Gutierrez Salgado is a New York Registered Architect with a post-graduate degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in the City of New York. He has more than 15 years of international experience in cities like New York, Dublin & Madrid. He develops most of his professional career in New York, where he starts his career working in internationally recognized studios like Rafael Viñoly Architects. He has directed teams of architects in several architectural studios, like Voorsanguer Architects PC on highly complex projects like the Renovation and Expansion of Newark Liberty International Airport, which serves the New York metropolitan area. He has undertaken several international competitions and exhibitions, and received several awards. He was recently commended at Centre Pier, Galway Harbour Ideas Competition, Ireland. His work was published and exhibited in several occasions. He has more than eight years of experience teaching Architectural Design Studios at New York Institute of Technology and Dublin Institute of Technology, where he teaches at the present. Raul is NCARB certified and is also registered in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Spain.

Trabaja en estudios de reconocido prestigio internacional, como Rafael Viñoly Architects. Llega a dirigir equipos en el área de proyectos de varios estudios, como Voorsanguer Architects PC. En proyectos tan complejos como la renovación y ampliación del Aeropuerto Internacional de Newark Liberty, que sirve al área metropolitana de Nueva York. Ha participado en Concursos Internacionales, siendo premiado en varias ocasiones, como en el Concurso Internacional Centre Pier, Galway Harbour Ideas Competition, Irlanda. Sus proyectos han sido seleccionados para exposiciones y publicaciones. Tiene más de ocho años de experiencia docente como profesor de proyectos en el New York Institute of Technology, Nueva York y en el Dublin Institute Of Technology, Irlanda, trabajo que realiza en la actualidad.
