Learn How to Draw In Pencil
Melissa started teaching children how to draw realistic subjects in pencil at Loyalist College in 1999. In 2003, she designed and created Canada’s first online drawing class in pencil and coloured pencils. These online classes are offered presently through eight Ontario community colleges. Since then she has taught several adult evening classes and offers private children’s lessons in her home. Melissa has participated in many juried exhibitions, studio tours, festivals and group exhibitions to showcase her work. She is one of the founding members of the Group of Twelve Canadian artists who collectively exhibited their artwork in a two month exhibition. Kuwait National Museum History Establishing a national museum in Kuwait passed through many processes and stages. Shiekh Ahmed Al jabber’s house served as the first place for the museum. However, after the archaeological investigation in Failaka, it was necessary to establish a Department for Antiquity and Museums that bought old residence of one of the Kuwaiti families and turned it to the first National Museum. Although the museum was planned during early 60s by Michel Ecochard, it was opened to public in 1986 divided into four blocks: 3 for permanent exhibitions and the fourth for administrative offices and auditorium. The collection exhibited in the museum shows the visitor the richness of Kuwait history and its deep roots in history. The art collection of Al-Sabah family, the collection of dhows, and the archaeological findings in Failaka reflect the complexity of Kuwait history. These collections are among the most important components of the museum that all Kuwaiti nation should know its past in order to be aware of their country’s glory.
