Read the book to the children, pausing to ask questions along the way to ensure comprehension Sing songs from the attached song sheet Place laminated alphabet turkey cards on the floor. Have the children walk, hop, skip, jump, gallop, and grab walk across the cards while playing or singing the song, Albuquerque Turkey. When the music stops children must identify the letter they are standing on. Roll first one (5 minutes) and then two (five minutes) dice, have children count the number of dots and identify the correct number on their Turkey Fit Card. Parents and children will do the correct number of fitness activities. Pushups, sit ups, kicks, knee lifts, bicycles, burpees, arm circles, toe touches, etc. Sitting in a circle, explain to children that words and music have rhythm. Say each of the words on the Thanksgiving sheet provided, clapping the syllables as you go. Have the children string the yarn through the wholes on the lacing cards provided Help the children make a craft to take home.
