Guide to Education

TCC: Success Within Reach W

hen selecting the right college, students and parents rightfully seek the best possible education for their investment. That means a world-class institution offering smaller class sizes, flexible schedules, a convenient location, affordable tuition and a wide variety of programs from which to choose. Fortunately, all of these attributes are within reach, thanks to Tarrant County College (TCC). Whether students attend one of our campuses or enroll in our online programs, TCC offers something for everyone. We demonstrate our commitments to providing affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning, and to driving student success, in everything we do.

• With five campuses located in Fort Worth, Hurst and Arlington, TCC ensures the right class time and curricula are close, no matter where you live. Whether planning to begin your core classes or earn an associate’s degree, TCC credits transfer easily to most four-year colleges and universities; core curriculum courses are guaranteed to transfer toany other Texas public institution. With more than 250 online courses, as well as weekend courses, TCC also makes it easy for students to complete their credits at times convenient for them.

2

• T CC students benefit from more interaction with their instructors. While TCC ranks as the sixth-largest college or university in Texas, it maintains an enviable 26:1 student-toinstructor ratio, allowing our students to receive the personal attention generally attributed to much smaller institutions. Through corporate- and private partnerships, TCC can provide our students access to award-winning faculty, state-of-the-art classroom technology and workforce education programs consistently recognized among the best in the nation. • Tuition is within reach. Almost half of the nation’s college students attend community college. According to Forbes and U.S. News & World Report, the cost of community college

is approximately one-third the tuition of a four-year state institution and one-tenth that of a private four-year college. At TCC, the average cost for students enrolled in 15 credit hours is $825, compared to $3,400 – $17,300 at other local schools offering the same core curriculum. Enrolling at TCC gives you the financial flexibility to decide your course of study, at your own pace, while completing your core courses. • No matter your path, TCC can help you succeed. With more than 70 fields of study, ranging from the arts to business to communication, health care, public safety, digital technology and beyond, TCC provides students the best facilities, instruction and support services to help them succeed. They also benefit

from a vibrant college atmosphere that includes a broad array of extracurricular clubs, associations, intramural sports and campus fitness facilities. As our students reach the end of their careers with TCC, career coaches help them identify their best career path after graduation. Since 1965, TCC has been committed to offering affordable access to a quality college experience close to home. We encourage you to tour our campuses and explore the experiences TCC can provide by visiting our website (www.tccd. edu) or Facebook page (facebook.com/TarrantCountyCollege). Whatever your idea of success may be, TCC can bring it within reach.
