PROPOSITION A JULY 14TH Know Before You Vote

For Against

Did you know that systemic, institutional, and internalized racism are complicated issues both historically and socially.? Do you know how the your hard-earned tax dollars that fund FWPD through the Crime, Control and Prevention District Tax is being used?

Do some research and make the right choice on July 14th!

PROPOSITION A

fwweekly.com

It is common knowledge that at least 90% of the funding for FWPD is paid by the taxpayers of Fort Worth. We also know a portion of the budget comes from the Crime, Control and Prevention District Tax and that this tax produces at least $70,000,000 ($70 Million) to the Police Department. This money was initially supposed to be administered by a board appointed by the members of the City Council. However that was suddenly dissolved by the Fort Worth City Council and the $70 Million became part of the General Fund from the City of Fort Worth. So, automatically this money, instead of being used for control and prevention could now be used for intervention or any other

When Barack Obama was elected as President of the United States, we believed that we finally had arrived at political and economic paradise. We soon realized how deeply wrong that assessment was, when the president himself and other members of his administration were subjects of brutal harassment that included questions of President Obama’s citizenship.

So, The LULAC recommendation is VOTE AGAINST PROPOSITION A THIS JULY 14th!

We would also like to call to the attention of the community that the historical and social background of these facts have complicated issues such as systemic, institutional and internalized racism that need to be acknowledged.
