Annual Litter Pick A massive thank you to all the lovely litter pickers who gave up their time on Saturday 22nd May to help tidy up the town and contribute to the Great British Spring Clean 2021. Volunteers included pupils from Sun Hill Junior and Infant School and Perins. Lots of bags of litter were collected and interesting items were found! All your hard work and enthusiasm was much appreciated and adds to the community spirit of this lovely town. Our thanks to Becky at the Arlebury Café who provided complimentary hot drinks to the volunteers. We enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you all next year. If you weren’t able to join our litter pick, we are happy to loan out our litter pick equipment to individuals and groups together with rubbish bags. Please contact our office so we can get the equipment ready for you.
Love Parks Week Running from 23rd July until 1st August, Love Parks Week is an annual campaign to promote our parks and open spaces and this year the theme is to “Love, Respect and Protect” them. We provide a dedicated litter pick (and he is dedicated) to keep our parks clean and free from litter. We know this only applies to very few visitors, but please use the bins provided or take your litter home with you. Thank you.
Hanging Baskets Our thanks to the Hanging Garden for installing all the floral displays around our town centre on Friday 21st May in challenging conditions. Since then, the weather has improved, and we hope that they are all beginning to bloom. We continue to fund the weekly watering and maintenance of all the floral displays. Our thanks to all the residents and business owners who continue to support the scheme by purchasing one. We do hope you enjoy them, and they provide a wonderful welcome to everyone visiting our lovely town.
Town Entrances We would like to thank Anita Wade for her generosity by giving her time and expertise to provide a floral display for each of the three entrances to our town together with the planter in West Street. We know that a lot of thought and hard work goes into each of the displays. They always look spectacular and are recognised as an essential part of the floral scheme for our town every year.
