Swanmore Village Fete What an amazing Day! Fabulous weather, fantastic support from the community and a tremendous effort put in by the Lions, their partners, friends of Lions, past Lions, future Lions, it was truly an outstanding day. This was a record for us with over 2000 people attending who helped us raise in excess of £7,000 to help local people.

WW2 Spitfire Fly Past The sky couldn’t have been clearer to see the WW2 Spitfire do three circuits of the Recreation Ground – what a spectacle!!

Fete Royals Our Royalty arrived in style into the arena but stopped for a photo opportunity first: from the left, Prince Max Potter, Prince Tom Brent, Queen Daisy Edwards and Princess Layla Main-Sutherland; what a fabulous group, well done everyone !

Kiddies Games There were lots of games to play, from smashing it on the tins, racing piggies, Play Your Cards Right and coconut shy, everyone had a brilliant time.

Winners of the Bike competition Best Foreign non-Japanese – Neil Houghton from Southbourne with an Indian Velo 1973 500cc. Best Foreign Japanese – John Byrne from Swanmore with a Honda Postie 110cc. Landlords Choice, at The Chairmakers PH, Worlds End, Barry Taylor from Waterlooville Triumph Cub 1961 230cc. Best British Motorcycle – Martyn Taylor from Waterlooville with a Norton Special 1960 750cc.

Dog Show Winners Here are some of our ‘best friends’ proudly receiving their trophies and rosettes. Phoebe McCarthy aged 7 - not only won 2nd Chance Hero but also BEST IN SHOW! pictured here with our judges – a huge thankyou to them for donating their time. Other category winners were Pretty Princess – Asher Crowe and Golden Oldy, Oscar Evans sadly went home early as he was poorly. We hope he's feeling better.

Entertainment We had a variety of entertainment in the Arena: Roynon School of Dance put on an inspiring display as well as Contraband; the Swan Samba Band. The Roynon School of Dance inspired local children to dance to Contraband. Also performing was Soberton Strummers and the Bernie Boozle Band.

Raffle Last but not least, following an enormous effort from our team (one in particular) we raised over £2,000, so thank you to everyone who donated some fabulous prizes.

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who pitched in to help and all those people who came along and helped us raise such a fantastic amount of money to help local people. Put a date in your diary for next year: Saturday 8th July 2023.
