The 2019 Fargo AirSho is dedicated to the memory of Darrol Schroeder, who passed away in March. He was cochair of the Fargo Airsho since its inception in 1989. Schroeder had a stellar career in aviation as an Air Force pilot and later in the ND Air National Guard. Serving A total of 39 years in the military, Schroeder achieved the rank of Major General. His leadership, good humor and aviation know-how will be sorely missed by the AirSho Committee.
The Fargo AirSho was officially formed in 1989. That year, the United States Air Force “Thunderbirds” flight team performed. After 30 years, the Thunderbirds return to headline the 2019 AirSho.
This year marks the 13th AirSho that the 70- member volunteer committee have organized. Special thanks to the AirSho Co-Chairs Dick Walstad and Mike Haugen, plus Helen O’Connor, the AirSho Executive Director.
The Fargo AirSho would not have been successful without the support of sponsors, advertisers and loyal patrons. Accolades to law enforcement, the ND Air National Guard and The Fargo AirMuseum.
Thanks to the Fargo Airport Authority whose cooperation is much appreciated to help make this event a success. In addition, the staff of FM Convention & Visitors Bureau were very helpful in assisting the Airsho Committee.
In summary, it was a team effort. Bravo!
