How does it feel to win?
“It’s an honor to win Best Sporting Event,” said Alyson Vander Steen, associate athletic director for marketing and fan engagement. “The support of Bison Nation means so much to the department and program, and we couldn’t do what we do without the community’s support.”
What would you say to your wide-ranging fan base?
“First and foremost, thank you,” Vander Steen said. “The support for our student-athletes, coaches, and staff is a crucial part of the program’s success. If you enjoy Bison football game day, I would definitely encourage you to also get out to our other home sporting events as well. All of our teams bring a ton of energy and Bison Pride to game days.” honorable mentions honorable mentions

It’s truly an honor to be even nominated for the “Best Of” and even more of an honor to be selected. It means a lot that after all of these years, viewers tune into WDAY and trust and appreciate the stories we do and still “like me.” Ha!
Does it mean something different winning in a time when there is so much questioning of information out there?
This has been a tough time to be a journalist, and it’s nice to have a bright spot and a reminder that what we do touches people in good ways!
Do you ever remind your co-anchor, Dana Mogck, that you’ve been voted best TV anchor two years in a row?
Although I might hold this over Dana’s head to get a soda or treats, I share this with him and all of the fantastic people I work with who fill our newscasts with incredible stories every night.
