Johnny Carino’s diverse menu includes chicken specialties and seafood along with America’s favorite food — made in a woodburning oven — pizza. Even though there’s a clock on top of the Kroll’s Diner neon sign, time doesn’t matter when it comes to late-night eating. The neon signs on the outside of the retro chrome building offer a glowing red menu with items such as hamburgers, fries, malts, soups.

But what makes Kroll’s unique is it’s an American diner where you can order German food. Known for its knoephla soup, other German options include fleischkuechle, a seasoned ground beef patty wrapped inside a pastry and deep-fried, as well as kuchen, a fruit and custard-filled pastry.

If German specialties are not your thing, don’t fret because there are many more menu options for a night owl’s nocturnal nourishment.
