This portfolio contains 3 projects that have been processed in the semester.
P1-Â Speculative Landscape P2- Amphibian P3 - Extreme Storage
P1- Speculative Landscape Firstly, I chose an image in this project. Then I cut this image into pieces and created a new landscape.
In this work, I created landscape with symbols. Triangular pieces represent land, and spirals represent water.
P1- Speculative Landscape in the next step, I wanted to consider the landscape I created and the context of what I symbolized
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
In these macro drawings, I dealt with the relationship of land and water. Over time, I wanted to show that the water eroded the triangles, that is, the land, and spread over larger areas.
P1- Speculative Landscape In macro drawings, I showed that spirals break apart triangles. At the same time, spirals are tightened. In the next stage, I turned to micro drawings. I aimed to show this bilateral relationship in small size
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
I emphasized that rounded pieces leak into the ground and put pressure on the border. With time we can see that the water is dominant over land.
P1- Speculative Landscape After studying the landscape in macro and micro aspects, I started modeling studies. In my modeling work with one material, I finally chose to use clay. Although it was a difficult material to work with, I was able to reflect the landscape in my mind as I wanted. In addition, the clay experienced fragmentation over time, in line with the subject I was on.
I used the depths on clay to represent wetlands. I tried to make the modeling more understandable by reflecting the triangle symbols on the clay.
P1- Speculative Landscape Then I created this landscape with two materials. I used a hard copper wire to represent the land. I symbolized the water with aluminum foil that can take shape easily. I tried to reflect the topography of the ratio by choosing a field from my first drawing.
The size of the spirals made of aluminum foil represents the depth of the water.
P1- Speculative Landscape Finally, I made a drawing by taking the model I created with 2 materials as a guide.
This project allowed me to know the materials. When I found the material most similar to what I wanted to represent, I realized that the project was progressing faster.
P2- Amphibian At the beginning of the project, we went for a walk in Bebek Beach. We made observations and talked to people.
We made measurements in the areas and at this stage, I chose a project area for myself by evaluating the places I walked.
P2- Amphibian The first thing that occurred to my mind about the project was to create a structure that will provide new experiences to the society.
I chose the area in the photo above. The main reasons for this were as follows: It is a section where the coastal road expands and it will be one of the busiest regions in the future due to the effect of the construction of the subway.
P2- Amphibian The purpose of my project was to create an area of people a few meters from the shore. I aimed to make this area a part of sea level below. My dream was that people should have the feeling of sitting in the sea.
Following this idea, I made several modeling attempts.
P2- Amphibian Meanwhile, I made drawings to better understand the area. I drew sections of the area on 100 and 200 scales.
P2- Amphibian In the later stages of design, I completed my project with a new idea. My design would offer people opposite experiences. The dark and reinforced concrete structure entered above sea level leads to a bright, transparent area ending below sea level.
The part of the design that is under the sea is located on a wooden structure.
P2- Amphibian I made a comprehensive modeling of the area I was working on simultaneously. I created a model where I can see the layers, the depth of the sea.
P2- Amphibian Then I drew the plan of my design. I created plans on 100 and 200 scales and deployed on my land.
P2- Amphibian I made 2 section drawings by considering the state of my design on the land.
P2- Amphibian I made some sketches about the important parts of the structure in my design.
P2- Amphibian Finally, I combined the land and design models I have.
In this photo, it can be seen how the structure sits under the sea and gets support.

P3-Extreme Storage This project started with Karaman Trip. We visited TaĹ&#x;kale village and made analysis on storage there for two days. This village was remarkable in many different ways.
With our return to school, I did some research to choose which way to deal with storage.
P3-Extreme Storage First, I drew a rough map of the stone castle and marked the storage areas with the photos in my hand and the information in my memory.
These storage areas were built in different ways and for different purposes.
P3-Extreme Storage Under the influence of my observations and the things that caught my attention, I decided to deal with storage in a concrete way. In TaĹ&#x;kalesi, the depot needs of the villagers and the solutions they found attracted my attention.
Almost every household in this village had found its own way of storing their needs and supplies. I have seen and sketched many different types of storage methods. In the image above, I reflected these varieties.
P3-Extreme Storage Then I drew an atmospheric section of the stone castle. A few of the different types of storage I have seen in this section can be seen.

P3-Extreme Storage Some storage photos
P3-Extreme Storage After determining the main topic of my project, I had to choose a field for myself. I spotted an area in the middle of the 4 buildings, showing storage examples side by side. There was no other area where I could reach the users of the problem I wanted to solve better.
P3-Extreme Storage The places shown in red are solutions in storage. After making sure of this area, I drew a section.
The area I chose was an area that was covered with buildings on 2 sides and one side was covered with a retaining wall.
P3-Extreme Storage I made 200 scale land modeling to better understand the land and develop solutions.
P3-Extreme Storage Then I started modeling my design. Since I chose a place by the road, I was in a narrow space. As a solution, I created a design for the villagers next to the storage area by creating a bridge that creates a bridge over the road.
P3-Extreme Storage I focused on improving my design later in the project. First, I evaluated the area where there is a storage pool behind the building. I made some design changes to make better use of the space on the other side of the road.
P3-Extreme Storage In the following days, I made a 100-scale modeling of the land to work more easily on a small scale.
P3-Extreme Storage After modeling, I made plan drawings of my design. I made a plan drawing from 2 different floors.
P3-Extreme Storage After the plan drawings, I took two sections from my design vertically and horizontally. In these sections, 100 scales were drawn like plans.
P3-Extreme Storage I added my design to the 200-scale layout plan. So we can see the relationship with the environment.
P3-Extreme Storage I showed my design in an atmospheric section of 500 scale.
I had targeted a unique topographic design.
P3-Extreme Storage Finally, I combined my finished design with a 100-scale land model like this modeling.
