Unforgettable Destinations This unique planet of ours is itself home to many smaller worlds within it: ecosystems, landscapes and cultures, each different from the next. The Amazon Rainforest – the largest on Earth – is said to shelter 10% of all known species under its magical green canopy. Venturing deep into the forest on an exhilarating riverboat tour is a perfect example of an unforgettable experience that simply can’t be enjoyed anywhere else. If you’d prefer Earth’s largest coral reef, then a chance to sail the iconic Great Barrier Reef is not one to let pass by, especially when you need spare only 18 nights to see this Wonder of the Natural World

along with Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore and others. You’ll be hard-pushed to pick your favourite. The islands of Caribbean and Cuba decorate the ocean between North and South America, though the cultures, cuisines, and highlights are a world away. In one packed itinerary you could encounter Dutch, French, Spanish, English and African influences and enjoy perfect beaches, tropical waterfalls, volcanoes, mountains and vibrant reefs. On the following pages there are six itineraries to choose from; read on for more details. Our smaller, friendlier ships are the perfect companion for your exploration: friendly, efficient

Award-Winning Cruises Fred. Olsen’s staff and crew always work hard to give you the holiday of a lifetime. That this dedication has been recognised in a number of awards over the past few years is very rewarding. Most importantly, in over 18,000 reviews from past guests, 95% rated their holiday Excellent or Good, with independent review site Feefo awarding Fred. Olsen Gold Trusted Merchant Accreditation – in recognition of excellence in customer service – for the third year in a row. Perhaps that’s why more than half of guests in 2016 had travelled with Fred. Olsen before. There’s never been a better time to get on board.

staff and like-minded travelling companions make the whole experience more pleasurable. The only challenge will be deciding which cruise tempts you the most.

Fred. Olsen Difference We don’t have glitzy ships. We don’t have zip wires, climbing walls, celebrity chefs or cocktail mixologists. What we do have is long-serving staff specially chosen for their friendly, welcoming personalities, ‘real ships’ that are regularly improved so they cater for your every need, cuisine prepared by chefs who care about their craft, not their egos, and – most importantly – a passion to show you the very best of the world. Most cruise lines try to keep you on their ship so you’ll spend more money with them. We encourage you to head off on a journey of discovery in every destination. There are more places to see in the world than anyone could fit in one lifetime – but at Fred. Olsen we think there’s no harm in trying.

Shore Tours Can Enhance Your Experience On the following pages, we have included a selection of the many and varied tours we offer, at additional cost, to enhance your exploration ashore. The full list will be published on www.fredolsencruises.com nearer to the departure date.

Calling into Santarem, you’ll get the chance to enjoy the lively vibe of Mercado Market; admire the fantastic exhibits at the Museu de Santarem; or even sunbathe on the beautiful beaches of the Alter do Chao district – which is often referred to as the ‘Caribbean of the Amazon’. You won’t want to miss remarkable ‘Meeting of the Waters’, where the Tapajós and Amazon rivers flow side-by-side without mixing – it’s a sight you have to see to believe. In Parintins, sample the carnival atmosphere of Brazil’s second biggest festival, the Boi Bumba. The celebrations actually take place in June, but you can enjoy a very special private performance of the show, complete with traditional dance, toe-tapping music and vibrant costumes. From Manaus, you can delve into the depths of the Amazon Rainforest at dusk on an incredible riverboat tour. Arguably, nowhere in the world matches the remarkable fauna and flora that’s found hidden within this magnificent eco-wonderland, and as you venture silently into the flooded forest you might be lucky enough to see elusive caiman. Stopping overnight in Manaus also allows you time to explore the modern city centre. There’s a range of fantastic shops and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. After almost a week of Amazonian adventure you will head back to the Caribbean, stopping in Scarborough, Tobago – the home of the 18th century Fort King George – before returning to beautiful Bridgetown.
