Hurtigruten Voyage offers a unique opportunity to tour Norway’s western coastline more intimately as their smaller ships are better equipped to navigate the fjords and inlets nearer to shore, something that larger ships are unable to do.
You will be sailing within the auroral oval which offers better opportunities of catching the mesmerising lights than if you were on a land based trip and by sailing up the coast there will be no disruption of artificial ambient light. During the 12 day expeditions you will visit 34 ports of call and cover over 2,400 nautical miles. And, if the lights don’t occur during your voyage, Hurtigruten will offer you a FREE 6 or 7 day Classic Voyage between October and March (terms and conditions apply). On the five day journey you will fly to Tromsø in Northern Norway to join the expedition to the frozen north, and the whole journey will take place within the Arctic Circle. You will need plenty of warm clothing for these winter sailings to the Arctic, there is no need for formal wear. The locals who use the ships as their lifeline do not dress for dinner and therefore neither should you. On all departures you will have the chance to take part in some fantastic winter excursions to areas of the frozen land that is seldom seen by tourists. All three holidays depart from Bournemouth Airport and will be accompanied by a Fred. Olsen Escort (subject to minimum numbers) who will give you help, advice and smooth your travel arrangements.
