CRUISE WITH JOOLS HOLLAND
Our ships are smaller. But they are spacious throughout with all-balcony cabins and generously-sized lounges, bars and a full wraparound deck.
The theatre and lounge are just two of the ships’ entertainment spaces. Day and night, you will be spoilt for choice, with a full line up of talks, crafts and activities. Enjoy your included drinks in the stunning North or South Cape Bar, relax in The Library, take part in sociable quizzes, or listen to the classical music recitals in The Living Room and a range of music performances in the Supper Club.
THE DAILY PROGRAMME
11
THE FITNESS CENTRE
Both Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery have their very own theatre at sea. The Playhouse o ers plush seating for 444 guests, and showcases colourful performances every evening, along with cinema screenings, live music and even matinee shows on sea days.
LIFE ON BOARD OUR SISTERNEWSHIPS
THE LIDO In the centre of your ship, The Lido is the main outside space. It is a beautiful area with a generously sized swimming pool, twin hot tubs, and plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas. It’s also the place for fish and chips, ice cream and drinks from the bar, all waiter served while enjoying a taste of the British seaside.
THE BRITANNIA LOUNGE Found on both our ships, the main lounge is a large, double-height venue, with stunning panoramic windows o ering views all around. Order drinks from the lounge bar and enjoy a range of activities during the day, while in the evenings take your seat for entertainment from singers and bands.
Indulging in afternoon tea is another fine cruising tradition that we take very seriously. Every afternoon you are aboard the ship, you are invited to join us in the main Dining Room to enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, pastries and cakes. All are freshly made by our expert chefs.
The Fitness Centre has a range of hi-tech equipment, and a fitness expert is also on hand to help you get the best workout. Along with the gym, there is also a digital golf simulator, and more traditional deck games.
SPACIOUS OUTSIDE AND IN
One of the biggest features of our ships is just how much outside space there is to enjoy. You can walk in the fresh air along the full wraparound promenade, stroll around four times and you will walk a mile! Later, why not watch the sun set while sipping a cocktail on the Terrace, an elegant secret garden overlooking the back of each ship.
THE PLAYHOUSE THEATRE
THE SPA AND SALON
Just announced! Music legend Jools Holland OBE will be returning to Spirit of Discovery for a number of cruises in 2023. He’ll perform live with his band in the ship’s stunning Playhouse theatre. Turn to pages 20, 22, 25, 27, 28 and 33 to see the itineraries.

The Grand Dining Room, Spirit of Discovery Expect fine cuisine East to West, Spirit of Discovery Enjoy first-class service in every restaurant 12

Deciding when and where to dine is all part of the boutique cruise experience. Enjoy fine cuisine in the main Dining Room or Grill, or for dinner, reserve a table at one of your ship’s speciality restaurants completely free of charge.
EXTRA-SPECIAL SPECIALITY DINING
COAST TO COAST, OUR FIRST EVER SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
EAST TO WEST, SPICED -UP DINING
Enjoy British and International dishes in The Dining Room, our ships’ main restaurant. They serve a variety of culinary choices at every mealtime, finely cooked by our team of chefs. Here, open seating is standard, so you can arrive, take your seat, and dine whenever you like. Or book a ‘fixed’ table if you’d like the same one for the duration of your cruise. The menu changes every day, and a choice of complimentary house wines are available at lunch and dinner, along with your other all-inclusive drinks.
KHUKURI HOUSE, A NEW TASTE OF THE EAST Spirit of Adventure introduced a world first: a Nepalese restaurant on the ocean wave. Expect fresh flavours that are light and beautifully spiced. Genuine tandoor ovens mean our chefs can create curried meat, fish and vegetable dishes along with authentic Nepalese flatbreads. Saga’s hometown of Folkestone has strong links with the local Gurkha community, and Khukuri House is an ode to this history and heritage.
13
THE GRILL For a fresh alternative, head to The Grill. This light and airy restaurant gives you the option of a more relaxed dining experience. It o ers even more culinary options, from an irresistible bu et at breakfast to a bespoke lunchtime menu, while it reflects the main Dining Room menu at dinner. Just outside this restaurant is the Verandah. Here you can enjoy dine alfresco with stunning ocean views. When the weather’s fine, it’s also the place to enjoy barbecues.
In Spirit of Discovery’s other speciality restaurant, your taste buds will be tantalised by the flavours of the Orient. But East to West is so much more. From sizzling Szechuan beef to five-spiced duck with black tru e, the menu o ers a world of fine dining each evening, impeccably presented. No more than 73 other diners guarantees an intimate, boutique experience every time you visit.
Spirit of Discovery has a seafood restaurant, showcasing modern seafood cuisine: the best of British and locally-sourced fish and shellfish. Dishes are seasonal, and change according to what’s fresh in the destination you are visiting. Choose from the signature seafood platter to share, along with a range of sauces and accompaniments.
THE SUPPER CLUBS O ering more choice, our ships also have an elegant steakhouse restaurant and music club. But much more than a restaurant, it is another of the ship’s vibrant and fun entertainment venues, the place to enjoy live music and cocktails in the evenings, with resident and guest musicians entertaining until late. On Spirit of Discovery, The Club by Jools has British music legend Jools Holland OBE as its patron.
AMALFI, HIGH-END ITALIAN CUISINE Spirit of Adventure’s second speciality restaurant o ers Italian-style fine dining. Look forward to a mouthwatering menu of Mediterranean dishes, with an emphasis on Tuscan preparation. This includes ‘family-style’ sharing platters of antipasti along with pasta, risotto, parmigiana and arancini. Plus, a daily specials board to give an Amalfi twist to locally sourced fish and meats purchased in port that day.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Insufficient bookings: If we need to cancel your cruise due to insufficient support we would do so before the balance due date.
Balance: The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 90 days before departure. Unless you are otherwise advised, bookings made after the balance due date (as set out above) must be paid in full at the time of booking and we cannot confirm your booking until full payment is received. Payments can be made by credit card, debit card or cheque. If the deposit and/ or balance is not paid in time, we reserve the right to cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time, we shall retain your deposit to cover costs incurred.
Guarantee Cabins: The traditional way to book a cruise is to reserve your cabin number at the time of booking. However, if you’ve decided what type of cabin you want, but don’t have a preference for a particular cabin or bed configuration, then our Standard Balcony/ Single Standard Balcony Guarantees could be for you. You are guaranteed the minimum grade cabin in the category shown, just not the specific cabin. This will be allocated to you later on, sometimes as you embark the ship. If you choose not to accept your allocated cabin, which could be located anywhere on the ship, this will be treated as a cancellation by you and cancellation charges will be payable in accordance with our booking conditions. There is the chance you may be upgraded, although this is subject to cabin availability and in no way forms part of this offer.
All reservations are subject to Saga’s booking conditions which will be sent to you with your holiday confirmation and are available in advance upon request by calling us on 0800 504 505 or visiting our website travel.saga.co.uk. The holiday contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. You may however choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there and wish to do so. The holiday contract is created 14 days following your receipt of the written holiday confirmation.
BOOKING YOUR CRUISE Age qualification: Saga cruises are for anyone aged 50 and over. A travelling companion or family member travelling with you may be aged 40 or over.
Special offers: In the case of discounted prices and other special offers, please note that there are only a limited number of places available at the special offer prices. We reserve the right to extend, reduce or withdraw the offers at any time, without notice. Selected offers cannot be booked online.
How our discounts work: On all our cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce, until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the discounted fare applicable at the time of going to print. Please note that during peak booking periods discounts can reduce quickly. Please call us or visit our website for the most up-to-date prices.
Deposits: When you make your booking, you must a deposit of £200 per person or 15% of the cruise cost, whichever is the greater, up to a maximum of £1,000 per person; Certain cruises may require an additional or higher non-refundable deposit or full payment. Payment methods: We accept payment by debit card, credit card or cheque with no additional fees. We do not accept American Express. If wishing to pay by cheque, please make it payable to Saga Cruises and write your name, address and booking reference on the back. Please send cheques to Saga Cruises, Enbrook Park, Folkestone, Kent CT20 3SE.
PAYING FOR YOUR CRUISE
Cruise Price Promise: Should we ever reduce our prices or introduce a new special offer after you book, we will calculate the price difference and pass the value of any possible saving back to you (optional ad-hoc services are excluded). This applies as long as the discounted cruise is exactly the same package offered under exactly the same terms of sale (which means the full terms that apply to your holiday contract, including your cabin grade and whether your cabin is allocated at the time of booking or at embarkation). In calculating any possible saving due, we’ll take into consideration all offers and discounts that were applied at the time of booking and compare the overall price that you’ve been charged with the current price. We will pass on the value of the saving in the form of a higher-grade cabin, on-board credit, or other value-added benefit.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL Passports and visas: You will need a valid passport for all cruises featured. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your cruise. We recommend that you have at least three blank pages in your passport to cover potential immigration formalities which may be required in some countries. If you are a full British citizen resident in the UK, for the majority of destinations, if required, Saga will obtain your visa (excluding Schengen visas) or tourist card free of charge (postage is not included). We will advise you at the time of booking where you are responsible for obtaining your own visa. For further information about passports and Saga’s visa service call Saga on 0800 525 290 or email visa@saga.co.uk. If you are telephoning from outside the UK, please call +44 (0)1303 771138 (please note that this is not a freephone number). It may be necessary for you to arrange your own individual visas for independent travel in some ports. If you are not a full British citizen resident in the UK, you must confirm your nationality or status at the time of booking. Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant Embassies and/ or Consulates. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport, visa or immigration requirements.
