GoldenPass Line Rail Holidays

“A rail journey where every mile brings breathtaking views and unforgettable scenery.”
The GoldenPass line runs right through the heart of Switzerland; from Lucerne in the north, between lakes Thun and Brienz, and onwards from Interlaken to Montreux. There are four very different trains from which to enjoy travelling along this beautifully scenic line, and we’re delighted to be able to offer you all four modes, with our range of exciting GoldenPass rail holidays.

Lucerne - Interlaken Express
This sleek, modern train travels direct between Lucerne and Interlaken, with large panoramic windows, in just under two hours.
GoldenPass Express
Introduced in late 2022, by some incredible engineering, this train can change its own gauge, giving you a seamless journey from Montreux to Interlaken without ever changing trains. Prestige Class is an added (and very reasonably priced) bonus, with huge plush seats which can swivel to face the direction of travel.

“I got to travel on the stunning GoldenPass Line in Switzerland last summer and experience three modes; from the gorgeous Belle Époque vintage carriages to the newest Prestige Class. Operators MOB GoldenPass carry 3 million passengers a year, you can see why! And, even better, they are all included on a Swiss Travel Pass (excl. Prestige supplement from 1st Class pass), so they don’t break the bank.”
St. Moritz
GoldenPass Belle Epoque
The vintage carriages have such a charm to them; the beautiful green seats are incredibly comfortable and the scenery is stunning. These carriages operate only between Montreux and Zweisimmen on the narrow gauge section of the line.
GoldenPass Panoramic
These are the most frequently operating trains throughout the network with vast panoramic windows to enjoy the views. These carriages were the first panoramic carriages in Europe in 1976.
“Journey
to the Top of Europe! Head to Jungfraujoch: the highest railway station in Europe with its Sphinx Observatory and incredible views out over the glacier.”
