SOUTHERN VERMONT
The Southern Vermont region housing market, defined by Bennington and Windham counties, began to show signs of slowing during the First Half of 2023 after nearly two red-hot years.
Limited inventory remained a major driving factor, and the total number of units sold was down by -31.8% across the Southern Vermont region. However, the average sales price increased by +11.4%, and the average days on market increased slightly by +10.3%.
The markets with the most activity in Southern Vermont continued to be in and around the major resort areas - Manchester, Winhall, Dover, Wilmington and Stratton. There is a full breakdown by county and town in this report for more details at a local market level.
Moving into the remainder of 2023, we anticipate that buyer demand will continue to be active, driven by limited inventory and that pricing will continue to hold steady. Pricing appropriately for Sellers will become of the utmost importance in order to sell in a timely manner.
