A house with a hobby Designing a home for someone that has a hobby in this case, it is collecting wine. The house is situated at the end of flats on a forgotten space. The design focuses on letting light into the active living spaces such as the kitchen and bedroom, while the wine cellar and lounge is kept in relative darkness. There is a small outdoor area is created in a form of spacious balcony, found off the kitchen, allowing for a small oasis in an urban environment as well as an area to entertain.

House with a hobby, 10 years later

Intended for the same client as the previous house only 10 years later. This design boasts more room as it is situated on a larger plot. The wine cellar is the hidden focus of the house, as it is placed in the centre with the other rooms surrounding it. The kitchen and lounge are the largest with room to entertain, but where the kitchen has plenty of windows to allow light in and social interaction the lounge is lowered with no windows, creating privacy.

This pavilion has been developed as a spin off from a mapping project of Regent’s Park. A smaller version of the original mapping grid was used to regulate the height and depth of the structure. A section was cut through to provide straight forward access from the inner circle to the waterfront, in doing this, two sides of the pavilion have been created, and in turn dividing them both into the summer and winter pavilions. The green roof acts as a transition, blurring the boundies from the wooden facades to the grass landscapes.

The pavilion is situated in Regent’s Park in an area that is popular all year round. It has the benefit of a clear south facing sun, as well the existing suburban landmark of the band stand. The pavilions are angled so they face this artefact, encouraging more social events.

Following on from a previous group project, something was needed to be designed to upset the system diagram. Inspired by White City’s past history of hosting exhibitions. This temporary structure is situated in an unused space outside the BBC Media Village. Scaffolding is the principle structure with reclaimed wood as flooring and supporting furniture. The classic film posters, screen printed on arcylic panels are the main expense of the pop cinema, used both as aesthics and advertisement of the films due to shown.

Hackney Wick Regeneration and Master plan

STEM, Science, technology, Engineering, Maths Regenerating Hackney Wick and creating and celebrating STEM in the east of London. New will mix with the old and HW will become a place of learning, research, development and provide opportunities to the new generation. Not only will the new development serve those involved in the sciences but also the current residents. With better access and circulation across Hackney Wick and new employment opportunities planned.

Master plan approach New Developments Regeneration of existing

As part of the regeneration of Hackney Wick an Observatory, planetarium, laboratories and offices were to be built for private and public use. The building accommodated the two height levels of the site as well as providing access across the river.
