Security

Another primary, and perhaps the most time-consuming function, is patrolling the streets of DCBE checking for security concerns and rules violations.

„ Respond to members’ calls for assistance, such as jump start vehicle, check for noise around the home at night, lock-outs, etc

„ Respond to all emergency calls

„ Perform drive-by close patrol checks of homes, buildings and area of concerns

„ Make well-being checks

„ Work and investigate traffic accidents

„ Provide security for special events, New Year’s, Halloween, etc.

„ Offer vacation checks where the officer walks around the member’s home checking doors, windows and other security concerns. This is a very popular service.

„ Open trailer storage area when requested by member on Saturdays and Thursdays for dumpster use and open every day for trailer pick up and return.

„ Assist with checking in guests at the RV park.

„ Lock up club, maintenance, community center, cart barn, pool, tennis courts and restrooms on the golf course and marina, check fitness center, boat stall doors, pickleball court, basketball court and restrooms. And then unlock it all again in the morning.

Security has even been asked to shut off water for people who are out of town when it’s going to freeze, and change smoke detector batteries for those who are not able (batteries not supplied).

When you see a member of the security team out and about, give them a smile and a wave (if it’s safe to do so), and thank them for this vital amenity that they provide at DCBE.
