BEST WAY TO GET TO KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY IS TO SERVE
Professional Background: I bring into the real estate arena an extensive background from both sales and legal fields. I feel my experience in the legal field has helped me not only in knowing best how to serve people, but has also given me an advantage in the real estate world because of my experience with the legal aspects of real estate closings.
I have been the recipient of the Quality Service Pinnacle Producer Award, as well as the Masters Level Performance Award for sales that are prized awards offered though Century 21 Corporate offices, with intentions of many more to come. I have consistently placed among the top three Agents in the local CENTURY 21 office (the largest, most successful regional real estate office in Southeastern Kentucky) in both listings and sales.
My philosophy is to be completely honest and fair in every situation, and my personal involvement is in itself an extension of CENTURY 21 philosophy; which is delivering a gold standard of excellence to all my clients.
I truly care about my clients and treat them as if they were close friends or family members. Because of this philosophy, I have happy, loyal customers and a wonderful referral business from those who’ve done business with me in the past.
I like to maintain a hands-on approach, taking interest in every detail that concerns my clients. If my buyers and sellers are happy, that makes me happy, and creates a long term relationship that I hope to nourish as time goes by. I am not pushy, and do not have a salesman’s attitude or person-
ality, but rather prefer to be a resource to enable buyers or sellers to make the best possible decisions for themselves.
Personal Background: I have been married to the love of my life, Van Barrineau, for 22 years and we have made our home here in Corbin where he works as V/P and Commercial Lender of the local branch of Whitaker Bank, Inc. We have one son, Graham, who is 19 years old. Van and I were both raised as “Preacher’s Kids” so we have been active in church all our married lives.
Graham stays busy working with Eco-Tech, Laurel County Rescue Squad, West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Laurel County Department of Public Safety, and is the Owner/Operator of Diving With Hope, LLC. We love to do things together, as a family, such as go to local car shows, go hiking (especially in search of waterfalls), working out in the yard, fishing, hunting, or simply family game night or family movie night right at home! I guess my all time favorite adventure is riding our Harley Trike with my husband Van while Graham is spending time with friends or family!
I have been a Top Producing agent with CENTURY 21 for 20 years now, but when I’m not busy with Real Estate I volunteer with local service clubs, such as the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, where I am a member.
I sit on the board of the local hospital, Baptist Health Corbin and am also on the Upper Cumberland Community Foundation.
I feel strongly that one of the best ways to get to know your community is to serve.

AdventHealth Manchester is a comprehensive healthcare provider that has served communities in Appalachia since the 1920’s. With locations in Manchester, London, McKee, Oneida, and Red Bird, AdventHealth offers a wide range of primary and specialty care services, including orthopedics, ear, nose, and throat, general surgery, urology, lab services, imaging and diagnostics, physical and occupational therapy, and more.
AdventHealth has been part of the Clay County community for over 50 years, and has worked to improve access to care for Appalachian people since its founding. It all began in the late 1920’s when Oneida Mountain Hospital opened, and later closed due to a lack of funding in 1952. The Seventh-day Adventist Church answered the community’s call to reopen and operate Oneida Mountain Hospital through its KentuckyTennessee Conference. In 1963, Herb Davis
was appointed as a hospital administrator, and oversaw the relocation and construction project, which led to the current hospital’s founding in 1971.
AdventHealth Manchester is committed to being a leader in healthcare and expanding its services to meet the needs of its community. In 2021, the hospital opened a new $16.3 million surgical department and celebrated its 50th anniversary. This expansion allows the hospital to provide state-of-the-art care to patients in Clay County and the surrounding areas. The hospital’s mission is to ensure that all its patients have access to the highest level of healthcare available.

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT WILDCAT HARLEY-DAVIDSON
Wildcat Harley-Davidson, located at 575 E Hal Rogers Parkway in London, prides itself on being much more than just another Harley dealership. Since opening in 2009, they have not only sold bikes to riders near and far, but they have also provided award-winning service, offered the latest in Harley branded accessories and apparel, and they have even remained active in teaching new riders how to stay safe on the roads.
“When they were designing this place around 2007 or so, Harley-Davidson wanted it to be what they considered like a prototype store,” explained Marketing Manager Chris Minton. “Some of the design elements had a different type of feel, just to see how it would go. It was actually us and two other dealerships that were being designed in this fashion, but when the economy tanked in 2008 we were the only one that ended up being built. So, we do like to say that we’re a one-of-akind store for that reason.”
Minton said that, with one of the largest showrooms in the state, Wildcat Harley has consistent-
ly been at the top of the list in terms of providing exceptional service to its customers. “We have won several awards over the years,” he said. “We have been a Power Sports Business Top 100 store multiple times, and were top 30 in the country in 2022 in the Harley-Davidson rankings. As of last year, our service department is ranked first in the state, and 26th in the nation. We have also been a Harley-Davidson Finance and Insurance National Award winner every year since 2011.”
“We have always tried to emphasize customer service,” Minton said when asked about Wildcat’s secret to success. “That sounds kind of cliché, but when we opened the target was to service around 300-350 bikes per year. Our first year we did 900, so right out of the gate we were able to meet, and beat, expectations because of that service aspect.”
“We still do that to this day,” Minton continued. “We go above and beyond to try to make the customer feel at home. We have customers who will pass by multiple other dealerships in order to come here to buy and have their bikes serviced.

WILDCAT HARLEY-DAVIDSON
We have always tried to do everything that we can to set ourselves apart in that regard.”
Minton explained that, as of 2021, Wildcat Harley-Davidson has been under the ownership of a husband-and-wife team who over the years have gained legendary status within the brand.
“The group that we are affiliated with now has a rich history within Harley-Davidson,” Minton said. “Steve Deli helped to finance the transaction in the early 1980’s when Harley-Davidson bought themselves back from AMF (American Machine and Foundry). He was an investment banker in Chicago at the time, but he was the one that put that package together.”
“A couple of years after that, he helped with the transition that took Harley-Davison public on the stock market, and he also created what is now called Harley-Davidson Financial Services.”
Minton said that Deli’s wife, Anne, actually grew up near the son of one of Harley-Davidson’s founders, and has spent time on the Harley-Davidson board as a vice president of marketing.
So, aside from a knowledgeable sales staff, a reliable service department, and the latest-andgreatest in Harley-Davidson branded gear, what
more can Wildcat Harley offer its customers?
How about teaching people how to ride so that they can get in on all the fun?
“Something that we have had a lot of luck with is our riding academy,” said Minton. “It has been a great tool for us. It’s designed for someone to literally walk in off the street, having never even sat on a motorcycle, and end up being able to pass the class.”
For more information on how to sign up to be a part of the next riding academy, Minton said to go online to www. wildcatharley.com. While on the website, visitors can also access links to different departments, view current inventory, sign up for text and e-mail alerts, and even set up an appointment for a test drive.
“Just come and hang out with us,” Minton said when asked what he would like to say to anyone out there interested in learning more about owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “We have bikes here for every price range, available in every style and size. There are all kinds of different shapes and sizes of people, so there are also all kinds of different shapes and sizes of bike. We want to try and emphasize finding the bike that is going to best fit you.”

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT WILLIAMSBURG HEALTH & REHABILITATION CENTER
Having to make the decision to place a loved one in a long-term care facility can be a difficult one to make, especially when there are several to choose from that can often have varying levels of care. But Williams burg Health and Re habilitation Center is helping to make that kind of decision a lit tle bit easier.
Located off N. 11th Street, just under a mile from downtown, Williamsburg Health and Rehab has a proven track record of quality and success in the care that they provide.
In November, the facility was among 30 nursing providers in the state to be listed among “The Best of Kentucky” by the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities/Kentucky Center for Assisted Living (KAHCF/KCAL). To be considered for that list, a nursing and rehabilitation facility must
possess at least a four-star rating or higher with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
CMS is the organization that is responsible for—among other things—creating health and safety guidelines for healthcare facilities. The organization then uses a variety of criteria to gauge the quality of individual healthcare facilities using a rat-
Williamsburg Health and Rehab is currently rated at five stars by CMS, which is the highest rating possible. Possessing and maintaining a fivestar rating is an important distinction, especially among long-term care facilities.
According to Medicare.gov, there is only one other long-term care facility in the Tri-County that has a five-star rating and only three others

within a 50-mile radius.
So, what is it that makes Williamsburg Health and Rehab so efficient?
“Something that plays into our five-star rating is staffing… We really pride ourselves in the care that we provide at Williamsburg,” said Laura Creekmore, administrator at Williamsburg Health and Rehab. “We’ve never had agency staff in this facility. Even through the pandemic, we never had to utilize agency staff. That’s been a blessing because we’ve been able to maintain our own staff, some of which have worked here for almost 40 years. That’s the type of quality you can’t teach. The knowledge base of our staff, I think, really plays into the quality of care we are able to provide.”
Creekmore said that her and the staff are also constantly striving to sustain that high level of care by continuing to learn and
adapt as the facil ity’s residents and their conditions change.
“This is healthcare and the patients do change—people come in and out. And so, we’re in a constant state of readjusting how we take care of our patients in order to meet those everchanging needs. It’s everchanging and we are changing with it,” said Creekmore.
The residents at Williamsburg Health and Rehab are comprised primarily of those who have chronic or acute illnesses who are in need of traditional long-term care. For those who live at the facility, there are a number of services and amenities available, including physical and occupational therapy, medication management, religious and spiritual opportunities, a full-service dietary staff, access to pharmacological and psychiatric services among many others.

WILLIAMSBURG HEALTH & REHABILITATION CENTER
Additionally, Creekmore said that the facility also offers outpatient therapy, which can be utilized by residents who are able to return home, but still are in need of rehabili tation.
That service provides a continuation of care that can often be im portant for those who leave the facility, since they can remain work ing with a therapist they are familiar with.
The ability for resi dents to continue care once leaving the facility is just one aspect of the overall vision Creek more and the staff at Williamsburg Health and Rehab share for those they care for. Ultimately, Creekmore said it all
comes down to ensuring that they do their work with the best interest of their residents in mind.
“If you put the patients first, if you put their needs first and their overall well-being, I think you’re going to always be right in what you do.
And how you deliver your care, if it’s always done with the patient in mind, then you’re probably making the right decision,” said Creekmore. “That’s kind of our motto.
That’s our perspective on how we operate our facility and we’re very proud of it.”

CHAMBER MEMBER HIGHLIGHT HAMPTON INN - CORBIN
If you are going to be successful in the hotel business like Corbin’s Hampton Inn, then there are a couple of things that are essential, such as having clean rooms and hospitality.
“You have to have hospitality. I make them keep a definition of hospitality at the front desk in case employees come in and are having a bad day. I have been there. I know,” said Corbin Hampton Inn General Manager Steven Bailey, who started out 11 years ago working the front desk
“You see that definition and it kind of jars your brain and reminds you that you are sup-
posed to welcome people with a smile and be nice. It is just the family atmosphere. They feel at home here. We have regulars that have been coming for years.”
He noted that the Steely family rents out the entire hotel once a year for its family reunion.
The Corbin Hampton Inn was built new by original owner Jim Handy and opened in June 2000. His son, Jason Handy, took over the family business after his father’s death.
The 67-room hotel features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, meeting rooms, a business center and a free hot breakfast for customers.

“We have one of the best breakfasts around with gravy and biscuits and all that,” Bailey said.
He said one of the things that sets the hotel apart is its family like atmosphere.
In 2018, the hotel underwent a major renovation.
The hotel currently employees 22 people, but Bailey noted that he could use about three more employees if someone is looking for a new job in the hospitality industry.
Bailey noted that the pandemic hurt the industry taking many hotels down to renting 10 rooms per night at one point.
“I take my hat off to ownership. For him to be able to stay open and not close, he did a good
job,” Bailey said.
Since that time though, business has largely returned to normal and then some.
Last year the Hampton Inn company had a record year.
Over a recent twoweek period, the Corbin Hampton Inn rented out 884 rooms.
“It is the perfect stop for the Canadians going south. It is exactly halfway so they stop here going to Florida, and they stay down there for six months or however long. Then when they come back, they stay,” Bailey noted.
The busiest time of year is typically June, July and August for the Corbin Hampton Inn.
While the big city hotels typically do pretty well

with holiday travel in November and December, the local hotel doesn’t typically do so with last November being the exception.
“It was one of the best Novembers since we opened,” Bailey noted admitting that he doesn’t know why. “I guess more people were ready to travel due to Covid years before. I guess they just kept traveling a little longer into the season.”
Bailey said there aren’t any big changes planned for the hotel in the immediate future.
Hampton Inn requires its hotels to be remodeled every 20 years, and Bailey is hoping that he will still be around for the next remodel.
“I found my niche. I like hospitality. I never thought I would but I do,” he added.
