doors and jump fences in his desire to mate.

There are many medical and behavioral benefits to having your male cat or dog neutered:

-It reduces the risk of prostate problems and testicular tumors later in life.

Helps decrease the overpopulation problem

-One male running loose for just a few hours can impregnate many females, adding to the serious problem of unwanted puppies and kittens.

Eliminates Sexual Frustration

-A male seeking a female in heat can break down

-Lets your pet relax and enjoy neing part of the family.

Common Myths:

Why should I spay my pet?

-It rids you of the worry of what to do with an unplanned litter of kittens or puppies.

There are many medical and behavioral benefits to having your male cat or dog spayed:

Convenience to owner

-It eliminates estrous or “heat” periods: no bloody discharge

-It eliminates the scnet that attracts annoying males.

-There will be no need to confine your pet because she won’t go into heat

-It eliminates the frantic pacing and crying by the female while in heat (cats are especially vocal during that time.)

Better health for your pet

-It eliminates all the problems and potential risks involved in pregnancy and birth.

-It eliminates the common problem of cancer of the uterus as the pet gets older

Helps decrease the overpopulation problem

-It prevents your pet from bringing more unwanted puppies or kittens into the world.

Eliminates sexual frustration

-It decreases your pet’s desire to roam in search of a mate, which in turn keeps your pet at home and safe.

-It allows your pet to relax and enjoy being part of your family.

Common Myths:

-Spaying will make my pet fat

-She should have one litter first

-Spaying will hurt her

-It’s easy to find homes for my litter of puppies or kittens

These myths have been disproven. If you have more questions about getting your pet spayed, please contact your local vet.
