Cultural Experiences For The Entire Family
The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center is an educational and immersive experience that brings the rich history of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to life. Tribally owned and operated since 1998, the Museum serves as a major resource in the Northeast and is the largest Native American museum in the world.
Explore over 300,000 square feet of extraordinary and multi-sensory exhibits, collections and archives that showcase the tribe’s history. Take in interactive programs, films and videos, commissioned art and traditional crafts throughout the Museum’s exhibits and classrooms. This cultural experience will leave a lasting impression on the entire family.
From fruitful harvests to the first berries of the season, the Pequot people celebrate many types of Thanksgivings. Join us Saturday, June 17, as we celebrate the Strawberry Thanksgiving at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Enjoy fresh strawberry cakes and drinks as you are welcomed with a live performance from the Yootay Singers and Dancers from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. Join us as we hear stories about relationships, forgiveness and growth from tribal elder Sharon Porter, compete in Native games and host fun activities for the whole family.
Families and friends are invited to join us at the Pequot Museum for a week of native crafts, fun and edu-tainment. Each day we will have crafts and special highlights in the museum Gathering Space and various tours and workshops. Workshops, tours and bingo are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations cannot be made in advance.
