THANK YOU!
One pioneering vision became an overnight success when Foxwoods Resort Casino opened its doors 25 years ago, drawing millions to the “Wonder of the Connecticut Woods. This year, we celebrated you, our valued guests. Thank you for being "Foxwoods faithful" for so many years - we are beyond grateful for your patronage.
From Our CEO Dear Valued Guest,
Wuyeepuyôq–Welcom e!
2
017 was a monumental year here at Foxwoods Resort Casino as we had the honor of celebrating our 25th Anniversary alongside you, our loyal guests, who made this special milestone possible. Opened in 1992, Foxwoods has grown from a single Bingo Hall to a full-service resort destination with world-class entertainment, cutting-edge gaming technology, chef-driven dining experiences and a team dedicated to providing the best possible resort casino experience imaginable.
Foxwoods’ silver anniversary festivities began with the 25th Anniversary Kickoff Week featuring an unparalleled concert lineup that included free shows from pop icon Kesha and Motown legend Smokey Robinson as well as performances from country kingpins Rascal Flatts, American rock legend John Fogerty and the dynamic duo of Ja Rule and Ashanti. That wasn’t all as Foxwoods kept the party going by giving away over $1,000,000 in cash, cars, cruises and other amazing prizes in February alone! The parade of outstanding entertainment acts continued throughout the year as A-listers including chart-topping singer John Legend, GRAMMY award-winning sensation Alicia Keys, superstar Mariah Carey and many, many more performed at Foxwoods in front of packed crowds. With fan-favorite Celtic Thunder: Symphony Tour on December 2 and Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, a dazzling spectacle directed by GRAMMY-award winner Chip Davis, on December 3, Foxwoods’ December entertainment slate is filled with holiday fun. Later in the month, look out for stand-up from comedy superstar Jerry Seinfeld on December 9, a jaw-dropping extended run of MINDFREAK LIVE! Starring Criss Angel from December 14 to December 17 and two nights of uproarious comedy from late-night virtuoso John Oliver on December 29 and 30. Families also won’t want to miss Penguin Encounter on December 9 as Foxwoods receives a special visit from the Mystic Aquarium’s favorite flightless birds. There are now more ways than ever to win at Foxwoods thanks to a slew of exciting gaming developments this year. The resort casino ushered in a new era of gaming with PLAY Arena @ Foxwoods, an immersive, multi-sensory environment where players can toggle between their favorite games from the comfort of a single play station. Stop by the fully-renovated Great Cedar Casino on any night and, on top of the hundred-plus new slot machines, you will see dealers and players dancing and celebrating together in PLAY’s multiple, social gaming atmospheres. Foxwoods also announced an exclusive partnership with CT Lottery to launch the Foxwoods High Roller scratch ticket with winners taking home luxury prizes only available through the scratch ticket including four $125,000 top prizes, VIP overnight stays and more. In another joint venture, Foxwoods and GameCo brought the first-ever skill-based slot games to New England. Visit the Fox Tower Casino and try your hand at Pharaoh’s Secret Temple, Nuthin’ but Net, Cosmic Candy Heist and Steve Aoki’s Neon Dream where the better you play, the more you can win! Guests won big all year long at Foxwoods starting with George of Pembroke, MA and Mark D. from Penfield, NY, who split the Foxwoods Anniversary Firecracker Bingo Grand Prize and took home $500,000 each! The excitement continued as Bruno M. from New Hampshire began September by winning the $250,000 Grand
Prize at the Dream Slot Tournament Grand Finale with celebrity host Mario Lopez. Factor in the $1,000,000 Oktoberfest Bingo jackpot and countless more wins all throughout property and it’s easy to see why Foxwoods is the perfect destination for those who like to play and win. Foodies were in for a treat in 2017 with the arrival of Sugar Factory American Brasserie. Movie and television star Nick Cannon and model extraordinaire Nina Agdal cut the ribbon on the celebrity hot-spot which serves everything from decadent crepes to flavorful milkshakes, gourmet burgers and more. Instagram-worthy favorites include Couture Pops, smoking Goblet Drinks and candyinfused cocktails. Foxwoods reached new heights with the recently unveiled Foxwoods Thrill Tower. Showcasing two awe-inspiring rides, Sky Drop and Sky Launch, Foxwoods Thrill Tower marks the resort casino’s first foray into adventure tourism, an area that sets us apart from the field and delivers a truly unique thrill. On the breathtaking Sky Drop, four riders at a time are lifted to the top of Thrill Tower before free-falling 120 feet to the bottom. Sky Launch, which is equally adrenaline-inducing, propels two riders sitting back-to-back from the ground to the top of Thrill Tower and back again at jawdropping speed. There is always something new at Foxwoods and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store as we continue to exceed customer expectations. A few highlights include the upcoming opening of the HighFlyer Zipline, a 33-story high thrill-ride launching guests from the top of the Fox Tower to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center at a top speed of 60 miles per hour, and the high-performance, European-style On Track Karting experience featuring dramatic elevation changes and hairpin turns. Both attractions will leave you filled with excitement as well as lasting memories that can’t be made elsewhere and in the end that is our goal at Foxwoods. We will continue to lead the casino industry forward, delivering a full-service experience with something for everyone, from the hottest entertainment acts, to the latest gaming advancements, to exquisite dining experiences and unmatched adventure at every turn. Community always comes first at Foxwoods and I’m proud to say that the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation reached a landmark this year, passing $4 billion infused into the state economy as a result of the slot revenue sharing agreement between the tribe and Connecticut. The MPTN is truly humbled to have been able to give back to and bolster vital programs and services throughout Connecticut since 1992 including the Stuff the Bus campaign. Through December 11, unwrapped toys, blankets, pajamas, jackets and diapers are being collected in support of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and its “Tommy Toy” Fund program. Contributions will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. daily at the Foxwoods Bus Terminal as well as at all Foxwoods hotel lobbies and select locations in the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. At Foxwoods, we are 25 Years Proud and none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our loyal guests who have chosen to spend time with us over the last 25 years. On behalf of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the entire Foxwoods team, thank you for making Foxwoods Resort Casino The Wonder Of It All. We hope you enjoy your stay! Warmest Regards,
Felix Rappaport President & CEO Foxwoods Resort Casino

n January 1992, Aaron Tetlow started in Food & Beverage Accounting at Foxwoods. Within five months an opening came up in Mashantucket Information Systems (MIS), and Aaron took it. He married that May, and by Aaron’s one-year anniversary at Foxwoods the Tetlows had a son. “He’s 24 now, the same age I was when I started here,” Aaron says with a smile. “I was hired as a computer operator. We only had a director, no VP or CIO, so everybody did a bit of everything,” he says. “Now we’re split into operators, techs, service desk and analysts. We didn’t have slots when we opened—those came about a year later around the same time as the hotels—but we worked on the casino system, HR, payroll, finance and F&B.”
But Foxwoods soon grew with the casino and hotels, and MIS grew with it. “We became a world class IT department,” Aaron says. He became the systems engineering manager in 2000. “When we get a call that the slots are down, MIS is there. We are always on call.” His group is involved in testing every time a new system comes in. They support the computers, servers, hardware—everything digital—Not just Foxwoods but the Tribe, including programs for the pharmacy, A A RON TETLOW fire/life safety, the court system, the police and so on. Aaron says, “Really we support a whole Nation. It’s a lot for our vendors to grasp.” Aaron is a Red Sox fan and says, “A big thrill was meeting Jason Varitek when he visited Foxwoods. He was super nice and great with his fans.” Aaron is a multi-talented guy: a trivia lover whose team won the national World Tavern Trivia competition in 2015; a Boston Bruins fan who loves woodworking and makes popular wooden Christmas trees. “I also do a lot of photography,” he adds. Aaron looks back on 25 years with Foxwoods, and he could not be happier about the experience. “There have been so many great things that have happened for me over the past 25 years,” he says. “Meeting the right person and getting to marry her, then having our son and working at Foxwoods. So many good things.”

Wuyámu sh – Be Well!
or thousands of years, the Pequot people dwelled along the shores of what would one day become southeastern Connecticut. But early one morning in spring of 1637, our ancestors were targeted by English colonials in the first-ever genocidal massacre attempt on continental North American soil.
At nearby Mystick Fort, historians estimate between 400 to 600 women, children and elderly Pequots were killed in less than one hour. Survivors were forbidden to speak their language or ever mention the name “Pequot,” and were either sold to slave traders in Bermuda, or forced to live as slaves to local tribes. Years later, Pequot Sachem Robin Cassacinamon successfully negotiated with the Hartford Colony to reunite the Pequots—first at Noank in 1651, and then later inland at Mashantucket, a heavily wooded land to which colonials relocated our ancestors in 1667. What happened next is one of the greatest comeback stories in American history. Against all odds, the Mashantucket Pequots not only survived the next 350 years, we thrived through courage, determination, and vision. Which brings us to 2017—an extraordinary, milestone year! The Mashantucket (Western) Pequot Reservation turned 350 years old, the oldest in North America. We celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Foxwoods Resort Casino, the first full-service casino ever built on an Indian reservation. We reached a $4 billion milestone in slot revenue contributions to the State of Connecticut. Known as the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, ours is the first revenue sharing agreement of its kind to exist between a tribe and state–the inspiration for what would ultimately become a $30 billion Indian Gaming Industry, benefiting hundreds of tribes throughout the United States today. Most importantly, we say Kutaputuyumu (thank you all) to our Tribal Members, Elders Council (pictured below), team members, government employees, vendors and tenants for their commitment and willingness to not only take part in the wonder of it all, but for their gracious support in hosting more than 300 million guests that have visited Mashantucket over the last 25 years, making Mashantucket the wonder of the Connecticut woods. Wuyámush (be well)!

GIV ING HONOR HONORING DEDICATION OF THE VISIONARY PIONEERS
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation honored Richard “Skip” Hayward with its first Lifetime Achievement Award at the Foxwoods Resort Casino's 25th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Distinguished Service Awards were also presented to Tribal Elder Juanita Helen Reels for her dedication to generations of Tribal children and Theresa "Darnice" Hayward Bell for her commitment to the Tribe's culture and sovereignty.
A Lifetime of Dynamic Leadership, Bold Vision and Dedicated Service to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Richard A. “Skip” Hayward was elected Chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in 1975. With a vision for community development, Hayward established the first tribal housing authority in the state of Connecticut (1977), and built the first on-reservation housing development with a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He began the tribe’s Sugar Shack maple syrup operation, still thriving to this day, and several other business ideas to secure the tribe’s economic stability. Upon winning the tribe’s federal recognition in 1983, Hayward championed the construction of the Mashantucket Pequot High Stakes Bingo Hall, which opened in 1986. Following the Bingo success, Hayward secured a $60 million investment from Malaysian billionaire Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, with which the first Native American casino was built—Foxwoods Resort Casino. These developments resulted in hundreds of construction jobs and more than ten thousand employment positions during a severe economic recession. Throughout much of the nineties, Foxwoods remained the largest and most profitable casino in the western hemisphere. Twenty-five years later, it is one of North America’s largest, and the “Wonder of the Connecticut Woods.” To date, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has contributed over $4 billion to the state of Connecticut through a first-of-its-kind slot revenue sharing agreement, which became an example for similar agreements nationwide. Each year, the tribe invests approximately $100 million in local vendor contracts, helping to strengthen small businesses throughout the region. Additionally, the Tribe has provided millions to charities and social service organizations throughout the local area since 1992. It all began with Skip.
2000
Foxwoods’ total slot revenue contributions to the state of Connecticut top $1 billion.
The year ends on a high note with the unveiling of the upscale Stargazer Casino and Paragon Restaurant atop the Grand Pequot Tower.
2001
September 11th: The Tribe’s high speed ferries join the largest-ever water rescue effort in lower Manhattan, rescuing over 1,000 people before the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.
2002
B.B. King Dance & Nite Club becomes the newest addition to the Foxwoods night scene, with B.B. King himself on hand to cut the ribbon.
A Life Dedicated to the Love, Protection, Education and Future of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe’s Children Tribal Elder Juanita Helen Reels (“Mother Earth”) has dedicated her life to nurture, serve and protect the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation by caring for many generations of the Tribe’s children, empowering each to grow emotionally, socially and intellectually with love and self-acceptance. With a passion in her heart to ensure Pequot children grew in knowing and sharing their tribe’s history and culture, Juanita was responsible for developing the tribe’s early childhood cultural program and Toonuppasog “Turtle” classroom—a place where generations of children learned Pequot language, and Eastern Native culture, dance and music. Juanita also recognized that investing time and energy into the Tribe’s youth is an investment in the Tribe’s future. For this reason, she created and developed the educational and cultural programs for the Tribe’s Child Development Center, overseeing many generations of Pequots from age six weeks through grade school while their parents attended school or worked to benefit the Tribe and its businesses. By recognizing every child’s unique temperament and learning style, Juanita encouraged the children to bring their unique perspectives and personalities into their learning experiences. Juanita’s far-reaching influence has transcended multiple generations of Pequots that grew up to become active, responsible and emotionally mature adults invested in serving and strengthening the Tribe’s government, businesses and sovereignty.
A Lifelong Commitment to Preserving the Culture, History and Sovereignty of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Tribal Elder Theresa “Darnice” Hayward Bell began working for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in the early 1970s helping to rebuild the Tribe’s community. During that time, Bell served as a member of the Tribal Council and worked on the Tribe’s Housing Authority. In the 1980s, Bell served on the Connecticut Governor’s Task Force on Indian Affairs, and was responsible for managing tribal events and public relations, during which time Bell founded the award-winning Pequot Times newspaper. With the responsibility and oversight of the Tribe’s museum and library project, Bell was appointed Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Reparation Officer, and awarded the Harriet Tubman Award from the Connecticut Chapter of the National Organization of Women. As the first Executive Director of the world renowned Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center (1984-2006), Bell’s leadership over the Museum’s development, construction and operation resulted in prestigious Smithsonian endorsements and multiple university partnerships. Twenty years later, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center has hosted thousands of visitors, scholars and school groups, featuring Pequot history, northeastern woodland tribal history and culture, and the natural history of Southeastern Connecticut. Ms. Bell’s legacy conveys her passionate and selfless dedication to restoring, protecting, and preserving the history, culture, and sovereignty of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which continues to influence many generations of Pequots and local tribes, as well as millions throughout New England.

From Bingo Hall to Seven Casinos 25 Y ears of Gaming at Foxwoods
oxwoods’ “silver anniversary” year was filled with golden celebrations and new projects that exceeded all expectations. It was also a time for revisiting our own astonishing gaming story.
When Richard A. “Skip” Hayward was elected chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in 1975, little remained of the Tribe’s historic Mashantucket land in southeastern Connecticut. In 1977, Hayward established the first Tribal housing authority in Connecticut, and built the first housing development with a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Several early business ventures were insufficient to provide economic stability for his Tribal community so, upon winning federal recognition in 1983, Hayward championed the construction of the Mashantucket Pequot High Stakes Bingo Hall, which opened in 1986.

A recent “Industry Pioneer” inductee to the American Gaming Association’s Hall of Fame and recipient of the Mashantucket Pequots’ first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award, Hayward’s leadership arose from humble beginnings and an extraordinary vision for the Tribal community across the United States, where many tribes have also used the Mashantucket Pequot model.
Celebrating our 25th anniversary, it’s clear how far we’ve come. In 2017 alone we have fully renovated the Great Cedar Casino, adding over 100 new slot machines, introduced PLAY Arena @ Foxwoods, and we’re creating a great new bar on the casino floor. We have added 400 new slot machines across all casinos, and our Summer of Dreams 4 slots tournaments were a hit—as was the debut of videogame gambling machines Following the Bingo success, (VGMs). t’s been quite an “entertaining” ride here at Mashantucket since 1993, when Old Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, christened the 1,400-seat Fox Theater. Things took off from there, with highlights over the years including the 2001 arrival of boxing at Foxwoods with the Evander Holyfield/ John Ruiz heavyweight title fight; opening of the region's largest Hard Rock Cafe in 2002 and the introduction of Liquid Sundays, New England’s hottest pool party in 2009. And since we will only turn 25 once, we’re keeping the party going. For our 25th Anniversary Foxwoods Resort Casino celebrated with a galaxy of stars from music, comedy, free shows, exclusive performances and over $1 million in giveaways and prizes. “Our guests have been with us since we opened the doors 25 years ago, and this is our opportunity to show our appreciation,” said Foxwoods Resort Casino President and CEO Felix Rappaport.
Foxwoods also hosted international R&B star Alicia Keys and launched our new Broadway Series. The first showcase of its kind in the region, the Broadway Series feature a collection of world-class musical productions in the Fox Theater including “42nd Street,” “Pippin” and “MAMMA MIA!” on their farewell tour. Not to be outdone, Foxwoods also welcomed famed ComiCONN for the first time. Monique Sebastian, Vice President of Entertainment & Entertainment Marketing at Foxwoods said, “As we continue to add new and distinctive events that appeal to the variety of our guests’ interests, ComiCONN was the latest highlight in our mission to offer something for everyone at Foxwoods.”
Laughter is always on the menu, and our 25th anniversary found guests roaring to the best comics in the business, from Amy Schumer to Trevor Noah to the hilarious Jerry Seinfeld. The Ever-Expanding Culinary Scene at Foxwoods
or some context on the sizzling culinary scene at Foxwoods today, it’s important to look back to our beginnings with Cedar's Steakhouse, the first restaurant at Foxwoods which opened in 1992; and the dizzying era that began in 2000 with Paragon Restaurant opening atop Grand Pequot Tower; the 2004 addition of the region's largest Hard Rock Cafe opens at Foxwoods; David Burke Prime opening in 2008 giving guests access to a dynamic new culinary experience; the debut of red-hot Scorpion Bar in 2009 at the Great Cedar Casino; and the 2016 opening of lofty eatery VUE 24. And that was just the first 25 years!
Cedars Steakhouse was the first restaurant at Foxwoods located in Rainmaker Square.
At the end of 2016 we welcomed Guy Fieri’s Foxwoods Kitchen + Bar—a 258-seat restaurant with a full premium bar. The beloved chef, restaurateur, author and host of Food Network’s top-rated show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” brought his comfort food to the fantastic restaurant, located on the casino level of the Grand Pequot Tower featuring an open kitchen, massive windows, custom furniture and rustic accents. Fieri’s American-style cuisine delivers bold flavors in dishes like Trash Can Nachos, Bacon Mac-N-Cheese Burger, as well as a hearty selection of signature sandwiches, burgers, fork + knife entrées and desserts like the decadent Seven-Layer Dark Chocolate Whiskey Cake. Also in 2016, guests were delighted with the arrival of the incredible CAKE by Franck.
In 2017, Foxwoods had yet another flavorful debut— Sugar Factory American Brasserie, America’s favorite eatery and confectionery shop—which opened in the theater district of the Pequot Tower. The vibrant 8,000-square-foot space has a full-service café and confectionery, retail shop, indoor dining room and full service bar. “We are thrilled about the growth of our restaurant concept with the location inside Foxwoods Resort Casino,” said Sugar Factory founder, Charissa Davidovici. “Casinos are the perfect places for our lively atmosphere and playful menu. This location will provide a sweet oasis for resort guests of all ages.” Sugar Factory’s signature floor-to-ceiling candy wall features more than 500 types of candy, and the 212-seat dining room glows with red tufted banquets and crystal chandeliers. Sugar Factory’s is known for its savory crepes, salads, monster burgers, amazing milkshakes and specialty pizzas. The legendary desserts will top the menu with the famous King Kong Sundae, serving up to 12 people with 24 scoops of ice cream topped with sprinkles, gummy bears, caramel sauce, fudge sauce and giant swirly pops, to name a few. The white marble bar seats 17 guests and provides full menu service complete with Sugar Factory’s signature 64 oz. alcohol-infused smoking candy goblets like the Lollipop Passion, garnished with lollipops and candy necklaces. As we do every June through September, Foxwoods Resort Casino also served up a vast array of lobster entrées for our summer Lobster Madness promotion. Guests travelled the resort enjoying tasty dishes, prepared in styles that appealed to everyone’s liking— from Lobster Scampi at Alta Strada to delicious Lobster Bisque with Sherry and Chives at Cedars Steakhouse & Oyster Bar—and other mouthwatering preparations at our lively dining venues.
In 1995, Cedars Restaurant moved to its current location, the cornerstone of the Great Cedar Concourse.

Thrill Rides, Spa Treatments, Luxury Shopping and the Best Golf – all at Foxwoods
W
hen you create a destination paradise in the forests of Connecticut, make sure there’s plenty to do. Here at Foxwoods, we’ve always kept that thinking front and center. Consider this timeline: in 1998 the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center opened as the largest Native American owned and operated museum in existence; Lake of Isles opens in 2005 with two 18-hole Rees Jones designed golf courses; in 2008 our luxury retail corridor makes its entrance with Rolex, Bulgari, Chopard and Pandora; a $700 million expansion project in 2008 creates Fox Tower with a luxury spa (G Spa & Salon) and the 4,000 seat Grand Theater; High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Lounge is unveiled in 2010 with Kim Kardashian attending; in 2010 we celebrated by opening the super-fun Ice Skating Rink; and of course the 2015 introduction of 300,000 square-foot Tanger Outlet at Foxwoods—the nation’s first Tanger Outlets collection of premium brands under one roof—with more than 80 stores and quick-service dining options in a next-level retail experience that includes Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers, Nike, H&M, Kay Jewelers, Gap Factory Outlet and many more. So much more is happening in 2018 that guests simply must stay tuned for all the great new entertainment experiences. Foxwoods Resort Casino is reinventing itself with a comprehensive portfolio of ecotourism experiences that began in 2017 with the Foxwoods Thrill Tower. The brand-new, extremely fun experience includes two new rides—the Sky Drop and Sky Launch—and marks another stage in Foxwoods’ evolution as a full-service resort destination. Another “thrilling” development this year is the Foxwoods HighFlyer Zipline. The adrenaline-pumping sky ride launches guests safely from the top of Fox Tower Hotel to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center—at speeds of over 60 miles-per-hour! That’s entertainment. If you really want to hit the gas pedal, we're bringing the fast lane to guests with a new highperformance, European-style indoor go-karting center at Foxwoods—and on one of the longest and fastest indoor kart runs ever constructed. The top-of-the-line, multi-level track will feature dramatic elevation changes, hairpin turns, and gas-powered, nine-horsepower karts that give drivers the power and control necessary for the ultimate high-speed rush.
