Horror Film Sound Plan

Scene 1 Sounds: Train station In scene we have a clear plan on the sound we need to film. Sounds we need to record are the train announcements in the station. When the character is sitting down and talking on the phone capture the tapping sound on the phone. Extra foley sounds - shaking leaves on the tree to show the effect of the blowing wind. Footsteps of the character walking in front of the camera. Voice over of izzy.

Light pink - The beginning of the timeline is the intro and title sequence. Orange - This section is the train sequence. Here I have layered sounds of trees shaking to give the impression of a cold day. This is the base layer of sound.

Scene 2 Sounds: Cyprus Here we need sounds of the environment. We have shot of a plane flying pass we need to record the sound of that. We also need peoples footsteps this we can recreate as a foley sound. We need to capture the conversation so we need to narrate them lines in the studio with our main female actress.

Above are the sounds that we recorded at the station and at cyprus. We have reviewed each sounds and some sounds have been recorded again and we have tried to recreate sounds like the unfolding of the tie and footsteps. This is so we can get nice sounds when we put them together.

Scene: Cyprus under the bridge Here we are trying to capture high quality audio using the C100 audio boom mic and we will also use a close mc1 zoom mic to capture any sounds that we can use to edit. We had bad audio from the mc1 zoom mic so we will try to ensure we recreate sounds like the stamping of the cigarette and crackling sounds to show that its burning.

Here are some sound layers i have created. The sounds are all colour coordinated so I know what area is what sound. The sounds have been recorded again and layered on top of each other to create a high pitch ratio and make the quality sound better.

I have also screenshot the audio mixer. Here i have adjusted the levels of sound so it helps fade together sounds well. This is good technique to level out sounds better.

I have used sound effects to help the layered sounds fit in well. This has helped me create some cool effects and makes the audio more controlled better.

Throughout the whole production i have used exponential fade to create a smooth transition of audio through the film. I can also adjust the length of this effect by dragging it to my desired length.
